Doug came out to give me an estimate. I wanted a hack and chop job done on my maple. He let me know that his focus is more on making trees beautiful. He proceeded to give me a ton of advice on how to best go about getting my job done. I was really impressed that he wanted the best for me and my family even though he wasn't going to be doing the job. It's clear to me that Doug is passionate about his work and cares about people first and foremost in the process. Would highly recommend if your tree is in need of tlc and beautification.

Doug and Ryan did a fantastic job on my trees and shrubs. Very knowledgeable about every kind of tree (apple, pear, plum, maple, dogwood, and burning bush). Each plant is work of art to them and it shows in their careful and caring pruning. They worked quickly and quietly. An absolute pleasure to work with!

Doug and his crew saved us after last weekend’s ice storm. Our 200-year-old white oak lost several large limbs, all of which fell on our home. We weren’t sure of the damage to our roof, so they went to the roof and found five holes from the fallen limbs, went to the hardware store to buy shingles, and patched the holes as best as they could until a roofing company can do a complete repair. Then they removed any other potentially dangerous limbs from our tree and thoroughly cleaned up the horrendous mess left from the storm. Doug also eased our anxieties after the trauma of what happened and made us feel safe in our home again. I cannot recommend them highly enough.

We had Jason and Ryan over for the day today. They trimmed our trees after 19 years of growth - and did a masterful job! This is definitely a company to do business with. They were friendly, knowledgeable, efficient, and our property looks great!

Doug is friendly and casual, but very professional. He's very obliging, while still giving an arborist's opinion of what is good for the tree, and how it will look as the tree continues to grow. I also like the way he treats his employees - with courtesy and respect.

Had Doug come out and give us a quote which they stuck to when they came to perform the work two weeks later which was great as there were no additional charges. They even took the extra effort of moving some of my lawn decorations so they won't be damaged while they perform their work and move them back after they were done. Did an excellent job of cleaning up after themselves so that there was no bark or debris left behind. Would definitely recommend and would use them again.

Had Doug Hornaday and his co-arborist, Jason, out to our house to help us get our trees and hedges into shape. Doug and Jason were wonderful to work with and the results are phenomenal. Our front and back yards have never looked better. We're so pleased, we're looking forward to using Artistic Arborist again in the future. They were so courteous and professional. After the ice storm in Jan of 2024, my son and I were in our front yard trying to get some low hanging broken branches out of our tree. Doug was driving by, pulled over, and offered to get them all out with his ladder and pole saw, free of charge. 30-40 mins later my tree was all clear of any hanging dangers. Friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful, I would definitely recommend. Thanks again!

I had a huge tree split in two during snowpocalypse 2019. Half of it fell in my back yard and the other part remained but needed to go. I called Doug and he had his crew over within 2 days during what was probably the busiest time of the year for them. They did an amazing job of cleaning everything up and were very reasonably priced. Years ago I saw a truck with the logo "Artistic Arborist" and made a mental note. Shortly afterwards, an ice storm damaged a very large cotoneaster so I called Doug. He assured me that it would regrow and it did. In this last recent ice storm, my gorgeous camelia split and splayed open. Doug made time in his busy schedule and saved it. I was so grateful! He is a TRUE ARTIST and the only arborist I trust. I also appreciate how he answers all my questions and educates me about the proper way to care for my trees. Thank you so much, Doug! Doug was professional, and incredibly efficient. My tree was down and chipped and cleaned up in record time. He went above and beyond to leave the job site clean when he was finished, and is a dude with a ton of integrity, knowledge, and work ethic . I will use their service again and recommend them to others. I have 5 large palm trees that had gotten too tall for us to trim. Their palm tree specialist came and did a terrific job, and educated us on how palm trees grow! Very prompt, cleaned up, and their estimate was accurate.

We have used Doug several times to trim, prune, and remove trees. He and his crew always arrive on time, discuss the project with us before starting, keep at the task, and do a great job of cleanup and hauling off the debris in a timely fashion. On the recommendation of my neighbors, I hired Doug Harnaday, Artistic Arborist, to cut down several dead firs along my fence and overhanging the road.
Doug and his crew did a fantastic job! They took down all the trees safely, chipped the branches into a pile, and cleaned the place so you’d never think anything had gone on there the day before.
One part I really liked is the way Doug bid the job. He is very transparent—he estimates the man-hours to do your project, and if it takes less hours he only bills for that amount. In my case, Doug and his crew were so efficient that they finished the job and were able to cut several additional trees than what we had originally planned. Doug even stayed extra to cut down a large snag.
