Fidel and his crew are hard working, reliable professionals. My yard is now rid of weeds and has beautiful sod and flower beds with plants and mulch. We highly recommend them!

Unfortunately my only interaction with this business was when they destroyed the entire front of my car because they were too lazy to broom off the gravel on their landscape trailer prior to entering the roadway. The crew operating the vehicle was LAZY, and non-empathetic as well as refusing to pull over and take responsibility. Keep in mind, if it was a bit of gravel that bounced out of a contained trailer, I would semi understand, but this was piles of gravel outside the trailer bed, and on the fenders just flying into traffic when they hit a bump. Thanks for destroying my car that I recently had shipped here... Now the entire hood, fender, roof, and bumper need repainted as well as the windshield needs replaced.. Now the title is going to be branded on a collectors car, because you are LAZY! No apology, no empathy, simply laziness and a complete disregard for other peoples property.

Someone named Rudy has taken over this business. Rudy speaks very poor English. They did a poor job with my house, I had to request they come out 3 times to do basic landscaping and clean up and it ended up looking terrible. I had to pay someone else to power wash what Rudy had power washed. Rudy left streaks and dirt on the driveway and house. I will pay someone else to finish the job and make the landscaping look good. Lastly, I paid him and asked him for a receipt. He said he would email me the receipt and then forgot about it, never did it, despite my reminders. The guy has bad character, bad communication, and is incompetent.

We have used Fidel for numerous jobs around the house from spreading mulch, replacing damaged soffits, hauling off yard debris, to planting bushes. We highly recommend Fidel and his company for any of the services he offers. He is professional, his prices are reasonable, and he keeps his word!

Excellent service! These guys go above and beyond to deliver quality work and services. They installed a large quantity of quarry rock on my property and helped secure the stones by installing metal posts at no additional cost. I also used them to repaint and caulk the interior of my home. They are very patient and deliberate in their work, paying attention to details, and making suggestions along the way. Courteous and professional, I recommend them without any reservations.

These guys did a GREAT job putting out 30 cubic yards of mulch at my home! They also cleaned up the area after they were done. I can't believe how fast they are too! The company I work for uses them year round and I could not say enough of their top quality of work! THANKS GUYS!

This is an easy review for a company that goes beyond the expectations of performance and results. Though we had them bring in and spread mulch over 1.25 acres, we also had them put in a creek with rocks that covered at least an acre of land. They were meticulous and worked tirelessly with an excavator and heavy rocks despite unexpected rain and heat. The outcome..... AMAZING! They have earned a customer satisfaction rating of 5 stars! I think we'll have them take out two very large trees next!

When we bought our house, we inherited a mess: a muddy, lumpy lot, a failing retaining wall, a cracking driveway, unappealing bushes, and a large dying tree. Then, John Spivey showed up. He and his team at the Gardens of the Carolinas listened carefully to our hopes and offered creative suggestions we never would have thought of ourselves. After investigations and coordinating with our neighbors, the drainage problems were solved, and the mud gave way to plush green grass. A crane lifted the dangerous tree away. The old retaining wall came down and was replaced with a handsome stone one. Boulders and terracing transformed our front yard. John coordinated with a swimming pool company to build us a beautiful small pool with a waterfall feature. An ugly fence was replaced. An irrigation system went in, and the driveway was repaved. Artful landscape lighting was added. Finally, wonderful plants arrived, and everything was done.
Throughout the process, John and his co-workers could not have been kinder, more professional, or more helpful to us. The subcontractors were uniformly excellent as well. We are thrilled with the results; so are the neighbors. -

would use again and highly recommend -
We cannot recommend Gardens of the Carolinas too highly! They did a phenomenal job working with us on our project. We had a yard that was full of challenges - collapsed roots, unground stumps, lots of weeds and they turned it into a lush green oasis for us to enjoy! They walked us through the whole process from determining the best options for our property to installation of the sod and new deck - we could not be happier! Thank you!

Original request was for help with drainage in the backyard. John and his team offered a complete solution to our problem and made significant improvements in design. While adding some new plants, I was especially impressed that they moved older plants to new areas which helped with cost and the environment. His workers were helpful, polite and on time. We would definitely recommend them!

