We were shopping for Solar, and ran across ICON. Sean was honest and awesome. Our system wouldn’t have been efficient due to trees surrounding our home, and we would’ve been lucky to hit 20 efficient use of our power. So we had to back out, but in the meantime, we’ve got companies telling us all sorts of things. If we move to a better location, I am calling Sean first. Thanks for the honesty and saving us from making a bad call that could have had a tremendous effect on our family.

ICON Solar installed 36 solar panels on our new house in October 2021; Duke Energy allowed the system to be activated in late January 2022, thus the system has been used for 10 months and 13 days, as of today, December 6, 2022.

As I look at the Enphase data on my phone, I can see that the system has generated over 14,100 kilowatt hours and that we have consumed 13,300 kilowatt hours. The system was designed to produce 1,350 kilowatt hours per month. What was promised to me regarding the energy it was projected to produce was correct.

Our house uses gas for the furnace, clothes dryer, stovetop and range. The electric usage includes multiple computers, TV's, two refrigerators, a freezer and a wine chiller, hot water production and keeping the summer inside temperature at 67 degrees for 3800 square feet of living space.

The garage has a mini split for heat and AC, and a charger for our electric car.

I cannot say 'Thank You' enough to the folks at ICON for leading us through the entire process of planning and installing this system for us. We have zero costs for our daily driving excursions, we enjoy the comforts of a cool house in August, and we can activate comfortable AC or heat in our garage.

After deducting the Federal tax incentive for the solar panels, and the tax incentive for the electric car we bought this year, this system will pay for itself in less than seven years.

While the salesmen were nice and fairly informed. When I asked for a written estimate for solar with backup power I was written off. Apparently the company only wants to help those who wish to stay on the grid. I have no interest in paying to become the power grid. Also this is just a transference of money. You will never have a $0 electric bill, and will have a hefty solar bill on top of that. While your rates increase for grid power. Either become self sufficient or keep paying. I could pay a power bill for 33 years with what a system would cost me. Which is nearly 10 years longer than the panels will last.

Awesome local company! Got us up and running through every step. The electricians and roofers are employees and that’s a big plus! They cleaned up the work site and everyone was very friendly! After permits were pulled it only took a day to get the panels installed. Super impressed.

I spoke to many different solar companies and ended up chosing ICon. They were, by far, the most informative and competitive in price. This is the best money we could have spent! Nothing like getting $0 electric bills with credits! Would recommend this company to anyone!

When I was looking to put solar panels on my house, I struggled to find a company nearby that actually seemed to do it. Finally, I found Icon Solar, and they were fantastic! Rachel came out and looked at everything, figured out how many panels I needed, how many I could fit on my roof (thankfully it was just as many as I needed), told me how much it would cost, gave me financing options, explained how much I would save over time, went over the warranty, and answered all my questions. I've had my panels just about a year now, and I couldn't be happier! The only issue I've had with them was actually operator error when I reconfigured my wifi and needed to reconnect the panels to the app--tech support walked me through it with ease! The highest bill I've seen since getting the panels was about $17, but most of the time it's around $9 (as close to zero as I can get with still being connected to the grid). I highly recommend using Icon Solar for your home solar project!

Everyone from Icon from the phone person, sales person and installers was friendly, professional and knowledgeable. I had numerous other companies bid for my solar panel business but none were close to the lower price I got from Icon.

Icon Solar did an amazing job with the solar installation on our house. It looks awesome and was significantly less expensive that the other companies that we had quote the job even though they use the same exact inverters and panels. The technician who came to evaluate my site and design the installation was similarly knowledgeable, efficient, and professional--qualities demonstrated by the installer as well. I have a tough roof to install solar on, the Icon folks took their time and found a solution that worked for me, my house and my budget. They installed the system and helped me through the paperwork and hurdles before and after instillation. Highly recommended.

I found the online solar panel research to be daunting. Too many fake rankings that were really just advertisements. I narrowed my search down to two. One nationwide--Blue Raven, and one local-- Icon Solar.

It's like buying a new car. I determine exactly what I want, and then contact several dealers. The product will be the same, but the price will vary. I wanted 22 405W panels, each with an individual inverter, and 10kWh of battery storage.

Both companies had excellent, informed sales guys. Both came up with identical total cost. Both would help recoup the 30% federal tax credit.

But Icon offered a whopping discount for cash, plus allowed me to use a cash-back credit card. This made their bid over $9000 LESS than the big national competitor. And sealed the deal for me.

Plus, ICON is local, has been around for over 15 years, and has maintained excellent communication throughout the process. Everyone I dealt with was professional, committed to Icon and to doing a good job for us. Andy, Jake, Tyler, Matt, Neil, and the whole installation crew-- all are good guys who provided the warm, local, customized result we were looking for. Two-day install, up and running almost immediately.

You don't just get the hardware, but an entire system to support it. A sophisticated app tells you in real time how much electricity you have produced. How much you consumed. How much you imported from the grid. How each individual panel is performing.
How much you EXPORTED to the grid for future use. Here in mild, sunny May, we have been exporting energy back to Duke every single day. This will be subtracted from our Duke bill in high use months, like August and September.
As a Duke Ohio customer, I can go to their website to see that exported energy value subtracted frm my bill. Each state differs, but in Ohio, our "net metering" permits a dollar for dollar bill reduction for energy we send INTO the grid.

I am thrilled with our new Solar Panel system, and with everything about Icon. The ENPHASE Panels and batteries are working great and are very well supported by that company. I can heartily endorse these companies and products. You do need good support, though, so going local with Icon is the way to go!

I had my system installed in 11/2018 with Icon, and my only regret is not having it done sooner! Icon's competent service and friendly, thorough communication is as amazing as their product!! My monthly payments on my solar panel system is wayyyyy less than I was paying monthly for my monthly utility bill, and I actually own my panels, versus throwing money away paying our local utility monopoly. If you have been thinking about going solar, but are still on the fence, I strongly encourage you to at least have a chat with them. My house is now one of 4 solar-powered houses on my street from Icon - we are all happy customers!

Two experiences. Four years since installing panels on our roof. Data says we have a yearly savings of 25% and have an estimated 25 tons of carbon dioxide kept from the atmosphere. Thursday we thought some of the squirrel barrier came lose and today and made sure everything was intact. Excellent service !!!!

My experience with Icon went very smoothly from initial contact with the helpful sales representative through installation. Based on quotes I received from other vendors, their price was fair. We purchased panels, Enphase inverters and a Powerwall, and the system is working exactly as promised.
