Al came by a year or two ago to consult me on a fireplace that I had. He easily could have sold me a bill of goods but let me know that I was fine with what I had. It's good when you find ethical people who won't take advantage of the fact that you know nothing about their trade!

Al is a certified chimney sweep who has been in the business now for 12 years. I called him because I had not had my chimney cleaned in years, which I have to admit was not very smart on my part. Al is friendly and very skilled at his job. He uses tarps to keep your carpets clean and has a large vacuum to effectively collect the ash dust that falls from the chimney. He cleans the chimney from the fireplace (no need to get up on your roof) and makes the whole process seem effortless. He cleaned and pointed my fireplace for a very reasonable price. If you are looking for an honest, friendly, skilled and reasonably priced chimney sweep, Al's your guy.

We recently moved to Bethel Park from Florida and needed a chimney expert to prepare our fireplace for gas logs. Al is definitely that expert. He responded quickly, arrive on time and took every precaution to prevent anything from getting dirty. He took his time and explained everything he was doing. He even gave us some great tips on things we could do to enhance the appearance of our fireplace. We highly recommend Al's Chimney Sweep!

In late October (a pretty busy period as people are starting to use their fireplaces again), Al was able to fit me in within a week for a fireplace/chimney inspection and cleaning. I got several quotes and Al's price was on par with all other quotes. Al showed up right on time, very nice guy. He noticed an issue with the fireplace right away (excess moisture from outside). He recommended I take care of that issue first, and offered to do the full cleaning/inspection at a later date and to charge me then.

I ended up asking him to do the cleaning/inspection at that time anyway, which he did. All the while, he was giving me tips about the fireplace (what wood to use, how to keep it clean, etc). He also gave me quotes for a new cap and damper.

Overall very good experience and would highly recommend Al's Chimney Sweep.

Al was very punctual, and extremely knowledgeable. I bought my house four years ago and my home inspector recommended that I get the chimney cleaned before using my fire place. Al arrived very punctual and at first look he could tell the fire place had been cleaned before I bought the house so it didn’t need done. He then went on to inspect the chimney and was very thorough. After he gave us the all clear he told use what to do when having the first fire and what type of wood would be best, he was extremely polite and knowledgeable. I would recommend him to everyone!

He provided solid advice given my situation, even though it meant that there was no additional work for him to complete. Al and his crew literally just left my home after completing (what I had previously been quoted) would be a 4-5 day job. They completely repaired my chimney above the roof line in less than a full day. His crew was outstanding and extremely professional. Al is hands-down a class act and transparent, honest business owner. He stayed on the job the whole time and spent a great deal of time with me walking me through exactly what was going to happen. His work supersedes the cost (which is well worth every penny). I’m ecstatic and so is my wife. We will absolutely use them again in the future for anything that’s needed.