I'm happy to share my positive experience with Gardens of the Carolinas, who recently completed landscaping work on my property. The team, led by John, exhibited professionalism and expertise at every step. Their thorough understanding of my needs, site challenges, and budget was evident in their well-considered options, complete with pros and cons.
They efficiently addressed drainage issues by reconfiguring downspouts and adding a solid corrugated line and drainage trench, significantly improving performance, especially during heavy rain. The berm work was executed meticulously, considering contours and materials. Thoughtful plant selection and pruning transformed the property, with selective weed tree and shrub removal further enhancing its appearance.
Their attention to detail extended to ground cover installation, metal edging, mulching, and natural fieldstone addition. Under John's leadership, the project was completed on time and within budget. Kudos to John's team for their exceptional work and collaborative approach, making the process seamless. I recommend Gardens of the Carolinas for top-notch landscaping services and would use them again in the future. -
As busy working parents, my husband and I didn’t have time to properly maintain our land over the years. We couldn’t keep a lawn alive anywhere except in the front yard, and even that was a sorry patchwork of different grasses and weeds. Nut trees took over. The yard lacked color. There were almost never any bees or butterflies. Due to poor drainage, a river flowed through the back yard during heavy rain and formed a lake, causing significant topsoil erosion and bared tree roots. In the unused woodsy area, many of the trees were either unattractive or not healthy. Plentiful dead wood, English ivy, poison ivy, and periwinkle vines were an eyesore and a safety hazard. Furthermore, the back fence and railings of the front porch steps were falling apart. After over two years of investing our own sweat equity, we realized it would take many more years to remedy these issues and we needed help! That’s when I contacted Gardens of The Carolinas. From the first phone conversation with John, I knew I had found the right landscaping business to help us.
After a detailed landscape design plan was drawn up and agreed upon, our project took three weeks. The work crew was punctual, diligent, friendly, respectful, and responsive to requests and questions. They removed over 40 trees as well as the stumps and vines, expanding the usable yard and letting in much more sunlight to allow new plantings and grass to thrive. A 156-foot new fence was installed in a single day (as were new porch railings). The “natural” landscaping was replaced with four ornamental trees and a generous variety of shrubs and flowering plants. Drainage issues were corrected by grading the land and diverting water from the downspouts to underground drainage tubing. A lush, emerald-green lawn was planted from sod on all sides of the house – a huge improvement from bare clay that turned to mud in the rain! Elegant stonework included a trash can pad, decorative river jack, and stepping stone walking paths, all from bluestone. What an astonishing transformation! It is now a delight to wander through the yard and look out the windows. Bees have been visiting and I saw a butterfly yesterday. I can hardly wait until spring when the new plantings start blooming. Excellent job, GoTC! -
Gardens of the Carolina delivered a holistic landscape plan that addressed our (many) wants and needs. We had somewhat unusual requests like a basketball court, exclusively using native plants, and specific fence requirements that Gardens of the Carolinas took in stride. We aligned on a two part phased delivery approach. Once the work started, we were very impressed with the crew’s diverse skills and attention to detail. We are thrilled with our backyard oasis and look forward to enjoying it for years to come.

Our backyard had a large uphill slope, rendering most of it unusable. Additionally, there were drainage problems and limited privacy. All of these prevented us from enjoying our yard for the five years we’d lived here. With a growing family, we knew something had to change. Gardens of the Carolinas was the most responsive when we initiated initial inquiries, which continued throughout our project.
John and his team were fantastic to work with for our backyard project. The team listened to our concerns and provided an extensive long-term vision for rectifying them and making them an area we’d enjoy moving forward. Based on our immediate needs, we decided to take a phased approach by adding a timber retention wall, a stone wall with lighting, and privacy trees. They also tapped into our existing drainage solution and made it more efficient. I view this as providing us with a canvas for future projects. We are very pleased with their work and will be a repeat customer for future phases of their initial plan.
To summarize our experience with Gardens of the Carolinas:
1. Patience: We made multiple edits to find a solution within budget. John and the team always understood and respected our concerns, ensuring we were comfortable with the decisions.
2. Thoroughness: I was provided multiple options and pros/cons for every question. This reiterated their experience and gave me confidence that we were making a sound investment.
3. Seamless: their team handled everything for us, including permitting, assistance with HOA, and more, in addition to the work completed.
4. Professionalism: The crew performing the work respected concerns around noise and ensured a clean and tidy work environment. When the project was completed, they ensured the streets, sidewalks, and backyard were all in a great place, demonstrating their unwavering dedication to customer service. -
