We could not have had a better experience with Scott - he is the contractor every homeowner hopes they will get when they bid out a job. Knowledgeable and personable, and he did such an outstanding job with our tank-to-tankless water heater install and new gas line that the city inspector called it "fantastic," and "commercial quality, rare to see in a residential install." The install was done on a Wednesday, and on Thursday the inspector signed off and Scott turned on the gas, so only 24 hours without hot water. He made sure all our other gas appliances were functional after the gas was turned back on, cleaned up all the debris, and even painted the new exterior gas line to prevent rust.

Mason was efficient and professional. The installation for a new heater took less than 2 hours and he was amenable to additional requests like changing valves. The price was reasonable as well. Thank you!

Excellent job, Jake! Excellent experience! Our water heater stopped working on the weekend. We called several companies for help. No one can send their technicians within a few days or cost an arm and a leg. I’m so glad we called Stan the Hot Water Man. Jake the technician was very professional and efficient, and he installed the new tank within an hour and explained lots of things to me. I ended up saving a lot of money. I highly recommend going with this company if you need a new hot water heater. You can’t beat their price or service!

Hunter showed up right on time, quickly diagnosed the problem and replaced the gas valve. Time will tell, but for now all seems to be working well.

Our 2 year-old Rheem water heater started dripping condensation, so we called this company. The technician took off his shoes at the front door as I requested and went downstairs to take a look at it. It only took 3 mins or so. Then, he told us it wasn't our water heater, and there was nothing we could do. He had to go grab the device for the payment so went back to his car. When he came back, he forgot to take off his shoes. I politely reminded him to take them off. He did not apologize at all or did not even look sorry. He was't rude, but wasn't friendly either. We could tell he was just so busy that he didn't wanna spend much time. Maybe because it was a 85 gallon water heater downstairs, and it'd be too heavy to carry upstairs? Anyway, he didn't even ask us if we had any questions at the end. He chraged us $180 for his visit.
The next day, my partner called Rheem, and found out it actually WAS the water heater's problem. We called another company and they carefully replaced it with a new water heater.

I booked with Mason on a neighbor recommendation and I'm pleased I did. I needed my aging water heater replaced and it was a quick, clean and precise job. Would definitely use this company again and pass the recommendation along.

Excellent service and best price in PDX. My gas hot water heater (original to the home, so it was probably on its last legs) finally went out in winter, so I shopped around with the local companies specializing in hot water heater repair and replacement. Stan The Hot Water Man was significantly cheaper than the other companies. Their service was also great and the technicians communicated quickly and professionally. 5/5 stars and would hire again.

We wanted to preemptively replace our hot water heater before it went out, and had the opportunity to take our time and call around for quotes. For our lowboy water electric water heater, we were quoted all over the map- the highest was over $3000.

I am so happy to report that the google reviews for Stan the Hot Water Man are right-- their pricing was beyond fair, they were easy to communicate with, and they showed up and we had a new water heater in about 3 hours. They were so efficient, knowledgeable, and didn't try to up-sell us on anything.

We're going to use them for yearly maintenance of the unit going forward, because I know I won't need a new hot water heater for a while!

Thank you to Jesse for helping us with a Bradford White water heater that was in a house we had just purchased. The manager at Keller Supply gave us their contact information and after talking to Bradford White, they confirmed by the serial number that we were still under warranty. They also mentioned Stan the Water Heater Man as being very knowledgeable. You might not know but many water heaters have warranties that follow the water heater even if you were not the first owner. Water Heater Man was able to work with BW on their warranty and we were thankfully back to hot showers and using the dishwasher again. I recommend them highly.

We noticed our hot water heater was leaking and called Stan the Hot Water Man first thing in the morning. They sent someone to our house and replaced our hot water heater within a couple of hours. The technician was very friendly and finished the job in an hour. I highly recommend using this company.

