Great experience–Tanner and Chris cut back the massive oak over our house in no time at all and did an amazing job. They were extremely friendly, efficient, and the quality of work was top notch. Thanks to Tyler as well for coming out and steering us in the right direction on the work that needed to be done. I wouldn't hesitate to call Lusk again.

Updated Post from 2020 — We recently had a large red oak tree fall and it created an unstable and dangerous situation with some other trees that could have potentially fallen on my house. David came out immediately to look at it and sent his crew the very next day to address this emergency (sometimes they are booked quite far out, so we are very thankful for David helping us out this way). It was a very large job and the crew did a phenomenal job. Tanner, who was leading our crew, is truly phenomenal at his work. They could not reach some trees with their crane because of our particular lot and house situation so he went up and rigged my 85-foot tree and dropped each and every piece from the canopy and the entire trunk precisely next to my fence without breaking the fence or any of the other small trees we were trying to save---if I would not have seen it myself, I would not have believed it to be possible. We really love nature and trees and Lusk Tree service is very conservative and they try to preserve and save as as many trees and as much of your yard as possible. If you need work done on your trees, don't look anywhere else, these folks are the best in town and provide very reasonable rates. They are well worth the wait for a job if they happen to be booked and if it's an emergency they really come through also.

Original Post from 2018 — We are very happy with the work the Lusk Tree Service crew has done recently on our property. David Lusk came and gave us great advice on taking care of the natural woodland behind a new house we purchased. We were pleasantly surprised when the estimate for removing three trees too close to the house came back super reasonable. His crew arrived a few weeks later and worked in between rain storms to complete the job. They took great care in maneuvering through some tight spaces in our backyard, without harming any more vegetation than absolutely necessarily. We were particularly impressed by the professional conduct of every single worker and appreciated how courteous they were. Lusk Tree Service came highly recommended from family friends and they did not disappoint. We will definitely be calling them again to help with any future forest or tree management issues so that we can properly care for our beautiful woodland.

Stephen, Tyler, and Kris did a great job removing the huge limb that fell in our backyard. They were very polite and professional and did a great job cleaning up after themselves.

We entertained four quotes before choosing Lusk Tree Service. We immediately appreciated the fact that their representative Derek, a certified arborist, is generous with his knowledge and approaches tree care with conservationist values. We also liked that Derek made on-site visits while the work was being done; and that he was so responsive to our texts, sometimes even after 5 p.m.! We did not get to meet any of the crew, but their work speaks volumes in terms of care and quality. The trees look happier, we feel safer, and we believe that this investment adds value to our home. They came and removed 12 trees from our yard and also did stump grinding. Entire job took 3 days as many were large trees. Just excellent work they left the yard clean and perfect for what we plan to use the space for. Thank you and highly recommend!! I left off James wanted to make sure I mentioned James and Tyler.

Highly recommend Lusk! We needed to prune our large Deodar Cedar. We chose Lusk based on their knowledge and recommendations from others. Tyler came out and talked with us about the health of our tree and the work they could provide. Stephen was our foreman for the job. Stephen showed up on time with his team - Kris and Tyler. They were professional, proficient, and safe. Cleaned up old debris around the tree as well - that pile! Afterwards, he discussed the job and the health of the tree. The tree and area look great. Even though I was saddened that our beautiful pine tree was dying, I was heartened by the exceptional customer service provided by Stephen and his team when they came out to take the tree down. They were completely professional talking with me before they started and took extreme measures to protect our lawn and other landscaping in the area and cleaned up the area completely when they were finished.. While I never want to lose a tree, I will ALWAYS call on Lusk/Davey Tree to help me in the future! And Andy is always the BEST when it comes to giving advice on how to best care for our trees!!

The Lusk crew are hardcore professionals. They removed 18 pines, a diseased oak, and two maples from our yard in 2021. Excellent service and pricing, accurate billing, and attention to safety. I highly recommend them for any tree work, both removal and trimming.

The work performance was great. We had to have ‘dead limb removal’ performed on a very tall white oak (approximately 75-100 ft tall). Lusk sent a climber to perform the work. He did a great job and the neighborhood got to watch his talent and we’re all very impressed. Thanks Lusk. We will definitely use your services again!

Tyler, Steve and a crew showed up on time and got right to work removing a several dead trees and doing extensive pruning around the property. They completed what I thought would be an 8 hour job in about 4.Their work was excellent and they left our property clean. They were prompt, professional and courteous. I will definitely use them again and cannot recommend them enough

We had a wonderful experience with Lusk! Tyler was so helpful in advising us in our tree care. The crew were timely, professional, and hard working- they went above and beyond what we were expecting and left our yard as neat as could be. They took down a huge beech tree, and trimmed and pruned numerous others around our roof. To top it off, they were so kind as our toddler watched (from the safety of the window :) ) in wonder and offered friendly waves as they worked. We appreciate their diligence in caring for our trees and from that, our home! Thank you!

Lusk Tree Care Service did an excellent job trimming and pruning the Hackberry tree in our back yard area. I appreciated the thorough estimate from Derek. The three gentlemen that came to trim, prune and cable the tree did an excellent job. They were on time, were very careful trimming, pruning and cabling the tree and cleaned up everything before they left.

Lusk Tree Service is fantastic!! A tree fell on our home during a recent storm in Winston-Salem on a Thursday afternoon. Tyler Littman from Lusk arrived Friday morning to assess our situation. Tyler was in touch every step of the way. The crew that removed our tree: Stephen (foreman), Tyler, James, Kris and Tanner were excellent, safe, professional. I highly recommend Lusk Tree Service!!

Highly recommend Lusk! We needed to prune 5 large oak trees with narrow access, nearby overhead utility lines, and outbuildings beneath the trees. We contracted Lusk for their technical capability and skill. Tanner came out the day after we requested the estimate, and Stephen was our foreman for the job. Stephen showed up on time and with a 90-ft backyard aerial lift. He was professional, proficient, and safe. The trees look great, and we could not be happier. Thank you Stephen and Tanner!

I highly recommend using Lusk Tree Services! Tyler, James and his crew were very professional, courteous, and hard working. You could tell they knew what they were doing from talking to them and watching how they worked. They were very organized and focused from the time they arrived until they finished the job.
