I want to share our on going debacle with Terminix (Cincinnati branch) for exclusion work.

On May 20th Terminix comes out to do an assessment. We agree to have them seal our home on May 28th. We agree to the terms and were asked how we wanted to pay. We provided a credit card, which is different than what we use for routine pest control. A note was allegedly made and the appointment was scheduled.

On May 28th, Terminix does not show up as scheduled. We proactively called and learned they scheduled it for the wrong day. They were able to make adjustments and get people out that afternoon—which is great. The technicians informed us that they did not have the proper pieces to correctly seal the garage door and someone is on their way. Technician C shows up and says he doesn’t have what he needs and will come back on May 29th. He called 30 minutes before his scheduled time stating he needs to cancel.

On May 30th he shows up and attempts to seal the garage door for three hours. He was told by his boss to attempt to fix it regardless of not having the correct part. He informed my husband that he does not have the correct seal and they need to order it. We were informed that they would order the correct size seal and get it corrected. The seal they installed was peeling and falling off.

On Friday, May 30th, Terminix billed the wrong card and the job still wasn’t complete. Corporate informed us that they are not to bill until the job is done—that didn’t happen in our situation.

We were on vacation from May 31st to June 10th and heard nothing. My husband called on June 11th and was connected with the manager. Arrangements were made for the manager to come put the seal on the door on Monday, June 16th.

We get a reminder text on Sunday and he no-shows on Monday. My husband sends him a message and called him on Monday & Tuesday. After getting ghosted, I called him on Wednesday and he answered. I explained the above situation and he assures me that he has the correct seal.

He comes out on Friday, June 20th and worked on the garage door for 3 hours. He explained that he needs to order the correct seal to which I responded we already discussed that a larger seal was needed.

At this point we told him we were done and wanted to hire a new company. He said he wanted to come out and try to fix it again with the correct seal. I asked him to work with his boss to issue a full refund.

He comes out today to install the correct seal and states it is fixed and they would not be returning our money. I asked him to connect me with his boss and I was told he’d pass along my concerns.

The picture included is allegedly a correct seal and a job completed. The gap is worst then when they started and a cat could fit through that opening. Thankfully our exterior security cameras captured all the conversations and false promise and botched work.

The original charge was $1800 and on June 10th they did issue a $400 refund and we were reassured the job would be done correctly. We appreciate this refund but the job isn’t done. I rather be charged the full amount and have the job done correctly. Again, corporate informed us we are not to be billed until the job is complete.

We have called corporate several times. Tonight we called them again and are suppose to hear from a corporate rep. I asked to speak to Brandy today and again was told my concerns would be passed along but there was no indication that he would call me.

I hope corporate will step in and correct the situation as the branch has been given several opportunities to resolve the situation.

If you made it this far, I hope this saves you the headache. You may want to consider using a different company. We didn’t think twice because we’ve had such great success with pest control through Terminix.