Stain’s team replaced my gas hot water heater, and after installation the pilot light kept going out. They came back promptly to fix it, and Hunter was very professional and friendly throughout the process. Great service!

If you have a water tank issue. These are the guys to call. I had another well regarded company come out and they advised I needed a new tank for $2400. I then called Stan’s and spoke with Johny over the phone and he did some troubleshooting over the phone. He came out the same day and quickly found the issue. $200 easy repair. Call these guys first!!

Stan the Hot Water Man has been a reliable, affordable and knowledgeable company in Portland for decades. They stand by their work and even file manufacturer warranty info with new installs on behalf of their clients. Their workmanship holds a 1 year warranty. I’ve been a real eater broker for 20+ years and they are always the most affordable and are always quick to respond. Mason and Andrew were fantastic with a recent install, even hauled away an old tank that was rusting out and full of an ant colony. Mason was an absolute professional and handled it without any complaints or hesitation.

Great company, I have used them before and
recommended them to three of my neighbors. When my water heater failed recently, I called and was scheduled within 30 minutes. The tech, when he arrived, was in a fully equipped service van (no part chasing). The issue was diagnosed within 10 min, and the repair was made quickly. He was extremely knowledgeable and professional; the labor and parts charges were fair. Nobody wants a cold water heater, but the excellent repair experience with Stan The Hot Water Man will make it easier to accept.

The water heater in our rental started leaking out of nowhere, and our property manager sent Stan out to put in a new one. Super friendly guy, very professional, and we talked about our dogs a bit. My two little lunatics (a Boston terrier and a Frenchton) were upstairs shrieking like they expected the reanimated corpse of Charles Manson to burst in at any moment wielding a hatchet, but they do that when a leaf blows by the front door, so it certainly wasn't Stan's fault. I would absolutely recommend Stan to anyone needing this type of service!

This company is top notch. Matt Ravio came out and installed my new hot water heater. He was equipped with everything he needed for the installation. As a General contractor my self, being prepared for the installation is the most important thing. No one wants to hear, "I don't have a part I'll have to come back". Simply not the case with Matt. He showed up in a beautiful service truck, well organized. It made the service incredibly efficient. The water was off for less than an hr. The best part was we had a great conversation there entire service, like it was no sweat. My wife was so happy that we won't be stuck without hot water heater in the dead of winter. Happy wife, happy life. Their quote was half of the other heater company. Thank you Stan! And thank you Matt. It's no contest they are the best in the business and really care about the community around them.

Purchased a Rinnai hot water heater from this company in 2019. Then this year it started throwing error codes. I messaged the company through it's website and tried to schedule an appointment to have it serviced. Ignored. Tried again. Ignored again. This company's strategy is to make it's money by selling new units (at premium prices) and then ghosting customers when problems pop up. Predatory. WATCH OUT

Fast. Efficient. Just got my 20 year old gas water heater replaced. I called on a Monday and I was connected with Jonny in the Vancouver area. He was open to see photos of what was happening - external corrosion on my expansion tank, small drips from the drain valve, and it’s a 20 year old machine; clear signs it was done.

We sent 10 photos of the hot water heater to him. And he said yep, I can help replace your 40 gallon gas. He had time Tuesday to afternoon.

Came shortly before two and finished in 45 minutes.

For me, this was perfect and effective communication, and I’m glad to support a family owned business.

BONUS:
Stan the Hot Water man was the only company that picked up the phone when I was getting bids. I called 3 other plumbing places and got stuck in phone trees.

Just go with this company. No regrets.

Stan the Hot Water Man is unreliable in my experience. Despite the 4+ star rating on Google, this business does not always stand behind it's products (cutting corners and ghosting customers). Proceed with caution should you need to use their products and/or services.

My old water heater start leaking, I ask around and Mason give me the most reasonable price. He came in, remove the old water heater, and install the new one; get everything done within 2 hours and clean up the place. I will use him again from now on for any related work if needed.
