Rocks & Cornerstones

I hired Rocks & Cornerstones to complete extensive work in my home in 2019. It was my first time working with a professional contractor for renovations in my home. I am really pleased with the outcome of their work. Bose Houser and her team really helped transform my house into a home. They worked with me to identify a reasonable work plan for my home that aligned with my budget. The work involved remodeling my kitchen, refinishing my floors, removing and replacing a drop tile ceiling in my living room, removing and replacing my front and screen doors, and performing some interior painting. The end result was better than I had envisioned!

I found the staff to be very professional, flexible, and respectful of my space. Bose Houser worked with me throughout every aspect of the project to ensure that my wishes were met and that I was satisfied with the end results. Even when unexpected issues surfaced during the project, which are inevitable, Bose Houser worked with me to find quick and reasonable solutions that did not require additional money or jeopardize the goals for the other projects.

Although the job was expected to be completed by January of 2020, it did not wrap up until May. This was due to several reasons: unexpected issues that surfaced, delivery delays for parts that were ordered, staffing shortages, construction business operation restrictions due to covid, and other projects that the company may have been working on simultaneously. This aspect of the project was frustrating since I did not have a clear idea on when the work would resume or be completed. Bose Houser attempted to keep me updated throughout this timeframe, but the plans to continue the work changed often and were pushed back repeatedly. This proved to be challenging since I could not rely on the communications, and properly prepare my home and schedule according to these plans.

It's also important to note that while Bose Houser is a phenomenal contractor, she primarily manages the business aspect of the company and does not perform the actual work. The work was primarily completed by other staff and subcontractors who varied in their skill and attention to detail. For someone like myself who values attention to detail, this was very apparent. This is one aspect you may want to discuss further as you prepare for your project.

Despite the delays and unexpected challenges that arose, I am pleased with the end result. I would recommend this business for your next home project!

Bose helped me design my kitchen. She is great to work with, very hands on and attentive and did her best to make sure I was satisfied. She also took my ideas and taste into consideration. She did a fantastic job!

Had a full kitchen renovation and I am absolutely pleased with the results. New cabinets, granite, moved location of appliances and Bose designed the entire thing. She did all shopping providing a wide arrange of options for us to choose from. Very responsive and did not ask for final payment until after her last walkthrough to ensure all final details were completed. Will work with her again, already planning our next project.
