We contacted several solar companies. After going back and forth with questions, several of them just disappeared and didn't get back because it seemed like if they didn't get the sale in the first couple of correspondents then they moved on. Earthlight held fast And continued to answer my questions until I was satisfied with the whole project. I ended up choosing earthlight and ordered 27 panels and two Franklin batteries. I would have used the Tesla powerwall as my first choice but those won't charge up from an alternate generator. I wanted the option if it's dark and no power for days to charge up my battery with a generator during the day. So I can have power all night. Franklin batteries do this. We have enjoyed electric bills that are only for the hookup charge. We generate twice as much electricity right now in the summer than we use. A surplus will be banked and used up in the winter months. I'm hoping to zero out at the end of March when PGE resets our consumption allotment we've squirreled away all summer. With 27 + panels, I highly recommend two batteries.
The work crew was stellar and worked like a well oil machine. Everybody seemed to get along great and it was a pleasure working with them. They were extremely accommodating and flexible and literally went out of their way to make it the best experience. Most everything was black and white in the contract in any gray area they took care of at their expense. No squabbling no extra charges. No hidden costs. Even now a couple months later they still follow up to see how it's doing and they can see on their end how things are doing as well. They are able to monitor our system and continue to do so long after the sale is complete. It was so refreshing to have a business treat me this well. I highly recommend them for anyone wanting to go solar from a few panels to a whole big array. They do it all. They have a diverse team with different knowledge and experience all work together to provide great customer service and product.

In August I finally decided to go ahead and have solar panels installed at my home. Since I live nearby my first step was to stop by the Earthlight facility in Silverton since it is so very local. They were helpful and set up an appointment with Alex West for the initial site visit; but they told me at that time that it was unlikely that they would be able to complete the installation before the end of the year when the Federal tax credits were set to expire.
I contacted a couple of other Solar installers who assured me that they could get the installation completed before the end of the year, so I began discussions with them about my project.
Meanwhile, Alex West contacted me and let me know that Earthlight had reevaluated the resources they would assign to residential projects in 2025 and now they could commit to getting my system installed while the tax credits were still available. This was great news because communication with the other installers I had contacted was difficult, disjointed and definitely not local. In contrast Alex West and all the people at Earthlight I ended up working with were friendly, efficient, effective, and very local.
In the end every step of my project happened more quickly than the timeline that Earthlight initially laid out. The Completed system was up and running before Halloween and has been operating smoothly since the initial activation.
Thanks to the entire Earthlight team, from administration/accounting through engineering/design, installation, and follow up.

We are so excited about our new solar panels! The crew did a great job and had our system installed in just a few hours while respecting our home and leaving no mess behind. The electrical work that they did was tidy and the new Enphase panel installed looked so nice and professional. We went with a PPA so we are saving money and the planet!!! ( crew does respond well to fresh baked cookies….)

I have only positive things to share about Earthlight Solar. I met them at Home & Garden Show 2025 and were impressed with their willingness to evaluate my home and at that time my metal tile roof( which most companies said they wouldn't touch) after I decided to go with a new roof, this company was clear in their contracting process, they always responded to questions and called me back under 24 hours, and the team that I met here in my home were kind, knowledgeable and respectful. The only "off" employee was a woman in their business office who sent me to someone else to answer questions about my various payments due to them, as I had credit coming back from using less panels than original bid. My question was answered promptly by the other agent. Can't go wrong with Earthlight! Very happy!

Earthlight was fantastic to work with! They installed a total of 37 panels on our house and a shed. They worked with us closely at every step of the way, and they were excellent communicators.

We figured the payoff for the installation would take eleven years. But PGE has raised rates almost 50% since our installation, so it will be much sooner.

We had a leakage problem after the installation. But they very quickly and completely cover the fixes without any hassles or hesitation. These guys have been wonderful to work with. I highly recommend them!

Earthlight did a phenomenal job installing our new solar panels—professional, responsive, and punctual. Everything about the process was smooth, a relief after dealing with so many other flaky home projects.
