HVAC reviews in New Kensington, Pennsylvania

AC was tripping my breaker box and just seemed to me it wasn't pushing cold air out. Called my home warranty company HSA and they sent this company. Technician comes out. Looks at it and goes " yeap, it's running and there's some condensation on your line so you're fine" and he left. Didn't gauge nothing! Tested nothing! Took no measurements of any sort! He just left!!

Didn’t supply a filter for new furnace that they just installed probably because the gap they cut in to accept it was 7/8” too large, all jagged unfinished. All seams were duct taped due to large gaps up to an inch wide. Very poor fitted duct work and metal fabrication. Definitely wouldn’t recommend for an install.

My Furnace broke on 12/20/18 and Salego came out for service told me I need a new heat exchange and that my HW would call me that day.BTW they have called me the wrong name to many times for me to count I have asked for it to be corrected and told that it was and to this day still incorrect. I was left with absolutely no heat and I have kids. I called HW a few days later and they told me they were still awaiting the report from Salego. I called Salego few more days later to see if they could Submit the report I was told by the lady who answers the phone Christy that she doesnt know and will contact the tech and let me know. A few more days later Christy calls and tells me they ordered the wrong part and that they needed the serial number off the furnace...I asked where that would be she replied " I dunno I work in the office" I had to figure out how to tear apart my furnace to find and give and asked how much longer would it be without my heat she replied " I dunno" I asked for rough ETA she replies "I dunno I will call you" It took them from 12/20 to 1/3 to get repaired along with a nice hefty Labor charge that Christy told me was for Shipping and Warranty processing not labor...Imagine that Shipping for the wrong part that they ordered and then the right part. Christy also hung up on my HW company when they tried to call and get answers. I got my invoice with whom I also told the techs that again that my name is incorrect on the invoice (not even close)and still not corrected I have paid invoice with complete different name then mine..In a nut shell I do NOT recommend this company Rude, unprofessional Customer Service, orders incorrect parts, CANNOT get names correct I would recommend maybe Restano or Schultheis Brothers.

They were sent out through a home warranty company. They finally made it out a week and half later and said there needed to be stuff moved in the basement. So I reorganized the basement and when they came back while I was at work they refused the job because of a shelf I could have removed. So after 3 weeks in the heat of summer I’m still without AC. I wish they would have sent real men to my house.

Lady that answers the phone is very unprofessional and rude. Took them 7 days to get a part for my furnace and 3 days after that to install it. Let me remind you it's 20 degrees in Pittsburgh in December. When I called to check up on the progress the lady told me don't call me I'll call you. I will say the guy that came and did the work was on time and In-N-Out.. I highly suggest y'all subscribe to Amazon Prime and get rid of that secretary..

The service tech is very professional, and was very thorough. He also gave us very useful information about new heat pumps. When the time comes for us to need a new system we will definitely get it from Salego!!!

Awful experience. My furnace was not letting gas out of the gas valve.
He told me my gas pressure was too low and to call the gas company.
First off, the gas pressure to my house was 100% fine. Second, (i learned this later) that gas pressure does not open the valve, voltage from the IFC Board opens the gas valve.
So basically, he didn’t know what he was doing, so he blamed it on the gas company.
Only Pros:
They came out on time.
They came out the same day.
Not that any of this mattered because I still had no heat when he left. -
I was told by Salego service tech that my AC unit was leaking and low on freon and that I should not use it because I would risk my coil freezing up. Of course, I was not given the option of having the leak found and fixed and freon added but Instead I was offered a price on a new unit. After suffering through a couple of 95+ degree days with no air-conditioning I turned my AC on and the air felt plenty cold to me so I called in another HVAC company who confirmed that I was not low on freon at all. When I informed Salego of this I received no reply or apology or offer to make amends.

I highly recommend this company. They came out because my air conditioner was not working. I was worried it would take weeks to order a part if they needed it. They had a part and it was fixed easy!
Nice people to schedule with and great repair man. I hope nothing breaks for awhile, but I will definitely use them again! -
This company is a contractor through my home warranty company. I had placed a service call for my furnace. By the time the technician called me, it was days later & my furnace had already started working. I cancelled the work order & Salego Heating told the home warranty that they completed the job. I was charged a $100 deductible for a service that was never rendered. Complete fraud.

I’ve owned this house since 2007. Any time there has been an issue with my central air unit or furnace, I call Salego. Every single person that I’ve dealt with has been fantastic. They’re professional, knowledgeable, helpful, responsive, and just all around a wonderful company. I just had a new furnace put in by them and I couldn’t be happier. Kudos to Salego!

