This company took over the landscaping at our apartment complex less than six months ago and our grounds have gone to ruin after years of being beautiful… they are horrible. Less than less than even possible and still get paid seems to be their work motto. Really upset with our property manager for hiring and keeping them. As a consumer in the real world, I would never keep them longer than a day. Shame on them !!!

The crew did a Great job doing a winter clean up in my yard! I have a very large yard and they cleaned up all my beds getting rid of all the leafs and dead plants. They also trimmed all my shrubs and trees. It looks great! They were very professional and knowledgeable. Thank you!

Great company with great employees. Alan is a wizard with water and should be your 1st call for any troubles you have with a system. The guy does great pond work too. Professional company with a fleet that can handle almost any job.

Tim came to my house to help with my sprinklers; he was patient with me explaining and teaching me about my system, he was respectful of my home and kind, he was on time and prompt, overall great experience thanks to him. I never felt like he was offering me anything I didn't need, and solved my problem in a few hours of time. As a construction business owner myself, it was good to see an employee who was thorough and knowledgeable. I will use a and k again in the future I am sure because of this experience.

Highly recommend. The owner has personally gone to bat for us, Erin and her team have gone to bat for us. They have made a world of difference in the quality of our commercial landscaping. We have a large self storage site, which is a lot of work. Erin personally shows up on site to check on her team and the site and has a great working relationship with both myself and my team. We highly recommend A&K Landscaping. They re-landscaped our back yard (roughly 50X100 ft) this April. They removed the existing landscaping, added 1000 sq. ft of pavers on 3 patios, a water feature, and 250 new plants, and a new lawn, within budget and on time!. The landscape architect did a beautiful job on the design, communicated her ideas and sought out our tastes and preferences. The highly skilled landscapers were a joy to have around, were friendly with us and each other, while working safely and efficiently. We were impressed with their architectural style and attention to detail on each component. They used the best materials, and obtained high quality plants, including 8 trees, a few being over 12 ft tall. Again, a great experience and a fantastic result from A&K Landscaping!

I have had them out to our house on two occasions, one to set up our irrigation system that had been off for years, and the other to deal with an issue of our sprinklers being stuck on. Both times I was helped by Josiah and he was absolutely fantastic. Fixed the issues quickly, was very kind and understanding, and highly informative in explaining and answering any questions about the system that I had.

This is our first year with A & K Landscaping managing our in-ground sprinkler system. We are very pleased with the quality of their work and the communication between A & K and our family. We definitely made the right choice when we selected A & K Landscaping.

I live over at a complex they work on (River Terrace) and they’ve kept up on the leaves great this year. Even gently blew off my car since there were leafs on and around it.

Thank you A&K landscaping for fixing my irrigation system. I had a break in my main line close to my concrete driveway that I was not comfortable fixing myself so I called A&K for help. They got me scheduled as soon as they could and made the whole process easy. The two guys arrived on time the day I was scheduled and were very knowledgeable and professional. I would definitely call A&K again if I have any problems in the future.

Very thankful for the help I received after contacting Alan at A&K Landscaping. The crew at A&K repaired a rock wall after being damaged by a van. Great communication, fast, efficient, and professional. Thank you for a great job!

Update: June 2025, attempted to hire A&K again. Had to leave a detailed message for Alan. after a week without a callback, I called to follow up on my earlier message. Was unsuccessful at getting beyond the receptionist with her screening questions. Eventually had to wish her a good day and start searching for a different Durabond Fencing contractor and sprinkler expert.

Two techs came out to fix our irrigation system. When I booked the service, I was told the hourly rate was $110/hour (or something like that). I was billed $110 per tech, which I was not told about. I've never had a service company charge per person, including every plumber I've ever used, even when they sent two techs. Second, they left the new electric connection exposed and outside of the control box instead of just lengthening the wire. I wasn't thrilled about that. (There was not enough slack to pull the wire any more.) Finally, the people I spoke with on the phone were abrupt a kind of rude. That's the last time I'll be calling.

Tl;dr: A&K can't explain why their quote is 3x more than other landscapers. Don't let yourself get scammed. See attached photo of quote with my price/labor breakdown (in red).

UPDATE 2: The response below from A&K doesn't hold water.

1) A doubling, or even tripling of the labor cost compared to a smaller landscaper still wouldn't come close to what they quoted.

2) If the quality and equipment is as good as they say, I imagine they would have had the idea to hire out moving soil to Lane Forest Products or Rexius. Using their soil blower (as I've done in the past). Costing a few hundred extra bucks on top of the soil cost, but saving a double or triple it's price in labor compared to moving by hand.

I can AND WILL opt for quality work over cheap shortcuts. This should be 20-30% over market price. Not 300-400% more.

You are in the same town as me. There was no hauling/cleanup involved in the job.

Quality work fits well within my budget. Being scammed by a company hoping I don't know any better is NOT within my budget.

Don't let these guys scam you.

Asked for a quote for some trench digging, basic yard maintenance, and making some raised beds. I'm thinking 15, 25 hours of work, max.

I even used ChatGPT to help confirm labor + material should come out to $1,600–$2,400, assuming $50/hr labor and moving the soil with a wheelbarrow (most expensive option, just rent a blower IMO).

A&K came back with a $7,000+ quote.

The employee they sent to create the bid was great. I was very responsive and provided detailed information and photos, as I feel and prospective client should.

Not sure if they simply didn't want the job, but I found this quote to be unreasonable and kind of insulting.

UPDATE 1: Heard from another local landscaper. Quoted me $800 in labor for about 70% of the job. I understand a professional company will charge more, but come on guys...

Service is timely, reliable, and high quality. Chad is always on top things. Felix and Hector are friendly and highly skilled with yard work. They know what they are doing but cater to my specific desires and are happy to take care of any adjustments or special handling when I request. I am a master gardener and particular about taking care of my landscape but I am unable to do so adequately now so I have turned it over to A&K. They have gained my complete faith and support in how they operate and what they do. I highly recommend their service.

A&K is extremely professional, and their communication is outstanding. Their team stays on top of the ground crews and ensures the finished product is exceptional. I would highly recommend A&K to anyone looking for a reliable, high-quality landscaping company.
