Rick Curtis Hardscapes

Rick came very quickly to do an appraisal and called back promptly with the bid. However, after I asked him to send it in writing, he did not. I emailed through the website (as he asked to to leave my email) two times with no response either time. I called him, and he said he sent the bid. He did not. In business, if a person does not want to do a job, I would rather a person be honest and say that. It is quite frustrating!

I just had a beautiful stone patio installed by Rick and his team. Rick was very easy to work with. He even showed me another type of stone that he thought I might like better than the one I was originally going to choose. He was right! I did like it better! I highly recommend Rick!! He's a very nice guy too.

This is the second time I've used Rick Curtis for a flagstone walk. This time, I needed a patio walkout from a side entrance with a walkway to the drive. The original house was built with nothing more than gravel surfaces for the walkout and path.

Rick answers the phone, comes personally, and inspects the project. He comes up with a quote which reflects the true amount of work and effort to do the job right. On the last job, he was the only estimate that realized a water conduit would be necessary to siphon the water under the walkway during rain.

His workers raised the patio to be correct for the foundation and set the pavers in the walkway to meet the patio with a bluestone paver. They also raised the window well with pavers to match the patio height.

There was a small bump in the completion of the project when it was realized that one of the steps had paint stains. Without any prodding he was out the next day with his men and power cleaned the steps.

His price and estimate was at the high end of other estimates. But, the project was completed on time and the result was great. Finding a contractor who is true to his word, completes the job, is willing to change or alter the job based on how it progresses, and stands by his work is rare.

I give him five stars.
