We’re extremely pleased with Davey Tree’s work for us. Starting with the initial assessment by arborist Ron Hegener, we hired them to prune our huge trees, 2 Oaks and a Sycamore. The crew of Dave, Martin, and Derek were most professional and obviously very experienced. I was amazed to watch them work from ropes to prune and clear branches. They were friendly, punctual, thorough, and did a wonderful job cleaning up our yard before they left. The arborist Ron was very helpful explaining our trees’ condition and updating us throughout the process. We plan to use them in the future.

Across the street from my house this past week, Davey Tree was trimming a very large tree, 5 hours of work. As they finished trimming, and as they were cleaning up, I saw a worker cleaning the street. My house is directly across from where Davey Tree was working. The street was covered with little pieces of bark and branches and leaves. The worker proceeded to blow all the debris into my front yard including the salt and salt dust from previous snow. I confronted the Davey Tree worker about it and he said nothing as he starred at me. I then contacted their office immediately and spoke to a woman named, Becky and she said she would call the crew at the work site across my house for them to clean up my yard. Ten minutes later, no clean up and the trucks and drove away. I called Becky back, explained nothing was done to help clean up the mess, and she said she would tell a manager. I ended up raking my front yard and sweeping the street. I cannot believe this company would actually do this and feel it was acceptable business practice. Now 4 days later and no phone call to apologize or hear my concerns. Be very careful before hiring this group, as they are totally lacking any respect for other people.

I’m very pleased with the service from Davey’s tree. They worked quickly and did much needed major trimming to my 200 year old oak trees. The price was very reasonable too! I highly recommend them!

The guys did a beautiful job on our yard work, cutting down trees and trimming many other trees. They were very helpful and did a good job cleaning up. Our yard looks so much better now! I couldn’t believe how easy and quick it was to schedule them to come out to do the work. In previous years, I had our landscaper do the work, and it took forever.. When we need additional work done, I will definitely call Davey Tree service!

Sometimes you’re hesitant to call a big company like Davey Tree, because you don’t know if they will service you like a local company. Well, my recent experience proved all of that wrong. It started with a quick response to my call, then a punctual visit from Eric the sales rep. And he wasn’t just a rep, he knew the genus of every tree in my yard. I’ve lived here for 20 years and didn’t know half of them. He fairly and accurately estimated the job, and the guys who showed up to do the work were consummate professionals. Greg and John took their time, were respectful of the property and the neighborhood, and didn’t saw my head off when I pointed at branches and asked them to cut them. Everything went according to plan and they cleaned up as if they were never there. I highly recommend Davey to anyone looking for big company quality and small company service.

We love Davey Tree in Gibsonia. We’ve had them trim and cut down trees/shrubs at two properties over the past few years. They also spray for lanternflies on one of our favorite trees that was been being killed by the bugs (and it’s now thriving!). Bill is always professional, knowledgeable, and wonderful to work with. Their crews finish the job quickly and safely, and clean up after themselves. You might pay slightly more than the cheaper companies, but you get high quality work and peace of mind that they’ll do it right.

We have been using Davey Tree for the past three years: treating and trimming large oaks, treating hemlocks for pests, taking out an invasive tree and replacing it with a nice native tree, etc. Every employee has been prompt, communicative, professional, knowledgeable and friendly. They all clearly love what they are doing and are very well trained. We are customers for life!

We reached out to Davey for assistance with a downed tree after the epic storm that crushed the Pittsburgh area in late April 2025. The rep that came to view the damage was fantastic. Concise, honest, and very helpful. The estimate that we received was considerably lower than any other service that we had reached out to. A crew was on site in days. Despite the pouring rain, they did a quick and amazing job with the downed vegetation, and in a very difficult to reach area of the property. Very professional and were quick to clean up after themselves every step of the way. This is our first time using Davey, but we would highly recommend to friends and neighbors.

We were advised by several experts that our crabapple trees would not survive a tree scab fungus - Davey Tree made full disclosure of the same but still offered to treat them to my agreement. They provided a late spring/early treatment and then a fall treatment in 2024. At that point every leaf had fallen and were infected. The three trees recently received a spring treatment and….wow! They fully bloomed once again and so far there are no signs of leaf decay!!! This company is trustworthy, reliable, knowledgeable, and the price is reasonable!!! I highly recommend their professional services.

The Davey team was efficient and cleaned up the area well afterward. Overall, we were pleased with the results.

Approved quote 24 days ago. Since then, reached out to sales rep 3 times - no answer. Called their main line close to a week ago, no call back. Fully regret moving forward with these guys. No idea when (if ever?) this work will get done.

09/29/2025 update: Without ranting, I would never use this company again. Don't bother calling in to complain, that'll fall on deaf ears.

10/10/2025 update: No follow up call to address anything (concerns, was I happy, etc.). These guys suck.

Great crew that did an excellent job on 2 big trees. Cleaned up afterwards like they weren’t here. Have used Davey for years and will continue to.

My experience with Davey has always been extremely positive--most especially since I now have Bill Purvis who takes care of all my tree and shrub needs. Bill is vigilant. He sees things before they could become an issue, so nothing ever gets to the point where we have to "fix" it. He's very thorough; I never feel like he's rushing through the job. I like his friendly, upbeat personality. Between Bill and Vince my arborist, I'm in great hands with Davey.

Davey tree pruned a couple trees and addressed a few branches that I wanted taken care of. They are knowledgeable, safe, and fair priced. Why would you not get an estimate from an expert?
