Didn't hire them. The guy I called for an estimate to install some insulation was apparently really put out by my calling. It went like this:

Guy - "I could do that for 800."
Me - "Is that with me providing materials?"
Guy - "If you just want materials, you just go to a discount place or something."
Me - "Discount place? Oh, like where?"
Guy - "I dunno. Just look for discount places."

Thanks. I'll call someone else.

Don't bother with this guy. Called him on a Thursday morning, to see if he was available to come bid on a small deck roof. He said he would come out the next morning, at 930am. 1030 rolls around, and he still hasnt showed. We have stuff to do! So, I finally get a hold of him and his response is that "he forgot, can he come between 12 and 2." At 1 he called back and asked if he could come between 4 and 6, and he never showed up, or called. Our whole day we wasted, waiting around for this guy. Don't waste your time, too.

The owner agreed to replace the motor of a burned out bathroom ceiling exhaust fan. When he inspected the broken fan I heard bathtub water running; didn't understand the reason. He agreed to return after the new motor arrived. He only returned when we called and insisted. He came, worked, said he replaced the motor, accepted our payment and left. Within a month the fan stopped working. Another contractor told us the old motor had been cleaned and put back, there was no new fan installed. The owner of Willamette Valley blamed us for the problem, stopped communicating, and refused to refund our money until the Lane County Contractor's Board threatened to remove his license. Then he mailed a check to refund our total payment.

Called and explained job - just needing caulking around a door frame. We had to have a contractor do this according to a purchase contract. He said no problem, and made the appointment for 9am Monday morning. At 8:58am Monday morning, he called back, asked more questions about the job and I explained it again. He then said it was too small and wouldn't do it, then hung up. According to his website (willamettehandymanservic…) , "No job is too big or too small." Just goes to show you can't believe what you find online.

Quick to come out, wouldn't give me a bid just hourly rate. Someone showed up 4 hours late on a bike! I had to go and get the materials and move them myself. Lied about car trouble and didn't have proper tools and asked me for tools?! A few hour job turned into three days & $500 for something that should have taken a few hours and ALOT less. Charged me the time it took him to ride his bike around town and make calls when I wasn't around. I nearly fired him on the spot on the last day but I just wanted to get away from this company. Very rude and unprofessional. Showed up with the "boss" the last day. Unfriendly, didn't say a word or comment on the crappy work his "company" perfmond. Do not use!

Ghosted. Yuck!

The job he did was not done right. I had to call a contractor with experience to fix all the mistakes. Will definitely not be using them again.

Tyler saved the day on a weekend to solve an issue with a smoke alarm while we were out of town and had a house sitter.
