I would give them a thousand stars if a could!! They were amazing and very knowledgeable! I came in knowing nothing and Mike was patient and knew so much about plants it blew my mind! The one thing that just made me a regular customer was when he took the time show me the plants that were best for what I needed, how to take care of them, and gave me a diagram of how the plant would need to planted. There was printed papers that showed how it needed to be planted that you can take home I might add. This made me feel so touched because I have a really hard time learning verbally and people usually don’t understand it and get frustrated with me but here Mike is prepared with a drawn out diagram for people who need to see it and to help people remember… I just can’t tell you how happy it made me. Thank you guys so much!!!

Very knowledgeable about plant types and plant care. I came in with about a million and a half questions and they were able to steer me in the right direction for plant health. We'll definitely be returning.

We find ourselves at Macon Gardens often for all our gardening needs! We appreciate the knowledge provided by the Master Gardeners and the newly graduated NCSU staff. We feel comfort in knowing we are getting the best well rounded knowledge, but also Macon’s is a place that is invested in keeping their methods up to date and sustainable. We love spending our time and money on their plants, which always do well in our yard with their help.

Mike, Kristen and Keith at Macon are terrific! Having moved from another state across the country, gardening looks totally different here in NC. Mike and Kristen’s knowledge of trees and what I was trying to accomplish have been so helpful.

Add to them, Keith planted my new hollies and a couple other large bushes—he too knows a ton, and was so great, even beat the estimated time I was quoted for delivery.

I've always been able to find what I need there. I've purchased a few butterfly bushes, some herbs, as well as some other random perennials. Everyone has been very helpful and pleasant there are so many items to choose from, both indoors and out. Indoors, you can find beautiful flower pots, bird baths, succulents, and other items as well as the cashier. Out front, they typically have bird houses for sale as well as other hanging potted flowers or trees. Stop by and check out the beauty! One of these years, i will go early enough in the season to purchase some pansies, which were my grandmother's favorite flowers.

Wonderful group of people, been doing business with them for a few years now, must say service is top notch, also offers a lot of knowledgeable advice as well. Really recommend them in regards to purchasing plants for the long run. Have purchase an assortment of oriental grasses and shrubbery in the past will all of them still going strong, hope the recent grape vines do the same which I’m confident they will.

We had an absolutely incredible experience with Mike and his team over at Macon Gardens! It was our first time renovating our landscaping in front of our house. We had received some advice from other local nurseries and Mike was able to redirect us in the proper direction. He went above and beyond to understand our vision, which plants would meet our needs and desires, and even with the exceptional service and quality of the plants, the final amount came to about 20 to 30% less than what we had received as quotes from other nurseries! We refer everyone to Macon Gardens now and want to give a BIG thank you to Mike!

Visited Macon Gardens for the first time yesterday and spoke with Shawn. He was so friendly and knowledgeable! Took his time to speak with us about issues we were having and introduce us to new plants. Even on the way home my husband commented on the excellent customer service Shawn provided!

We recently moved to Wake Forest from out of state. We bought a model home and wanted to redo the builder grade landscaping that was installed. Doing our research ahead of time I came across the Macon Gardens website, read the Google reviews, and I emailed owner Mike, he replied immediately.

We set up a date a few days after we closed for him to come take a look, measure, and draw up a design with plants of his choice knowing the NC climate and sun exposure of our house. Within 10 days he had everything to me via email, a plot plan/survey of our house/lot, beds marked, plant list with pricing, triple shred mulch, what could be saved for replant and what new plants he’d add. I told him I’d go with his suggestions as the professional but I wanted color.

Well let me tell you…Mike delivered! The landscaping looks amazing! Mike set a date a few weeks out, Keith and another guy texted me prior to arrival. The 2 of them worked for 2.5 days removing all the old landscaping, sod and some mulch, and installing the new beautiful, colorful, and well thought out plants, mulch and creating new larger more creative beds. Keith and employees are extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and hard working.

I never visited Macon Gardens, Mike handled everything at my house or thru email which is what we wanted. I’m sure it would be fun picking your own plants at his business but frankly I don’t think anyone could have done it better. We are very pleased. We’ve talked to several neighbors, and several have stopped at our house to ask who did our landscaping.

Excellent family owned business. Prices are good for the QUALITY work they do. We will hire them back to do a few other projects with trees. We’d highly recommend them.

Friendly, knowledgeable, and they have everything! I went looking for a very specific plant and they had multiple versions. I loved this place.

Super friendly and knowledgeable younger tall man, he gave his honest opinions and happily told us all we could need to know about trees to help us pick out what was right for us. We love the respectful opinion rather than just being told what we want to hear. And he sure knows his native plants and trees!

Mike from Macon Gardens stands by the quality of his plants. Also a genius when it comes to Bermuda Grass.

Fantastic garden center, 10/10. Friendly and helpful staff, really impressive selection of healthy plants for very good prices. I do a lot of native plant gardening and was happily surprised by how many they had. I think there's something for just about every type of gardener here. Definitely stop by if you haven't been before.

Macon are a shining reason why shopping local is best! Everyone is always tremendously helpful with anything — making recommendations about indoor/outdoor plants, installation, and even repotting. We are not green thumbs, but they’ve guided us and answered all our questions so that all our new plants can thrive! Highly recommended!

What a gem! ✨️ My mom has been searching for a small Norfolk Island Pine for some time, so we decided to drop by Macon Gardens. We were not disappointed! The plants are all so healthy and beautiful with a wide variety of options. The staff is welcoming, knowledgeable, and helpful, and you can tell they pour love into the plants here. It's definitely worth a visit!

Absolutely love this place! Second time so far this year and the workers are so knowledgeable and helpful! They even offer for you to bring your house plant in if you are struggling with it so they can give tips on what it needs. Will be my go to spot!

Great experience here! Everyone was really helpful and patient as I tried to plan my front beds with 2 toddlers in tow. Great selection too, definitely will be back.

Love going here. I trust them. Not just tell you what you want to hear. They give good honest advice. Quality of plants is great and reasonably priced. Always answer any questions. I bought this Juniper to train as a Bonsai.
