I highly recommend Jon Nash & crew at Northwest Arbor-Culture Inc - Tree Services! They really came through for us with our tree situation this week. After experiencing 2/3 of our large oak crashing down on Tuesday in what may have been the scariest thing I have heard/experienced, I got to work calling local tree specialists. Many messages were never returned and those that answered said they would be able to assess sometime between October-December, with one giving me a mid-July date. What!? I'm glad I didn't give up.
Jon was here less than an hour after I called. The crew was out today and they were skilled, professional, kind and worked as fast as possible to remove the hazardous limbs and clear the debris. So thankful to have a positive experience despite the horrible situation with a lot of damage.

Jonathan came out to give me an estimate. He is very knowledgeable and honest. They are straightforward in telling you what should and shouldn't be done. We walked the property and went over each tree. He wasn't afraid to tell me that nothing should be done to most the trees. There was no up selling or lies. I know a decent amount about trees due to my college and professional experiences and everything he said was spot on. It was a great experience and I will definitely be in touch after I get more quotes.

I can't say thank you enough to Jon and team for all their hard work. Jon came over provided an estimate. He talked through my various trees and all my tree questions giving us a fair market estimate. They already came recommended by family so we decided to give them a try and we were not disappointed. Jon was honest with his estimate and restrictions, communicated his preferences and even gave me ways to save on costs by doing some work outside of his company. Scheduling was fast even though I was not in a hurry. Crew was onsite for an entire day, they were great guys, hardworking, funny and really interesting to watch as they took down some really big trees, they worked really well as a team. The clean-up after was awesome. I have had about 4 different tree companies out for various tree work over the last 10 years and NW Arbor Culture has been by far the best.

John was recommended by a friend. He came to my home in Southwest Portland a day after I called, to do a wellness evaluation on a Cypress in my front yard. He arrived on time, came across as very knowledgeable, and took plenty of time informing me of what options were. We discussed possible ways to treat the tree, he gave me cost estimates to trim away the dead trunk, completely remove the tree, grind the stump, as well as a risk assessment and a timeline on which he felt I needed to make a decision. I was very happy with the service he provided, and would recommend him to others.

Certified arborist Jonathan Nash came out to discuss various tree needs and gave me an estimate for the work.
I hired Jonathan's crew to specifically trim deadwood within two main wooded areas on our property so the paths would be beautifully walkable and so the tree trunks would maintain a more natural appearance than simply cut all limbs off until the top canopy. Two workers (one rope climber) did all the work and cheerfully accommodated all of my specific requests and suggestions. I found them to be a great choice for this job.

I had a bit of an emergency need for an Arborist service to remove the barely holding together remaining 1/2 of about a 30 ft tall big cherry tree that split during a day of gusty winds. What was left of the tree was threatening my neighbor's house so I needed help ASAP. I contacted Jonathan and he arrived to assess the situation within about 30 minutes. He had his crew out early the next morning and they did a phenomenal job removing the sketchy remains that mostly hung over the neighbor's lot, as well as cleaning everything up to damn near spotless.
Every part of the process was speedy and professional from the time I called, to the crew finishing the job. This was while they already had what sounded like plenty of jobs to take care of due the windstorm.
I had been planning on removing this tree and have been talking to those around me who had trees removed and I'd say the price was reasonable and better than what I expected.
I will certainly be referring NW Arbor Culture if I run into anybody needing tree services.

I have two very large 150' + Doug Fir trees in my very small front yard. NW Arbor Culture does the best pruning for large trees in Portland, hands down. Affordable, fast, clean, and they left my yard cleaner than when they started. Highly recommend!

Mike and his team took down 3 very large trees for us. The job required the assistance of a crane company. Mike coordinated the effort and communicated all information to us in a timely manner. Mike is polite, professional and a good communicator, I don't hesitate at all to recommend him to anyone needing assistance.

Michael was on time for the estimating appointment. Reasonable cost for taking down a big evergreen. Clear and concise information. Written contract. Scheduling for the job was very reasonable.
Michael and his crew were on time, professional and friendly. Safety was the top priority. They cleaned up all debris and cut the rounds into the requested size. Will definitely hire him again.

Mike came by to provide a quote to potentially remove a few trees in our yard. He was extremely knowledgeable about tree health and maintenance and even gave us advice and a recommendation about re-doing our fence. He was very professional and did not pressure us into a sale. We highly recommended Mike and Action Residential Services.

We had a great experience with Mike and his guys taking out a large tree in our yard and grinding down the old stump to prepare for new trees. Quick to return calls, respectful to our property with their equipment, cleaned up after really well. Absolutely will use them again.

John and his crew were amazing! We had work done by a competitor 2 years ago who did half the work, for twice the cost as J&F. We had three large trees removed, three giant rhododendrons, and eight stumps ground, as well as a huge pile of branches/yard debris chipped/removed. They were done with ALL of it in about 4 hours. The work crew were absolutely efficient, professional and friendly. Excellent communication and value. Cannot give a higher recommendation for this group!
