All reviews for Hawthorne General Construction

Great to work with. Professional and did everything in their power to help us save money on the carpet installation. Being able to pay out of escrow was very helpful as well. Would use them again for other construction needs.

We had a great experience with Hawthorne General Construction. We made an appointment for a roof inspection as we are preparing to sell. They got us on the calendar quickly, they were on time to our inspection, and they found some issues we did expect after an incredibly windy storm, and also some issues we weren’t expecting. They came prepared with new shingles to touch up some spots and caulk to fill in some nail holes.
I feel 100% certain we will pass our inspection when we list the property. They even went above and beyond to check our attic for any signs of moisture and their prices are so reasonable!

I highly recommend this company if you need any roof repair or replacement!

Hawthorne Roofing did a great job replacing the roof on our Mt Tabor foursquare. I want to particularly give a shout out to the roofing
crew members (especially Frank) who so cheerfully worked long hot days and took great pains not to crush a single flower in my garden! Mil gracias amigos!!

We recently hired Hawthorne General Construction to do a roof replacement, truss repair and wall plumb job, and interior painting project for our Subud House in North East Portland. We were very impressed with all aspects of the work that Adam and his company did for us and found Hawthorne Construction to be an excellent choice for our project. Hawthorne General combined the expertise to provide top quality professional work and product standards while also maintaining a personal sense of connection with our project and our leadership team. Adam was very quick to respond to our inquiries and very clear and direct in his communication with us, very knowledgable and up-to-date in construction practices, well-connected with qualified sub-contractors who did part of the work for us, etc. Adam was able to coordinate crews in a timely efficient manner and was able to meet its work-completion deadlines with only minor overages in cost. I would highly recommend Hawthorne General Construction for any job that the Company takes on.

Sincerely, Marilyn Schirk, Lead on Roof Renovation Project, Portland Subud Center

I highly recommend HAWTHORNE GENERAL CONSTRUCTION. Adam is extremely knowledgeable, thoughtful, and helpful. Adam was available to answer all questions thoroughly, and wasn't a high-pressure salesman. Adam ensured the safety and cleanliness of the job site.

Hawthorne completed a large roofing job of 11 buildings for our HOA, EVERYTHING met and surpassed our expectations. Adam was hands on and attentive every step of the way. His crew was respectful of all owners and properties and the workmanship has proven to be high quality.
Follow up after completion has been amazing with attention to detail in a very timely manner, most of the time within 24 hours.
I would highly recommend using this company.

We hired Adam & his crew to replace our backyard fence in North Portland this last spring, and they did an amazing job! Adam was incredibly communicative throughout the entire process, listening to all of our priorities & concerns. His team worked efficiently and left our space super tidy! We would hire Adam and his team in the future for any of our home projects, without hesitation!

As a busy real estate agent, I rely on contractors who are responsive, professional, and deliver quality work—and Hawthorne General Construction checks every box. They’ve helped my clients with everything from inspection repairs to pre-listing updates, always on time and with great communication. I trust them completely and highly recommend their team!

I’ve had the pleasure of getting to know Adam through our business network, and what stands out most is his integrity and the pride he takes in doing right by his customers. He’s the kind of business owner who shows up, communicates clearly, and genuinely cares about delivering great work. You can tell he values relationships and reputation, and that goes a long way. Highly recommend supporting businesses like his.

Hawthorne General Construction solved a very difficult problem in reconstructing the underpinnings of our roof. They worked on it in an efficient, practical and timely way before reroofing the church. They were considerate of our budget as well and saw to every detail to keep the church looking beautiful and being safe from water runoff on the decks. I highly recommend them.

Adam and his team at Hawthorne General Construction worked on my Seller's home and replaced the roof from initial phone call to completion in 6 days. He was professional and went above and beyond for my Sellers which resulted in them selling their home. I am sure the buyer will sleep great knowing that the roof will not have any problems for 25 plus years!

They did a great job of installing new gutters on my house. Ruben was great to work with on site. He was very polite and attentive to my requests. We did a walkthrough before they started and again when they were done to make sure everthing was to my liking. Adam was very responsive to my emails and made the quotation and scheduling process very easy.

We had our roof and gutters replaced by Hawthorne General Construction at the end of May 2025. We are so pleased with the results! Adam Cornett, the owner, was helpful in answering our questions and concerns before the project started and throughout the duration. All of the workers were friendly and professional and took great care of our property and landscaping. Clean up was done after each working day and when the job was completed. We would highly recommend this company for your roofing and/or gutter needs

Hello, Adam from Hawthorne recently completed a large roof project for an organization I belong to. This has been planned for years, and had many versions as we talked to architects, engineers, and contractors. Then we found Adam and he came in and simplified the project big time. He started when he said he would, finished on time and on budget, and was very accommodating of the organizations needs. Highly reccomend!!

Adam and his team did a fantastic job on our roof. They worked quickly and did a great job. Wonderful communication when it’s impossible to get most contractors on the phone. I can’t recommend them highly enough!

I have personally worked with Adam and his team. They are not only honest about their work but also operate with integrity in every way, from the initial inspection to the final completion. It is difficult to find a good contractor you can trust nowadays but Adam exceeds any expectations a contractor can have. I 100% recommend him.

Ryan came out to my home in Hood River and was an absolute pleasure to work with. Very personable and professional. He really went the extra mile and clearly was out for my best interest vs making the most money. Will gladly work with Hawthorne again in the future.

I had a roof leak in my home. Contacted Adam. Next day promptly he came home. Looked at the leak. He went in to the attic and identified the area where the water was seeping in etc. Etc.
He is very friendly, professional and very knowledgeable. He gives free estimates.

I give him 5 star rating and strongly recommend him to one and all. It was pleasure working with him.

The new roof looks good. Communication was prompt and effective. I paid what I was quoted, no extra 'gotchas'. Post-completion cleanup could have used more attention to detail - I found roofing nails and metal shavings in the driveway and lawn. I would definitely use Hawthorne General Construction for future projects.

Adam gave excellent advice on re-roofing our 1926 house. Materials are top notch. His crew was timely and dedicated to doing a thorough job. And they cleaned up the site and hauled off all debris as soon as they were done. All at very reasonable and transparent cost. i will call Hawthorne for our next project.

I meant to add my review awhile back but got delayed for some reason unknown to me. I can’t speak highly enough about Hawthorne Construction. The go the extra mile and you can feel confident knowing that if there’s a problem (which there won’t be) that it would be taken care of quickly. We feel that they put customer over cost compared to some companies that don’t don’t do that. I would recommend them to anyone looking for quality work and professional workers. We had a new roof put on and two skylights replaced. The
Thank you Hawthorn Construction,
