Squatch This did an awesome job fixing our road, I highly recommend them for all your landscaping needs!

Brian and crew did an amazing job prepping my yard for seed. I had taken down roughly 20-30 trees and needed stumps ground, topsoil brought in and the yard graded. Squatch this handled it all! From planning to finish product, Brian was a pleasure to work with. Professionalism, punctuality, excellent communication and quality work at a fair price! Whatever you need Squatch This can handle it!

I will refer to them as STLM for brevity
Long review so TL;DR:
1. What STLM tells you / what you request may not be what they actually do
2. As of this review date, STLM is not skilled or resourced to handle large / dangerous tree work
3. People skills / customer service is lacking
The details:
- I had a signed contract for them to start work on 9/11/24; they did not. They stated that it was looking like they would be able to start first thing Monday morning, 9/16. Since I had planned around the stated date in the contract (9/11), the new timing didn't work for me, so we moved it to a start date of 10/7/24. So the contract was broken before they even began work.
- When Brian quoted the job, he stated that they would bring a spider lift to cut limbs off of a large oak tree before trying to cut it. The tree was leaning towards my front yard / house and all of the limbs were on the side it was leaning towards. They did not bring a lift or attempt to cut any limbs off of that tree. On 10/8, they attempted to cut that tree and only had their skid loader set up to try to push it over to the opposite direction of the way it was leaning (pic) - unsurprisingly, this did not work. They added chains and ropes after this to help hold the tree and try to pull it over using their truck + the skid loader. But their ropes were too small for the job (I know they broke at least one of them). When I asked why they didn't bring a lift to cut the limbs first, I was told "the lift wasn't available today." After 6-7 hours of them being stuck on that tree, my neighbor graciously offered to contact someone to come bail them out; STLM accepted that offer. After about an hour, a separate crew with the know-how and correct equipment showed up, rigged the tree and pulled it over. By this point it was almost dark so the tree was pushed far enough out of the road to make it passable. Before STLM left, I told them that they could come clean that oak up in the morning but that would be all I needed from them since they took a very foolish and unnecessary risk that could have seriously damaged my home. I didn't trust them to take down any of the remaining large trees. STLM offered no apologies, only defensiveness.
- This one is minor, but an example of them not following directions. There were oak logs and poplar logs. My neighbor said he would take the oak logs. So I told STLM the following morning (10/9) to put the oak logs on my neighbor's side of the road and move the poplar logs to my side. After they cleaned up the mess, they put all of the logs on my side. Before they left after the cleanup, I mentioned that I had requested the oak logs be left on my neighbor's side. The response was "well, I just figured I'd get them out of that guy's way." Well, that's not what I requested you do.
- Also minor, I found that my mailbox was broken after they left. It looked normal, but the mailbox was just sitting on the post - the board securing it was broken loose and the post was loose as well. Guessing the skid loader backed into it or maybe it happened when they were messing with the ropes and trucks. Idk. It wasn't broken before the work started.
- It looked like they were about half done overall, so I paid them less than half to account for the hours of wasted time on the large oak, but was told "this number won't work." They thought that an additional $1,400 was a fair price. I said that I could pay them less that that and "keep my opinions to myself", but Brian told me to "have at it" so I paid him what he wanted and they left. I'm guessing this review will cost STLM more than $1,400, but apparently that extra cash at the time was more important to them.
- STLM states they offer lots of services. They're probably fine if you need dirt work, brush clearing, and maybe stump removal. I can't speak to work on foundations, retaining walls, septic installs, driveways, SOD, or lawn maintenance. But for certain, if you need serious tree work done, look elsewhere. Hire a crew with the experience and correct equipment to take down your trees safely. -
I hired Squatch This Land Management to clear and grade our property, they did an amazing job! They showed up on time, worked quickly, and left the site looking better than we imagined. The crew was professional, respectful, and clearly take pride in their work. Highly recommend for any land clearing or excavation needs!

Jon and team were extremely helpful. He came out to evaluate my problem the same day I called for questions regarding drainage. 1 week later he and his crew implemented their solution. I waited to review their work until we had some decent rain storms. We've had two long and hard thunderstorms. So far everything is working. I recommend Superior for you landscape questions and needs.

I want to say Superior Lawn and Landscaping was very helpful. They were super efficient with coming in and getting the job done! I have more work for them so I’m very pleased to say I will be using them for all my lawn care needs moving forward.

We had work completed by this company in September 2023. We got three quotes, and they were the most affordable and, yet, went above and beyond our expectations. We have a large steep hill as part of our front yard that is constantly plagued with weeds, and we just wanted a stop-gap to keep it under control until we can do intentional landscaping in that area. Superior Lawn cleared it and covered it first in landscaping fabric and then with pine needles. They also cleared our brick patio of weeds growing between the bricks. Those were the tasks we hired them to do but, in addition to those, they left us some extra pine needles and leftover clover seeds from another job for us to use for other projects. Additionally, Jonathan was super communicative, helpful, and responsive throughout the process. We will be using Superior Lawn and Landscaping for all of our landscaping needs.

