Tree reviews in Columbus, Ohio

James has helped us with our tree removal needs 2 years in a row. He is extremely knowledgeable about the different types of trees and plants in the area. His prices are great and he and his team are very professional. They are very thorough in their work. We highly recommend them!

Sykes Tree Service has provided tree trimming, stump and shrub removal, and branch removal at my home. I am a repeat customer and service has always been completed in a timely and professional manner. James is a great communicator and knowledgeable. He has the client’s interest in mind. Work is excellent and when it comes to clean up, the beds and lawn are in better condition than before the crew arrived. I highly recommend Sykes!

We have used James and his team for multiple projects now! Tree trimming, tree removal and stump grinding - all were completed efficiently and for a very fair, competitive price! I was worried that the tree trimming would damage our lawn / the tree removal would leave behind a mess of mulch and wood - neither was the case! The team did a great job picking up any and all debris, leaving the property looking better than when they found it! Would highly recommend Sykes Tree Service to anyone looking for great service at a great price!

We've had James out three different times to help with our tree and shrub removal needs. Over the years James and his team have torn out several invasive honeysuckle, lots of yews and some other deep shrubs for us. Not only are his prices reasonable, he has the right equipment that allows him to work quickly. His team is professional and friendly. James has a wealth of horticulture knowledge. He has helped guide us through the decision making process to achieve our goals of reducing the number of high maintenance shrubs in our yard without sacrificing aesthetic appeal. We appreciate the timely communication and great work that Sykes Tree Service always provides!

Having a tree fall down in a recent storm . I reached out to 5 companies Sykes is the only one to reach back that day. They came out the next day while only one other company reached back the next week I would highly recommend them and they are very professional and did an excellent job and clean up.

They do exceptional work at a fair price. They are very knowledgeable, skilled, and equipped. They clearly communicate what is involved. They make it easy to do business with them. As so many reviews state, they left our yard better then before they came.

Had them come out to trim up two trees-did a nice job to get our trees under control. When it was all done you couldn’t even tell they were here because they cleaned up so well! Attention to detail was on point. Great to work with! No before pics, but the Ash had some dead sections and needed to be lifted from the house. The locust was wild, with several dead limbs, now tamed.

Sykes Tree Service has been fantastic. The team removed a few trees/stumps and trimmed the remaining appropriately. James is very helpful/educational on proper care/maintenance, and provided recommendations for replacements. Very happy with our service.

James and his team did an excellent job. They came on time, removed a tree, pruned a few trees and cleaned up everything. I will definitely use them again.

I highly recommend Sykes Tree Service. They recently trimmed two trees for me, including one with very large, still-attached branches that had fallen across three different neighbors' yards (I live on a triangular lot). Despite the complexity, they handled everything with precision, caused no damage to any fences, and the tree now looks like a fancy new gentleman! (See pictures.)

My neighbor and I also hired them to remove a pine that straddled our property lines. In every interaction, Mr. Sykes was prompt, professional, and informative. He clearly prioritizes customer satisfaction. On top of that, the crew left our yards completely pristine. Excellent service all around.

Based on recommendations from others in our Hilliard neighborhood, we hired James to remove three large arbor vitae trees from our back yard. He and his two other crew members did a great job in a tight space. They were able to schedule the job in a reasonable length of time and left the site in good condition, including grinding the stumps. I would recommend him!

Highly recommend Sykes Tree Service. Consult was completed in a timely manner. Provided realistic expectations for the job I was needing done and completely over- delivered on the results. They worked quick and efficiently! Couldn't be happier with the results.

The price was just a bit better than a few other quotes. Justin did an excellent job and his crew worked together amazingly. Their clean up was perfect. Above and beyond our expectation!

This Company was amazing!! From their expertise, equipment ( second to none) professionalism. excellent at clean up,& very inexpensive for quality of work they do!! Highly recommend!!!

I have used Justin and his crew multiple times. They've done a great job, are friendly and professional, and go above and beyond to make sure things are done right! Will definitely use them again.

Great prices and service! They took out our 75ft maple tree, in a single day. Very friendly and helpful advice. Loved how they were insured. I would definitely recommend them to anyone and I would use them again if needed.

Perfectly executed. I hired Justin to prune an walnut tree that was growing over my roof and into the neighbors space. He did exactly what I wanted for a great price. I had a free estimate in a few days and he came and did the job exactly when he said he would. Cleaned up everything after as well. In and out in a couple hours, very professional. I will be using him again if needed!

Had a dead pine tree and a couple large dead tree limbs removed. Quote was very close to others I received, seems like all the local places charge about the same. They stood out for being very knowledgeable and not at all pushy during the estimate process, and good communication when they needed to reschedule. Justin, Eva & team did a great job, and also appreciate that Justin passed on contact info for another arborist who may be able to provide free mulch.

I’ve had three trees removed now and gotten advice for caring for the many more in my yard. That advice was free and will probably save me thousands of dollars in the long run. Justin does a great job, has proper equipment, is experienced, cleans up the mess, and charges reasonable rates. Will use again.

Knowledgeable and fair price. We have trusted them for years to care for our trees.

Justin and his crew are top notch! Super fast response and very fair estimate (lower than others). They took out a 50 foot maple and ground the stump with precision and care for highly valued undergrowth. No damage to nearby trees, shrubs and shade plants whatsoever. Clean up like they were never here. In & out in under 3 hours. Highly recommended!
