Extract Away Carpet Service Inc

I have several calls and email exchanges with Tim (owner) and Kelly (their office person) for carpet cleaning, confirmed the prices (incl. rooms, stairs and edges) before making the appointment. Tim estimated on the phone the total area was about 800 sf, the actual sf is 625 sf. When Tim was here he wanted $70 more than what they said for 800 sf. I went ahead anyway with him because we didn't want to wait, and I'd like to give him a chance. He used rotovac machine which was one of the reasons I hired him. But the machine leaves the edges about 2 inches untouched. He didn't even want to use a wand to vacuum the edges at all, leaving them dirty. I asked him to clean the edges, at least vacuum them using his regular cleaning wand, but he refused to do that. He insisted to do the edges with much through method involving 3 special tools, and he wanted $20 for each room just for the edges. I didn't need the deep cleaning of the edges but would expect at least he use a cleaning wand to run through the edges since his rotovac machine couldn't reach the edges. A few hundred dollars I paid him with all the edges dirty untouched. He charged about $70 more and he said he used UPS CleanMaster to spray some spots, for $70? He made some weird comments about our home too.

As a remodel contractor, Tim’s my go to guy for all things carpet related. I’ve had him do more jobs over the years than I can count. Everything from full house installs to re-stretching, patching in damaged areas or when the carpet footprint is changing, cleaning etc. he does it all. No job seems to be too big or small, he’s always up for it. He’s fair, upfront, and always on schedule. Plus, he’s been in the industry for decades, so I trust his knowledge about the different products out there and what to expect from them as far as durability and wear life. I always know if he tells me the carpet is past it’s usable life span that he’s not just trying to sell me on a new install. He’s good at communicating what to expect, and ALWAYS delivers.

Tim did a small carpet project for me and did an amazing job. It looks fantastic, better than I thought it could. So much attention to detail and with what materials I had, fixed what was badly botched previously. He is reliable and professional - highly recommended.
