DJ is an amazing furnace repair technician. 😀And very knowledgeable. Thank you so much DJ for arriving on time, being friendly, polite and respectful. I appreciate how you explained my furnace issue and showed me a picture of issue. You had my heat back on in no time. Thank you. I will definitely ask for DJ to help with further heating issues. When DJ shows up to work on your furnace, etc. ask him about his little “Precious” and her adorable birthday pic. 🥳Best wishes to DJ and his family . I recommend Gene’s heating & AC, plumbing and electrical Company.

Originally called for a no heat issue, tech came out and bled some air out of my systems and said we should be good but recommended a flush and treat to help with efficiency. Scheduled the flush and treat with a relay replacement that was being noisy. $800 later I had no heat upstairs but unbearably hot downstairs. Called tech out next day, admitted he made a mistake and left something open assured me that the problem was taken care of and to give it some time to warm up. The next morning no heat throughout the house, sent a different tech out who discovered a blown fuse and is now recommending all my valves get replaced. As I am writing this I still do not have even heating throughout my upstairs and one room downstairs is unbearably hot, meanwhile my boiler has been running constantly for four days, I can only imagine what my gas bill is going to look like.

Status: Resolved – Refunded (Minus Service Call Fee)This review is a documentation of the experience.
I had a plumber out from Gene’s to address a clogged kitchen sink, likely due to grease buildup. The technician attempted to clear the line using a handheld drill-powered drain snake through the vertical pipe under the sink, avoiding the clean-out because of expected backflow. Unfortunately, the snaking was unsuccessful. He recommended high-pressure jetting as the next step, but that was delayed due to a missing attachment that had to be reordered.
I was told I’d receive a follow-up call and an emailed estimate—neither happened. Two days later, on 7/1/2025, I had to call them myself. I was initially told they’d return on Wednesday, but that was later walked back after they realized the only technician capable of completing the job wouldn’t be available for another full week.
So I was stuck with an unresolved drain issue for what would’ve been at least 11 days from the first visit. Meanwhile, the kitchen sink started refilling mysteriously and would soon need to be drained manually by bucket.
On 7/2/2025, after more phone tag, I was asked to resend my email outlining the situation and specific requirements—but again received no reply. Out of necessity, and unable to wait, I attempted to clear the clog myself using a sewer jetting hose and electric pressure washer. I spent a full day flushing nearly 40 feet of pipe, removing grease chunks, and battling re-clogs—ultimately resulting in chemical burns, exhaustion, and a lot of wasted time. While I was able to get past the 7-foot mark where their technician had gotten stuck, my setup wasn’t professional-grade, and the drain eventually re-clogged.
Then, on 7/3/2025, I received a call from Lena explaining that the owners had met and decided they could not complete the job as requested using a professional jetting system with high PSI and GPM. Since they couldn’t resolve the issue, they offered to refund the initial service charge, minus the $129 service call fee.
On 7/17/2025, they followed through and issued the refund as promised. I sincerely appreciate their honesty, the acknowledgment that they were unable to perform the needed work, and their decision to make it right financially.
While the overall experience was frustrating, I give credit to the company for owning the situation and issuing the appropriate refund. That gesture of accountability goes a long way.
