In seven hours, the Ashland Tree Service team expertly thinning our 2 wooded acres and removed 12 non-native trees and shrubs! At a NC State Cooperative Extension workshop I saw pics of lush forest floor and the most desirable oak saplings flourishing in just four years of more sunlight.
Of tree service websites, Ashland's was superior with information and tree enthusiasm. My call was answered and an estimate scheduled within 1-2 days. Arborist Steven Beard and I enjoyed talking about trees while walking the steep property. The estimate was highly reasonable. Two days later Steven Beard and 3 team members presented early. He marked the trees as we again surveyed the two acres.
The crew communicated when needed re: pruning neglected shrubs and establishing several large piles of small logs and brush to enhance habitat for mammals. All four remained on the job all seven hours with little break. They offered me chip options and beautifully cleaned the debris from everywhere!
I am excited to plant native host plants--woodland and sun perennials and shrubs--to feed our local insects and, thus, our awesome birds. Thank you Ashland Tree Service!

I used fredin For tree removal and a very difficult one at that was hanging over house. They did great work, and very professional from quote to clean up. They guys were super friendly and accommodating. Process was super affordable and I would 100% refer them to anyone.

His pricing was very good and he was prompt in coming to give me an estimate. They ground 3 very difficult stumps because they were near my water main. They did way better than I expected. These guys were simply amazing!! I had two huge oak trees removed, stumps ground ( the woman that did that was amazing at her job!!), mulch removed and soil filled in holes. These guys were fast, professional and left everything very cleaned up before they left! I highly recommend Fredin Tree Service!! Fredin Tree Service was one of the four companies I contacted for tree removal and it offered very reasonable and competitive rate. I had two pine trees removed and a third oak tree pruned. The crew came on time, was very professional and accommodative in additional pruning requests on the spot. They cleaned the yard and driveway well after their job. We are very pleased with and have no hesitation in recommending their service.

1) Great value: Came in slightly lower than my second lowest quote, and 25% below two others.
2) Excellent communication: Followups to provide insurance certificates, confirm timing etc.
3) Terrific work: Tree removal is tree removal (pretty cool to watch, but so long as nothing goes wrong, there's only so much to be said). But Fredin and his team did a wonderful job on stump grinding and clean-up after.
4) Above and beyond: While I'd only hired Fredin to remove a large dying tree near my house, when that was a wrap he threw in trimming of trees along the driveway, which I truly appreciated (and made for a 10+ hour day for him and team).

Great service and good, friendly people. Professionals that know what they are doing when taking down a large tree. Care for my property was a priority during the work. Clean and well maintained equipment. Fair and reasonable price for the work performed. In the future, if the need arises I will call Fredin first before anyone others.

Freddy and his team his team provides unmatched service and professionalism. With plans to expand my back yard I had him cut down almost 100 trees. He cut the trees, grinded the stumps, and left a clean area within one day. Would recommend.

I found Fredin tree service through yelp. We had several branches hanging low over our driveway as well as touching the house. We've lived there for 9 years and it's very wooded area. He was extremely professional and responsive but also reasonable in pricing. He is an honest guy and works hard to accommodate your schedule and needs. I happened to come across Fredin Tree Services while google searching tree removal companies in the Durham, NC area. And let me tell you I am so glad I found them. The prompt response from when we initially talked to when he came out to give me an estimate was unmatched and by the next week they were out removing a dead tree from my backyard. He gave me a fair and reasonable price, it was fun to watch them work and because they noticed I had a fire pit they even cut some of the wood up for me to use before taking the rest away. I highly recommend their services and would use them again.

Fredin Tree Service did a tremendous job removing a dead tree we had in our backyard. Not only did they remove the tree and stump but they did it in a safe and efficient way.
