GCS helped with the electric while finishing our basement. They communicated well and were very timely in addressing any questions and concerns throughout the job.

We had our house upgraded from knob & tube to romex; really appreciated the hard work and patience of Nate and Logan during this large and long project.

Contacted GCS to perform annual servicing and inspection of our backup power system after a well known other provider blew off 2 appointments. GCS had an estimate to me within 1 hour, and were on-site the next morning! Technicians were prompt, professional, and now everything is in great shape for surviving winter when the power goes off. We will only be calling GCS for our house projects now!

Be careful with this company if you have an older home, especially if you have plaster. I hired them for a whole house upgrade from knob & tube on the recommendation of another contractor. The owner said they had done several of these upgrades. GSA Electric struggled with the project and regularly left a mess during the month it took them to complete the project in a home less that 1600 square feet. What is even more concerning is the kitchen and bath weren’t even part of the project. Many of the wall holes for receptacles were broken out larger than a plate would cover requiring several plaster repairs. When I pointed this out to the owner, he simply said something to the effect that plaster is challenging. Many of the switches and outlets were installed too deep or not deep enough, and some light fixtures were loose or not completed.
The garage was included in the project. A wall stud was cut out to accommodate the panel rather than centering it between the studs. That was after the worker was told that the garage siding was going to be replaced. Oddly, he mounted the panel directly to the siding, resulting in extra work for those replacing the siding.
I finally told the workers to leave when one of them slide a heavy piece of furniture across the hardwood floor, damaging it. The owner said he would have someone repair it. That never happened.
When they came back to try to ‘make things right’ I wasn’t about to let them near my furniture or areas of the house they might damage, so I opted to leave some of the work the way it was and will hire a different contractor to fix it.
In my estimation, GCS took on a project that was far more complex than they were equipped for. They didn’t respect my property, didn’t clean up after they are done and, and in the end just wanted their check. They may do well with newer construction and projects they can knock out quickly but be careful if your project is more complex or involves an older home where greater care is needed to protect the property.
I validated my concerns with other contractors and friends before writing this review. I am very particular about how things are done but wanted to be as fair as possible.
In the end I paid them over $28K for sloppy work and disrespecting my home. I can only hope the work behind the walls isn’t as sloppy as the visible work. I would not use them again and would warn anyone that asks to think very carefully before hiring them.

    Final word on this subject:

The response of this company owner is disconcerting. He addresses everything other than the core issue. The work was just plain sloppy. The pictures speak louder than words. There was poor decision making, poor communication, and there was a lack of understanding of how to treat my property.

Indeed, he has covered himself for these situations in the wording of the contract as he has made clear in his response to my review. That is why I paid the bill. There is no use fighting it.

I find it odd that after my complaint is posted there is suddenly a reduction in the bill that I didn’t give them an opportunity to provide me. One would think they would have made the adjustment before sending the final bill. It’s interesting that this is my fault. It’s interesting that it is my fault his workers moved furniture, when they ‘normally’ don’t. It interesting that it was my fault that I wasn’t sensitive to their need to handle service calls after a major storm, even though I told them I fully understood.

My assessment stands that I feel his workers did not exercise due diligence in the execution of this project, the project took far too long despite their need handle service calls, communication was lacking, and my property was not respected.

I will not engage in any further back and forth related to this as I have wasted enough time and need to move on.

Feel free to make your own judgement about this company.

GCS Electric installed my new charging station for my EV. Patrick and his crew were amazing. They had to put in heavier service in my garage and made sure everything was up to code and done right. They were very careful to clean up after themselves, did everything promised and more and all was done at a very fair price. I am totally happy with the job!

Nate and Logan replaced all of the outlets and switches in our newly remodeled master bathroom. They were prompt, professional and very efficient. A few weeks before that they replaced the battery in our backup generator. Same great service. They are a great team. Thanks guys.

I’ve had a great experience working with GCS Electric. They’ve done excellent work for me on a couple of complex projects, and the quality and attention to detail have been outstanding.

Pat, the owner, is a genuinely nice guy and extremely knowledgeable. There are always communication challenges on complex projects, but I really appreciate the way GCS collaborates and resolves the problems.

If you get the opportunity to work with GCS Electric, I highly recommend asking for Rob to be the foreman on your project—he’s been excellent to work with and runs a tight, professional job site.

    Highly recommend.
