Easy to work with, honest, reliable, knowledgeable, fair pricing, give options as to what to do with a tree instead of removing it. I have used them a number of times and will continue to do so.

If you love your trees, you will love Grateful Trees and Bees. Fair prices, tender loving care of trees, considerate of people and animals. Wonderful people I would recommend to anyone.

Jake loves the land and the trees. It not just a job for him, it a passion. He will care for your tree as though they were his own.

They did a great job and are affordable!!

The service is great and very skillful, a good measure is taken to get the job right and finish it well. It's a truly nice, "old fashioned" service of doing the best for the client; friendly and sincere.
The invoicing is a bit complicated for the client to figure out. -
GTB are definitely passionate about their work. They are knowledgeable, thoughtful, and dedicated to providing their customers with the results they expect. They also have very competitive rates! I would recommend GTB to anyone in need of a hassle-free job done right.

I highly recommend Grateful Trees and Bees to anyone needing tree care. Their expertise inspire confidence in their work, and they did a great job. They’re a small business that cares about what they do, and it shows.

This company is fantastic to work with all around -- great communication, incredible value, transparent & fair pricing, and great results. We had several large trees in our yard that we wanted pruned and assessed and in the process we even learned all about the rest of the trees yard.

I cannot say enough good things about Grateful Trees and Bees! Not only were they extremely responsive via email and kept us updated on their scheduling, but they conducted themselves with the utmost helpfulness and professionalism at every turn. Previously to using them, we had a tree taken down by Arbormax, and after a nightmare experience with that company, we decided to try GTB instead. I am overwhelmed by the differences in these two companies! All of the mess in the yard from the tree removal was cleaned up beautifully by GTB - the holes were back-filled with soil. Straw was placed over the old stump in our front yard to facilitate grass growth. Everything was so clean that it took me a minute to realize they had finished the job! We got firewood through them as well, and when I came home not only had they delivered the firewood, but it had been stacked neatly in our firewood rack in the backyard. There is no company that I would recommend more for this kind of service.

I would highly recommend Grateful Trees and Bees to anyone who is in need of their services. Jake was knowledgeable and skilled in his work, and went above and beyond to ensure our satisfaction. His character and commitment to the work he does is an extra bonus!

Jake came over to assess several tall pines on our boundary line and some others precariously leaning towards our home. He gave an honest assessment on the health of our trees and educated us on their lifecycles. Clearly a passionate and knowledgeable expert in his field. Will be the first person to call if services are ever needed in the future.

Jake and Jennifer are so incredibly kind and passionate about the work they do! I needed a stump grinded down in my front yard, which they did quickly, efficiently, and neatly. Jake also noticed I had a dead tree limb on one of my trees and took care of it AND chopped up the limb for me. You can really feel how much everyone in the company cares for the environment and their customers. I will definitely be using them again!!

I have nothing but positive things to say about my experience with Jake and Grateful Trees and Bees. Jake and his crew removed 10 Loblolly pines from my back yard and transported them to the mill. He was always very responsive to email, calls, and texts. I received a quote and insurance information quickly. I'm certain to use Grateful Trees and Bees again in the future.

I wish I could give them 10 stars!!! I had a very large tree split in half during a storm & fall into my yard & neighbor’s yard. There were a lot of trees down in the area during that time but they got to mine very quickly. They were able to give me so much great information & not only were able to do the cleanup but also took down the rest of the damaged tree, ground the stump, re-seeded the grass in the area, & planted my new tree. I could not be more impressed! I was so stressed about the cost but they were very affordable and SO kind! HIGHLY recommend!!!

What an awesome company with an amazing approach! Jake and Jennifer are so knowledgeable and genuine! I had a beautiful Bartlett Pear tree that needed pruning and I was very nervous about hurting the tree along with the overall process. They did an excellent job and explained everything. I highly recommend GTB!! Thank you!

Jake was very down to earth and up front about the needs of my trees and encouraged me to seek other quotes. He was actually early for the estimate and was a very likable guy - he asked questions about my other plants/trees, noticed a drain system I had spent many many hard hours installing, asked about my dogs, and THEN got to the tree estimate. Obviously profit and making sales isn't his drive. He explained the work and answered any questions I had before leaving and sent the estimate by the end of the day or the next day (I don't remember which). I asked several more questions via email and received quick answers, ultimately agreed to have GTB perform the work. It was fast, professional, and apart from the freshly cut limbs and one removed tree I could barely tell they had been there at all. Plus, they got the job done in less time and 2/3 the original quoted price!
And where other crews I've had just left a big pile of rounds and debris, GTB took the time to neatly stack everything firewood style on a concrete pad I have in my woods. Not to mention the sliding scale based on what you feel you can afford and what is appropriate - a very very cool business approach. Seriously, what are you waiting for - just call or email them, I highly highly recommend them. -
Jake is fabulous! He loves trees and it shows. He came to our new house and told us about every tree in the yard, even one that would have been planted by cattle walking the field over 50 years ago. His passion and excitement is contagious. He assessed the health of all the trees and gave us a recommendation for pruning some over the next year. No high pressure sales. Just good information. He just loves what he does, and it shows. I highly recommend them.

