I was unfortunately assigned Appliance Aid by my American Home Warranty (AHW).
Fridge felt warm, and Smart fridge says it's working. Put analog therm inside and is only cooling to 40-50°f. The freezer was still working.
Now, a quick Google search shows that it can be a couple of items (fan, thermistor, or compressor). The LG fridges are known for compressor issues.
Placed request on Monday, May 26th, 2025.
Call back on Tuesday, May 25th, 2025.
Appt on Wednesday, May 26th, 2025.Tech arrives and spends all of 3 minutes pointing an IR thermometer at two places and diagnoses the fan as the issue.
NO RESISTANCE TEST on the fan.
NO removal of the back panel.
NONE of the basic technical work one should do when diagnosing an appliance.
Didn't even pull the fridge out to check anything and didn't even check if the coils were clean (I had already cleaned them).Repair was "completed" on Friday, May 30th, and the fridge is still not working as it should. We were told it would take 7-8 hours to cool. After 6 hours later, and it's still 50 degrees. Called AHW, and they contacted Appliance Aid, who said they would call in the AM to see if its working. Obviously, it's not, so the tech says he will be out in my area.
The technician said he would be out today and didn't provide an estimated time. He texted/called from a DIFFERENT number when he was 25-30 minutes out. I have the Appliance Aid number saved as a contact. The different numbers showed as "potential spam." When I looked at my phone, I saw two missed calls from an unsaved contact (different number).
He arrived at 11:11 and I was out front by 11:22 when I realized it was him.
I saw him driving away down the street several houses. I called him at 11:23, and he didn't pick up. Despite seeing him down the road. He called back @ 11:27 and pretended he was long gone.
Thats pretty low to pretend like it was a big issue seeing as he FAILED to diagnose and fix the problem the first time. Then call me from a different number and tell me "it doesn't matter" because he called and waited. Three cars in the driveway, garage doors open, and I was on the back patio watering plants.
Buddy, if you did your job right the first time, we wouldn't be here. But the "it doesn't matter" and the way you said it deserves this post.
I hope anyone who is unfortunately assigned this company or uses it knows the kind of half hearted "technician" they are getting.
I can tell you right now. It was and will be the compressor. Becuase 10 minutes and a multimeter would tell you what youre going to take 9 days and a couple hundred dollars of spoiled food on my dime to figure out.

Sent out to my home by Select Home Warranty "SHW" on 11/25/25. Luis Leon spent three minutes looking at my glass top stove & a week or so later, SHW said that it wasn't cost effective to fix my stove. They said that the technician advised them that the radiant element and control switch needed to be replaced and once I purchased the parts, call Luis Leon and he would come out to do the labor. This would have cost me over $600. I called NZS Appliance on 12/8/25 and Safar came out the same day. He took the control panel apart and replaced a connecting wire to the control switch/element and everything is working perfectly. This was for 1/3 of the cost that Appliance Aid quoted me.