Jonathan was very helpful in grading and seeding my backyard. He was the only one who contacted me when I contacted other companies nearby. He was pleasant to talk to and answered all my questions. I plan to contact Superior Lawn and Landscaping for future projects and highly recommend everyone else to do the same for your lawn care needs. Thank you, Jonathan!

Jonathan & crew were quick and helpful, and extremely affordable! He really went above and beyond; in addition to helping with some re-grading to prevent water damage & painting drylok, he also disposed of some old home repair materials for us! Will definitely work with again!

Jonathan and his team are AMAZING! They came out quickly to discuss our needs and give us an estimate. They did an amazing job grading our backyard and simplifying it so we would have more usable play space. They came in under the initial estimate because they found a better way to do what we wanted, so we are hiring them for a second job with the money we saved. We are beyond pleased with the whole experience. I highly recommend them!

Jon was easy to work with and made changes in his schedule to get to my project in a timely manner. He cut multiple trees near my house and did an excellent job. I would recommend these guys to anyone needing landscaping and/or tree work!

Jonathan exceeded our expectations to help address major drainage issues in our yard that others couldn't fix. Additionally, he built up an existing retaining wall and created a level seating area for a fire pit. He provided a timely and reasonable quote for the jobs, and did excellent work!

Jonathan and his crew at Superior Lawn and Landscape did a fabulous job on our new home construction lawn prep.
I was immediately impressed with his knowledge and common sense approach. After getting a couple other outlandish quotes, it was refreshing to have someone that didn’t want to be wasteful and sky high overpriced.
Extensive grading was needed to reduce water channeling and overall smoothing and contouring. Their skills with a skid-steer were something to behold. When they finished, our lawn was properly graded, flower beds built up and planted and the lawn was all seeded and strawed.
I have waited all summer to have this work done and I couldn’t be happier with the outcome. Our neighbors have all commented on how great everything looks. -
We recently moved into a house we renovated. Unfortunately it was too late in the season to do anything with our sad yard and landscape. We decided we needed to get going after the first of the year. Jonathan with Superior Lawn and Landscaping was our choice, after meeting with several other companies. From the first meeting, through our first phase of the plan, we've been nothing but pleased with the knowledge, consultations, and work that has been done. Excited to see the final results! I can't speak highly enough about Jonathan and Superior. Perfect name for this business.. Superior knowledge, superior service, superior results!!

Jonathan was very prompt returning my call and scheduled an appoint to assess my problem the next day. He explained very thoroughly what was needed to be done to repair the sink hole, the price (which was extremely reasonable) and how long it would take. True to his word, he and his assistant finished the job sooner than planned, and then re-seeded my back yard. He was very courteous and professional. The work was done exceedingly well, and he patiently answered all of my questions. I have referred him to several friends and family, and will continue to do so.

This is the 2nd time I have had the pleasure of working with Jonathan and his crew! They show up when they say and do what they promise! This time it was 4 loads of vines and weeds and rotten trees! Can’t wait to begin the third phase of making my yard the oasis I’m dreaming of!! Thank you Jonathan!

Jonathan and his crew did an excellent job replacing a failing retaining wall for us. He is extremely responsive, worked us into his schedule quickly, and followed up throughout the project. The work was professional and high quality and we are very happy with the outcome. We recommend Superior Lawn and Landscaping and will be calling them for future projects!

We hired Jonathan to install french drain in my yard to stop garage water seepage. The entire communication was very smooth, he is responsive and patient, answered all my questions, big or small. He finished the project within two days by himself, fast and professional! We are very blessed to have found him, no water in garage first rain after the new drain was completed, we are excited to test out this week when more rain is on the way, lol… Can’t say thank you enough!! He is definitely on my list for future project!!!

Jonathan was great, very nice and professional. He regraded my front yard, fixed a drainage issue, and landscaped in front of my house. Would recommend Superior Lawn And Landscaping, Inc.

Superior Lawn and Landscaping did fantastic work in our sloped backyard. We called them because we wanted a dry creek to control rainfall runoff. They cleared out brush, brought in a lot of topsoil, and then contoured the entire area to direct the water into the dry creek that they subsequently built.
We told Jonathan that we wanted different sizes of rock for the creek bed, and we wanted the rocks to be different shades of brown, tan, and gray. We didn't know that this was an unusual request. Jonathan went to six different places looking for the rock sizes and colors we wanted before he found the perfect rock mix for us. We also wanted our creek to have one or two large, sweeping curves, and he made sure it did. Finally, we wanted a walking path with pavers, and Superior Lawn and Landscaping installed that, too. Throughout it all, Jonathan was very friendly, courteous, and professional. We liked the work so much that we intend to hire Superior Lawn and Landscaping for fall and winter cleanup of our property.
They do wonderful work at a reasonable price -
Had a tree removed and replaced with sod today. Looks good. Thank you.
