About the business:

Clow Roofing & Siding Co. is a family held company. Clow was established in 1922 as a manufacturer in Tacoma, WA, and opened a retail shop in Portland, OR. In 1928, the company was purchased by Luther Wells, who ran Clow successfully on his own for many years, before his son Irving joined him in 1945. Irving introduced siding as one of their offerings.

It was important to both Irving and Luther that the Clow name mean something and be thought of as a reliable partner to the people of Portland. They wanted to establish a company policy that today still rings true - if any Clow job has problems related to workmanship, Clow will make the repairs free of charge for the repairable life of the roof.

Irving Wells' son-in-laws John Hansen and Dennis Baker joined the company in 1973 and 1977. Sons Jeff Hansen and Doug Baker continue the tradition. Because of this long standing commitment and reputation of doing things right, there are three Clow rooftops per city block and counting.
