Reviews of local pros in Eagle Creek, Oregon

S & J has done several jobs for me over the years, always professional, and competitive pricing.

Very professional and prompt. They came in dropped a huge spruce tree, chipped the branches, and left the logs cut to our demension and cleaned up the rest. We had no mess to deal with. Gave us good advice on a few other trees. We will use them again.

Had them out to remove two large Maples. I was impressed with the speed and quality of their work. Would recommend to anyone!

S&J came by our property and spent time going over what we needed to have done for our almost 7 acres of 50-100 foot trees. We were primarily concerned about the neighbor’s barn and our home. They bid us fairly and called to confirm a date within their estimated time frame. We had huge oaks, pines and cedars that were cut down and a couple trees trimmed off the neighbor’s barn roof. S&J showed up when they said they would, they handled their work quickly, safely and thoroughly and we couldn't have been more pleased.

As a side note: We went with his recommendation for one cedar growing close to and leaning in the direction of the house and when it came down it was clear he was correct. The tree was rotted through the middle and probably would not have lasted the winter.

They provide a great service. Excellent qualified staff.

Did a great job of saving my neighbors fence from being destroyed by my maple tree. Also let me know about an additional problem I have with the same tree which could have cost me a lot more as the branch would have destroyed my neighbors shop. Also was very quick to help me! John's a great guy.

I have used S&J Cutting Tree Service for tee removal on a couple occasions and the service was awesome, but this time around I called for a cat rescue! Our cat had been stuck up a tree for 2 nights and was not able to get down. John came out with in a couple hours of my call and climbed up the tree to rescue her. I'm so grateful for his service.

Straight shooters and extremely fair pricing. John and his team were very professional and demonstrated their technical expertise from evaluation to execution. They took down a large dangerous Doug Fir for me and a diseased fir at my neighbors. As sad as we were to see them go, S&J did amazing work. Also recommended them to a friend, and they did an amazing job at her place removing a couple of fallen trees and cleanup from the 2024 ice storm.

All three of us are happy customers. If you need to get trees trimmed or removed, these are the guys to do it! Thanks S&J!

The Best Tree Cutting Service for my first experience, customer service was amazing and they were easy to work with. Highly recommended and TOP TEIR SERVICE!!! Thank you guys for your amazing work

We had a tree fall on our house, resting on the roof luckily not smashing through it. These guys came over same day and took it down before it could cause any more damage. Couldn't be more grateful for the fast rescue. Great local family business, highly recommend them to anyone!

I had them cut down a multi-stemmed juniper. The quote was very good. The team worked quickly, professionally and clean up well after.
Highly recommend their service.

We used this company after 5 trees come down on our property during the big storm January 2024. Two of the trees were old and large and had fallen on two different houses. Removing them without causing more damage was going to be tricky. S&J Cutting Tree Service quoted me a much lower price than I expected. They brought in a crane, removed the trees with no additional damage. They had planned on just removing the stumps but couldn't get them out so they brought in a stump grinder and stuck to their original price which was again SURPRISINGLY LOW. Everyone on the crew was very courteous and nice. They came through a second time just to pick up any small debris that was left also checking in with me again to see if I had any concerns. We have about an acre of land in NW Portland and have hired a good amount or arborists over the years. This company has been my favorite so far. Thanks again for getting us out of a tricky situation.

Absolutely amazing work. Showed up on time, made super fast work of a precariously growing cedar tree. Definitely will be calling them for future work and will be recommending them to others. 10 out of 10

Reasonable price for some precision cutting requiring chunking one fairly dead tree and scaling a very large fir to cut large branches off over our barn. Highly recommended.

Needed several large trees taken down, cut up for fireplace size and branches put through a chipper ( all this was in a gully which made access difficult...job done beautifully. Will have them return when we need next work done on 1 acre of woods...

We had them remove 3 trees from our front yard and a 20ft line of very over grown (over 15ft tall and very thick) laurels in our back yard.

They were very quick, efficient, and moved around our property safely. There wasn’t much access to the back yard but they did amazing!

Hard workers that are determined to get the job done with fine details still on the forefront of their minds. Incomparable to the other tree services that I have worked with in the portland area. Hands down the first choice every time, without a doubt.

If I could give more stars, I would! S&J Cutting was fantastic from start to finish. They showed up exactly when they said they would and returned my call promptly the first time I reached out. They were available to get the job done quickly and worked smoothly and efficiently, like a well-oiled machine. Their experience truly shows in their work, abilities, professionalism, and friendly demeanor. Plus, they’re a local, family-owned business, which makes supporting them even more meaningful. It’s so important to invest in your community, and I highly recommend S&J Cutting for all your tree work needs!

I have used this and j cuddy for over 15 years and have been very satisfied with her work and their pricing.

We've used S&J several times now and never been disappointed. The prices are fair, they are quick and always on time. The trees come down where they want them, many obstacles here so that's important. They do a nice job of leaving things tidy.

This is the second time I have used S&J. Last year we had three large trees in our backyard with only walking access. Most of the companies I tried to get a quote from wouldn’t due to they couldn’t get a high lift in. The others were thousands above S&J for quotes. So when I needed a dying one in front of my property they were my first call. Once again their price was the best. They cleaned up everything after they got finished each time. They were always on time and professional. Highly recommend this company.
