Overall they did a decent job. The generator works good. It did however take 3 months to install because of various screwups…hit a wire in the wall, township testing for inspection failed twice for different things. Nothing that was unfixable but i did have to call several times to find out what was goin on and why things were taking months to get done. I suppose I would recommend them o my because I didn’t have to fight anyone to get the mistakes fixed, they did this without complaint but it’s an install that should take 1 week tops.

We had several things done by GLIC. We were very pleased. Robert and Haven't were our technicians. They worked with us and were so friendly and professional. It was total pleasure. We felt it was a job well done. We highly recommend them and recommend the same gentleman we had. You won't be sorry thanks for sending them our way Drew

Paid to have a complete electrical panel replaced with labeling of the circuits along with replacement of some outdoor outlets. Showed up late multiple times without any response. Bad quality work. Left me without water after they left and even called the emergency line after hours with no response. Work started 5/17/24 and not “complete” until 6/2. Found after work was “done” their fix was not done right. I spent over 3k for their services and it was a waste of every penny. Will not recommend to anyone.

Don't walk run away. Call anyone else. It will be cheaper and done correctly. Don't bother leaving a bad review they figured out a way to get them taken down.

3 weeks ago we had a breaker go out during a storm. It only tripped one breaker that connects to our son and daughters bedrooms. We contacted our insurance and they told us to find a local electrician to come out. We called GLIC and had an appt scheduled for Tuesday. In the meantime we had our commercial electrician friend come over to see if he could address the problem. In one hour he had it figured out that it was some wire between two outlets in our daughters room. He turned off power to these two outlets so we would have half power in our children’s rooms. Fast forward to Tuesday we explain what our friend found to the electrician. He took FIVE hours to tell me he found that it is between those two outlets and he is “stumped” and can’t figure out what was wrong. He was apologetic but I was so devastated that he just ran the bill up for 5 hours and NOTHING was fixed. We were told they would work with our insurance and we would not be charged. They called yesterday to charge our card and we declined and said it is being handled with our insurance. I woke up to today to check bank statements and without permission they charged $700 to our card. I am so upset. We still don’t have full power to both of our children’s rooms and now we are out $700 and going to have to find another electrician. Absolutely devastating and would never recommend this company!

I would give them a negotiate star rating if I could. GLIC overcharges there clients. I hired them to upgrade our service from 100amp to 200amp panel. The estimate was to replace the panel, remove overhead lines and install underground lines from the pole to new meter base. Was to install a 50 amp disconnect for future hot tub. Paul the salesman said ‘this is their expertise and they do hundreds of panels a year.’ I live in Michigan, not Ohio. When the crew arrived, They were completely unprepared. They were scrambling to get materials. They didn’t know that Consumer Energy only allows use of their meter bases which is free to pickup at no charge. They didn’t know that Consumers Energy has to run the line from the pole to the panel, which required a representative from Consumers had to come out and get a quote for the install and run through the engineering process and the Homeowners are responsible to pay Consumers. They never installed the 50 amp disconnect or repaired the loose meter base they installed which they were informed of.
I paid 100% of the bill upfront, and when requesting funds back, they are trying to refund a small portion back. I paid for underground 200amp service cable, meter base, 50 amp disconnect, trenching and labor. I am preparing to file with small claims. DO NOT RECOMMEND GLIC for any electrical needs unless you want to over pay or at least hold your monies and only do the half down as they required to get started.

4200.00 Price on 400amp overhead service seemed reasonable at first.
Waited all summer for meter socket that was on back order just to be told it was going to cost an additional 3700 dollars to install it on my pole. A dollar amount that was never mentioned until after I waited months for the box to come in! From there I dropped it to a 200amp service which still cost an additional 1700. Which was the cost to run electric cable from the building over the pole they had set in my field about 75ft away.(a cost that apparently wasn't in their first quote for overhead service??) They used a cable that was much larger than needed, left it hanging 9ft off the ground at its lowest point, did sloppy work and never installed a guy wire on the poll which immediately started to lean heavily. I reached out to Paul with concerns which never got acknowledged or addressed. Toledo edison would not hook up to GLIC's final product because there was no main disconnect installed. Paul quoted me another 2000 to put said disconnect on pole. I had to hire another company to come in and nearly redo the entire install.
Don't waster your time or hard earned money on this company, I tried to give them a chance to fix this situation and got zero response from Paul or Jon so here I am writing my review.

NOV 2024 UPDATE: One of the smoke detectors they installed fell from the ceiling and is now dangling by the wires. Thanks, GLIC!

JAN 2024: I would not recommend or work with this company again. I chose GLIC despite negative reviews but boy did it backfire on me.

It started out great. Every employee I spoke to was kind (Paul, Kellie, Kam, Jon), the actual technician (Kam) was friendly. However, they failed the initial inspection and had to redo weather proofing. I've since had to hire another electrician to finish labeling the panel after GLIC did a service upgrade. The panel doesn't actually fit all of the breakers and covers them slightly. New electrician said without a new box there is no way to make them fit, so it will always look odd. We found out more that indicated poor work, but this review is long enough without getting into those details.

To put it short and sweet: the communication between employees at GLIC is extremely poor and caused a variety of issues with scheduling, parts, etc.

I started this process working with Jon on scheduling and Paul on the estimate. I sent a list of the work requested by email, explained it over the phone, and went over it in person with Paul. We ended up condensing it down and ultimately approved:
    1. $675 Dual sensor, photo-ion smoke detectors for each level of the home
    2. $3,150 200-amp service upgrade
    3. $462.50 220 volt stove plug installation

In total from 11/15 to 1/24 we communicated through 22 phone calls, 44 text messages, and 9 emails for this single job. Here are some examples of why we had to communicate so frequently:
    - We wanted to confirm that they were going to pull permits and send electricians who are licensed in the State of Michigan.
    - We needed a new invoice sent over and waited 2 weeks but it hadn't been sent.
    - On what would have been day 1 of work, GLIC cancelled on us 2 minutes before scheduled start time.
    - Actual day 1 of work ended because of an emergency call. We were told they'd possibly come back the next day, or Monday of the next week. I called and texted without any response until Monday morning when they scheduled us for later that week.
    - They brought the wrong smoke detectors to the house on day 2 of work.

I can assure you that this review can't fully encapsulate the fuming frustration that experiencing all of this was. The sad part is that GLIC has all of the opportunity to get it together and be better, but I happened to be on the receiving end of their sloppy practices.

I paid thousands of dollars to be able to tell you to listen to the other negative reviews. Don't be like me and give the benefit of a doubt, you'll regret it just like I do.
