Paid a 5500 deposit in November. No work has been done and VERY minimal communication has been had. now we have sent dozens of emails and calls that we would like to cancel our project and get a refund and every one of them is being ignored. I have seen multiple reviews on various platforms of this same experience lately. He also goes by the business name of turf trimmers FYI. BUYER PLEASE BE AWARE. I would highly suggest you look else where for honest services

Hired Bob last fall to put a French drain in our yard. This spring I have significant areas that are still holding water and not draining properly. I have simply tried to reach out to Bob via email, phone, text, multiple times asking if he would come out just to take a look. He has completely ignored me and won’t even give a courtesy call back. Starting to see more and more reviews with similar stories. I would highly recommend hiring a different company as we spent over $10,000 and our issue isn’t even resolved properly.

Heed the multiple poor reviews and warnings about Bob and Drain my Yard on Google, Yelp and BBB. Same experience here. My August 2025 backyard job was to put a Y shaped invisible french drain to go on either side of a mulched island bed, and then out 75' to the culvert. The drain has not been that effective. But the disaster was the lawn restoration. The Y is a big bulge in the yard-he decided to overbuild it figuring it would settle. Seeding seemed OK, but used way too much straw and it was laid carelessly. In some places - it was 5-6" deep. Way to heavy to grow grass underneath especially when wet with required watering. Couldnt mow properly over the hump since it was so high - the mower would bottom out. After multiple calls/emails/texts over about 10 weeks, he finally sent a couple of his guys out in November. His plan - to run over the hump with his trencher, hoping the weight and the crawler tracks would knock it down. Had to abort, as it was chewing up the yard too much. I told him that was not a good plan. We agreed, since it was now mid November and we were getting snow, we would wait and figure it out in Spring. Come late March -sent him three texts with no reply. Finally, early on a Monday morning in April, he shows up un-announced, didnt check in, and did the same thing - ran over the hump with his trencher, leaving big muddy track marks on the hump, but did not reduce it. I had specifically told him not to do this again. They threw a bunch more straw, over the long hump, and no apparent seed I can see. Just "covering tracks" literally with straw. Now, still have the hump, a chewed up 75 foot section of yard a bunch of straw, and no grass on that long area 8 months after the job. This will take a major, time consuming fix, likely requiring a tiller, soil, and re-seed. Just doesn't know what he is doing, and wont properly fix the problem they created. And I still get big puddles in the yard, including new ones from the high/low he created.

I approved and paid for a proposal for drainage work last December 2025; work was not completed. He did not return my calls and eventually canceled his phone service. He has a new phone number but does not returned my calls to date.

Paid in full and work has not been done. Has been nearly 9 months. No communication at all in last three months.I was ripped off.

We hired Drain My Yard to fix a few broken downspout drains and evaluate an area of our yard for a potential French drain solution. After scoping our downspout drains with a camera to find out where the clogs were, they replaced the drains from where they were broken and repaired the lawn as well. They also installed a French drain in an area that had been giving us a soggy lawn for years. Both the downspout drains and the French drain are working beautifully and our yard is finally dry. We had a downspout that was disconnected and the underground drain pipe was clogged from when we purchased the home a few years ago. Bob diagnosed that problem and came up with a good plan to correct it. Although the harsh winter got in the way, the first time the weather allowed it he replaced the drain pipe and reconnected the downspout. Beyond that, he found an area just upstream from the known problem that was also clogged and fixed that as well (without charging extra). As part of our service they did a camera scan of all the house drains, and knowing that all our drains (including our sump pump drain) are working well gives us peace of mind. Bob was great to work with through this process, even though I live in another state (my son lives in our Ohio home).

Bob and his crew were awesome from day one. After the inspection, we found out all of my downspouts were collapsed. I had a tight deadline with a big life event coming up, and they showed up—even worked through the rain—to make sure everything stayed on schedule. They went above and beyond: cleaned up the yard, regraded it, planted new grass, and even power-washed the driveway to get rid of the dirt. It’s that kind of attention to detail that really stood out. I’m a fan now and would confidently recommend them to anyone needing drainage work or repairs.

I am happy with the drain itself, but disappointed with the restoration process. The company is great to work with and easy to get ahold of though. My yard (grass) did not recover from the system being put in but I was told that they fix everything before they leave. I have concave settling of dirt next to a sidewalk that they tunneled under. I called and messaged about the dirt and was told it would be fixed, but was never contacted again.

I can't enough good things about Bob and Drain My Yard. I honestly thought my swappy backyard was a lost cause. I started learning about french drains systems and for 3 years my husband and I would watch DIY videos, researching the cost of all the materials. Every year we would say "this is the year", but it is huge job and needs to be done correctly with the right gradations so the water runs off properly. I had no idea what type of company installs these and then I found BOB!!

He didn't want to go right into quoting for a french drain until he knew it would actually solve the problem. He did an inspection with his cams to determine there was nothing wrong with the downspouts that we could in fact benefit from a french drain. Because I had done so much research I can confidently say his prices are very fair and competitive. He runs a really honest business.

Well, 150ft of pipe later I have a fully functional backyard! In the past if it rained the day before, you still were not able to walk around the backyard for few days after. Now, if it rains even an hour later there is no mud pit!

Myself, my husband and my dog (well maybe not so much she loved the mud...) are so grateful for Bob and his services.
