Contractor came out in July to review the project, then said they would get back to us with a quote. Didn't hear anything for two months, so called and they didn't know who we were. I had to jog their memory before they remembered. Three months later, no quote, no follow-up emails.

We had water damage under our home and were referred to Scnear Contracting. Their team responded quickly and were very professional. They 'showed up' when we were in a bind, and helped ease our minds. The damage was extensive, and they provided the necessary equipment to repair. Their entire team was easy to work with and responsive.

As a real estate broker, it is essential that efficiency, quality and attention to detail is performed. This company exceeded my expectations. I recommend them for my clients when they are in a pinch to make improvements to list to sell. He helped us with our insurance claim after the ice storm, he even came out to speak with the insurance adjuster. He goes above and beyond. He is a very honest guy who is out to help not rip you off.

This company is fast gaining a bad reputation. Not only do they have a reputation of cheating clients out of money by double billing, over inflating bids, making changes to plans without clients approval…they also are developing a reputation of not paying sub contractors in a timely manner.

Ensure you do your due diligence. I do not recommend using this company or any other company associated with them. Any company that recommends their services should be considered suspect.

They completely remodeled our bathroom down to the studs and rebuilt everything. It turned out absolutely amazing! They show great attention to detail and clean up throughly everyday before leaving. We have also used them to tear out a garage conversion and so some much needed repair work needed around the house. We plan on using them for future projects down the road. We highly recommend Michael Scnear Contracting. Michael, Pete, Miguel and Christian we are all wonderful to work with!

Our family had a fire at our home and had to scramble to get things put together. Pete was an absolute pleasure to work with! He got us an estimate quickly, worked with our insurance company seamlessly, scheduled subcontractors diligently, and completed our project on time (actually a week early)! Highly recommend this company to my clients, friends, and family.

I have used Scnear Contracting on 2 occasions. The first was after the recent fires in my area. Luckily my house survived, but, needed a great deal of cleaning and some repairs. Peter handled all the cleaning scheduling, dealt with the cleaning companies, repair contractors and the insurance company making the process easy and stress free. Everything was done quickly and efficiently. Peter was at the house to meet every contractor and make sure everyone was preforming to his standards. Other houses on my street that had less damage and started clean up sooner are still being worked on. (6 months later).
The other project was after the fire. I had Scnear built a studio for my wife’s office/art room. Again, I was very impressed with Micheal, Peter and their crew. They showed up as scheduled, work efficiently and did very good work. I believe they did a very good job, more importantly, my wife thinks they a great job.

Any remodeling project is a challenge. A remodeling project when you live more than 550 miles away can be a nightmare. Thanks to Michael Scnear Contracting the home we bought in Eugene turned out exactly as we had hoped! Michael Scnear, Peter VanderBogart and their crews did a wonderful job. Their work was excellent, their suggestions as to how to approach issues with the house were extremely helpful, and their willingness to put in extra effort to meet our deadline was wonderful. I would definitely recommend them.

Our home sustained smoke damage from last years Holiday Farm Fire. Pemco insurance recommended Pete VanderBogart from Michael Scnear Contracting to assist us with these repairs. From the very first call Pete has been professional and responsive, overseeing the cleanup of our attic, heat and air ducts (and still to be done garage). The workers and services he arranged have been prompt, courteous and great to work with and Pete always followed up to be sure we were satisfied. Pete also went above and beyond and offered to provide much needed barn doors for my studio - a 'wish list' item but very necessary to my work. Pete arranged to have doors custom made by McClusky Cabinets. Michael Scnear came out to measure and shortly thereafter Pete, Michael and crew delivered and installed these beautiful applewood barn doors. Though there was an issue with the install I felt completely comfortable discussing these details with Pete. We were touched by the very personal and thorough service we received and are thankful we had someone like Pete to oversee these projects. Great service we highly recommend! The only issue is we never got a call back to complete the spraying if our garage which was what was agreed for completion of our insurance claim!

Had work done by "From the ground up" on our winter home in Hawaii. Awesome work and reasonable prices, would recommend them to anyone who is looking for any type of construction work. I just need to figure out how to lure them back to Hawaii.

From the Ground Up Construction re-roofed our home, which required significant rebuilding due to dry rot. Their specialized knowledge determined that the original design of the roof did not have adequate ventilation and drainage due to the slope of the roof. They completely rebuilt and redesigned the roof and added specialized venting and drainage channels. They have also remodeled our adjacent shop. The work crew were knowledgeable, courteous and hard working, they got the job done in record time and the results were spectacular. I will use them for any of my future projects. I HIGHLY recommend them for all of your construction needs!

I bought a house built in 1970 this past spring and needed to do a full remodel on it before my family moved in. I am not a contractor, so I wanted someone who had ideas and experience to make my dream home come true. I spent hours on Google reviews and Angie's List looking for contractors to interview. I ended up interviewing 6 contractors at my new house. These contractors ranged from a single man operation to a very large local builder. The remodel was going to consist of building a new master bathroom, pantry, and laundry room. The kitchen was basically going to be gutted, lots of tile work, new doors, all new trim, rock in a brick fireplace, and new floors would be put in throughout the house. The remodel was a daunting task and extremely intimidating. I found From the Ground Up Construction by reading Google reviews. Allen and Dori, the owners and contractors, were extremely responsive and came out to the house right away to share ideas and take measurements. Their bid was delivered a short time later and was extremely competitive. They were so genuine and easy to talk to. Their experience in the building industry was obvious and their ideas showed that. I hired Allen and Dori and I am glad that I did. The remodel took over two months and cost over $80,000. It was a large project because it involved many moving parts from subcontractors, schedules, permits, inspections, etc. Allen and Dori were punctual, worked extremely hard and thorough, honest, trustworthy, and completed the work in a timely manner. Allen and Dori went far above and beyond what I asked of them. Our relationship with them was not an employee/contractor, but they were like family. There is really not enough space here for me to list all of those details, but my family is so grateful for their work. If you need any project done, you would be doing yourself a huge favor by bringing them out for a bid. I cannot recommend them enough.

We had a half bath that really needed an update. Ground Up delivered even more than I hoped. They found that there was rot and mold in the flooring which they didn’t expect and removed it all. I appreciated all the advice tips and the finished product is fabulous. A hard working husband and wife team and so meticulous in their work. I highly recommend them for any home improvements project.