I contacted Grateful Trees & Bees when I discovered a few dark spots on our favorite hickory tree. It was immediately clear that Jake is passionate about tree preservation. He asked me to send photos. After a chain of 10+ messages, he assessed the situation and gave me clear directions on how to care for our tree over the fall and winter.
I asked him to invoice me for the consultation but he refused. While I don't think that's fair, he has certainly gained a new customer for the future. It's rare to find this level of customer service these days. -
Friendly, professional, courteous, thorough, mindful, cost-effective, and timely!
We initially found Grateful Trees & Bees to help us get bees going in our urban landscape. After talking with Jake we decided to have them rework our yard into a living landscape with raised beds, walkways, building a mushroom cabin, fruit orchard, irrigation system, seating area, grape arbor, etc. The finished product is exactly what we envisioned and we're excited to get everything growing. When we shifted directions mid-stream, they were ready & willing to head in the new direction. And they left the site cleaned up better than they found it!
Working with Grateful Trees & Bees was a great experience. There was a continual flow of communications from Jake about the project, materials, needs and timeline. They even finished ahead of schedule....which (if you've ever hired someone to do work in your yard, around/in the house) is unheard of. Many thanks to Jake and the rest of the crew who busted their backs!
All told, we used Grateful Trees and Bees for everything on their website: felling trees, bees, and kitchen garden (which is more like a neighborhood garden) and we highly recommend them for any of these services! -
My husband and I have worked in the customer service field for 36+ years and I would have to say that Grateful Trees and Bees dedication to their customers puts them above all their competitors. We would not hesitate recommending Grateful Trees & Bees to our friends, neighbors and co-workers.
My husband and I loved our Bradford Pear tree; it was beautiful and very shady. It was always the last tree in the neighborhood to lose its leaves, but we always knew it needed to be removed one day. Our yard is small and the roots of the tree were killing the grass. Years from now the roots would have begun to destroy the sidewalks, the driveways and the streets. We just wanted to wait until the leaves fell off the tree and was close enough for planting season before we began looking for someone to do the tree removal.
It was important for us to find a company that was insured, especially given the close proximity of the neighbors and the utility lines involved. It was also important to find someone who was knowledgeable and had great customer service. We found a few local companies, but my husband and I called Grateful Trees & Bees first because Jake’s last name just happened to be the same as ours and we thought he can’t be all that bad, since he is a Pressley. Plus, Jakes’ credentials were impeccable.
Jake and Jennifer make an amazing team. They were both very responsive throughout the whole ordeal and we were impressed with the level of detail on the quote. Everything they said they would do was done and every home visit Jake made was on time and on the day he committed. We were extremely pleased. When we met Jake in person he was extremely knowledgeable and was eager to answer any questions we had, which we appreciated very much.
Now the job is complete and we couldn’t be more pleased with the outcome. We look forward to watching this tree grow, which will always be tied to the best customer service experience we have ever had.
Thank you Grateful Trees and Bees for working with us and making this process such an easy and enjoyable experience. We wish you both great success!
Sincerely,
Mike and Laura Pressley -
These guys are great. Very pleasant to work with, very efficient and hard working. Jake cares deeply about trees, so it's nice to know that they're not just a company trying to rip out as many trees as possible (and therefore charge as much as possible!). We had a good discussion about keeping trees healthy by both pruning and also sometimes removal of trees that are too close to one another. They came removed two very large trees & pruned two others, it took them less than a day so they came in under budget (and adjusted the bill accordingly). They cut the wood into appropriate lengths and stacked it all neatly for us to split into firewood in 6 months time. They also raked the yard and blew off the driveway, which hasn't looked so clean in all my life. One other thing - they charge on a sliding scale... so they provide a minimum and maximum amount that they will accept for the job. This is quite nice, as you get a chance to pay near the minimum if you're on a budget, or near the maximum if you're feeling rather "grateful" for the excellent job they did... highly recommend!
