David and his crew at Blackstone Valley Asphalt might be one of the most professional teams I have had the pleasure of working with.
David was clear and transparent about the work, was highly communicative, and prioritized the work around multiple days of bad weather.
Once his crew arrived they never stopped working and were able to accomplish everything with ease.
Most importantly they were kind and respectful to my wife, which, unfortunately, I cannot say has been true of all contractors I have worked with.

I reached out for a quotation from Blackstone and within a few minutes I received an email from David (owner) asking what type of service I needed. After a few brief emails we setup a time to receive a quotation and David provided the estimate on the spot and followed up via email with a formal quote. He required a modest down payment and then scheduled the job. The initial estimate request was 29March my driveway was paved on 17Apr - incredibly fast turnaround. The job included tearing up an existing driveway and expanding the sq ft to create additional parking. The team arrived at 9am and was done by late afternoon. The job was comprehensive, no debris was left behind and the quality is solid. We had a very good experience with Blackstone Valley Asphalt - David’s responsiveness is incredible!

Had a small patch needing repair after a tree removal tractor found the weaken areas from bouring animals.
This was the only company willing to take a small job where other companies wouldn't call me back and only wanting bigger ones paying more.
The did a great job, while the darker colored new surface would be the only way tell it was the new repaired area.
I would hire them again.

I wish i had a before picture, but the after pics show the quality of workmanship delivered by David and his crew. They worked fast, efficiently, and skillfully to rip out two layers of an old driveway, build up the sub material, level it, and pack it down before laying seamless new blacktop. David even came back the same day and sealed the sidewalk and driveway to match. He was competitive on price. It's great to invest in a local family business that stands behind their work rather than a fly-by-night mega-corporation. I will not hesitate to call David to reseal it every couple years!

Blackstone repaved my driveway today and I could not be more pleased with the results. The crew did an outstanding job from start to finish, they were professional, efficient, detail-oriented, and the final results speak for themselves.

Very happy with how our driveway turned out. We redid the existing driveway and expanded it on the sides and at the top. Got a couple quotes and was more comfortable with Blackstone on both the plan and the price. Crew started and finished in one day.

Blackstone Asphalt paved my driveway on April 26, 2026. The owner, David, was professional, and although his pricing was a little higher than the other contractor, he matched the competing proposal, which I appreciated.

The crew consisted of approximately 6-7 in total and worked very hard and continuously throughout the day on the 2,500 sq ft driveway. They arrived around 9am and, to my understanding, completed the work around 4:30pm—I was not there the entire time. The driveway surface appeared smooth at the completion of the project.

Vehicles were kept off the driveway for six full days after paving.

I previously worked as an architectural designer, so I have a good understanding of construction practices. In general, quality and long‑term durability of an asphalt driveway depends on four main factors:

1) A well‑built and properly compacted base

2) Adequate asphalt thickness (typically a minimum of 2” inches after rolling and compaction)

3) Proper temperatures during installation, with asphalt laid at approximately 250 and compacted no lower than 185 degrees

4) Thorough rolling and compaction, ideally using a roller weighing 3 tons or more

The driveway was expected to receive approximately 3” of asphalt, although it was not clearly specified whether that measurement was before or after rolling and compaction, and I was not present for the entire duration of the project…my only observation is that the roller roller they used appear to be on the lighter side.

Three days ago (5/9) I inspected the driveway and took the enclosed photos which show some scuffing, small amount of loose surface aggregate, and a few tire marks. Although I wish this did not happen, I know that these conditions are not unusual for newly paved asphalt, particularly because asphalt can take up to one year to fully cure…these should blend and dissaper once the asphalt cure.

At this stage, the overall appearance and workmanship seem good. In terms of durability, time will be the true test, as quality issues typically become evident several years after installation. A properly constructed asphalt driveway have a lifespan of 20 or more years. For now, I am satisfied with the work and hopeful that the driveway will perform well over the long term, which will lead me to use Blackstone for future projects.

So, my experience with Blackstone Asphalt has been positive, and I appreciate the effort and work ethic demonstrated by David and his crew.

Brixco, has done a lot of work for us over the past 3-4 years at Redwood Chapel. They have knowledgeable staff, clean up well after projects, and do quality work. This applies to their grading, asphalt, stripe and concrete crews as well as their site supervisors.

Additionally, Jeremy Hill who is the project manager that I have worked with on all of our projects is professional, communicates well through all phases of the projects we have had while helping us to keep costs down. Jeremy is very responsive to our needs/questions and also helps walk with us through each project by helping to think things through for the best possible outcome.