Terrible service. Unfortunately this was the company that my home warranty sent out to look at my furnace. There was a leak from a radiator and a squealing noise coming from our pump. The tech said that they would have to replace the valve for the radiator and in order to do that they needed to drain the whole system, so I plan accordingly and when they show up 16 days later, after 2 phone calls directly to them and one to my home warranty, they don't even replace the valve just tighten a bolt...which they could have done the first day they were here. Then they go to fix my pump problem and replace a part to fix the noise and the next day the noise is back coming from the pump again. So they failed to even fix anything and wasted my time and their own. I now have them on a refusal list from my home warranty and will no longer use them and suggest everyone else do the same.

I put a claim in through my home warranty to have my leaking boiler repaired. The guy that came out was very nice and told me to called and schedule a time to have it fixed. I called to make an appointment and the lady who answers the phone was beyond rude. She told me it would be an all day repair and I would need to be there the whole day. I scheduled it for a day I was off and when the day came no one showed up to my house untill 2pm, I had to call and check that someone was actually coming. The guy came and drained my boiler and left and said they would call me to schedule a time for him to come back because he was done at 3. Two weeks went by and no one ever called me. I finally called them only to talk to the rude women on the phone again who told me she had no idea what I was talking about, and that’s she’s have to get back to me. Completely unprofessional

Long story short...Was purchasing a home, the furnace needed to be replaced so the seller had Salego install a new furnace the week we closed. Less than a week later, the furnace stopped working...on a Sunday evening...in early January. I put in a service request to Salego. They called me back and I requested that they come out to look at the furnace, since it was just installed by them less than a week ago. It was freezing outside and they had just installed it so I figured they would come out right away, no questions asked. Salego refused to come out because "we needed to go through the home warranty company". I asked to have the manager call me, which he never did even in the days to follow. After several calls to the same person and bluntly asking him to please come out to look at the furnace because at that point we were worried about damage to the house, they still refused to come out. Absolutely ridiculous that they wouldn't come fix a furnace that they installed less than a week prior. Save yourself the hassle and avoid this company like the plague.

The company came to my home to assess the issue w my furnace. The person was professional and polite, however, he never turned my furnace back on. So, my house had no heat from 2pm on. I called them 3 times to come and fix the issue. I never got a call back nor did anyone come to my home. Poor customer service! Now I'm wondering if they will even fix the 1st problem. I ended up calling the gas company for emergency assistance.

Despite the number of lack luster reviews I chose Salego for the purchase and installation of a new oil furnace, central air conditioning and associated items. (Chimney Liner, Thermostat). The crew was professional, accommodating and personable. I secured (3) bids and all were within a $1000.00 of each other. Salego was the only one that offered within their original bid a matched set. Same brand furnace and AC. I am aware that this is not a requirement, but to me it makes sense if available.
The Tech's had extreme difficulty with the chimney liner due to angle issues near the bottom. They worked through them with very little complaints and completed the job while protecting the aesthetics.
Time will tell regarding the furnace and ac, it is September and "In between time" of utilization and dormancy.
One suggestion to Salego: Explaining that the job may not be completed in one day and that the Tech's may need to return the following day, is a great representation. But when the job was almost put on hold over the weekend and I reiterated the representation of the next day, you made it happen. Now, that is what will result in "GOOD REVIEWS". Leaving a job half finished and the client looking at the half finished job only will place you in the same category as every other unreliable contractor out there and that is not a good thing.
Contractors do not have good reputations and anything that you do that is a step above the others will glow in the dark!
Thank You for a job well done!
Update: 10/26/20 It has now been cold enough to run the new furnace on a continuing basis. Works like a champ! So much quieter than our old beast. I will stand by my 5 STAR review. -
My experience was excellent. These folks were very attentive and stayed on top of my repairs until complete. My first interaction was through AHS, Salego did what it was authorized to do - their hands were tied due to the warranty company. I contracted with them direct for another project and had great service and support. I would recommend them to anyone and I will use them again.

Terrible company, terrible service! Sent out to fix our broken furnace and had to order parts, said they'd call they didn't. When we called them, they had no idea who we were or what was going on. They keep saying they'll call us back, they don't... We are now 4 days without heat in the middle of January and doesn't look hopeful for the weekend. Avoid this company at all cost... Unfortunately it looks like this is who home warranty companies use, probably because they are inexpensive due to their lack of skills, professionalism and service.

Don't go there. I wouldn't recommend it. Research these things before you go.BIG PROBLEM

They were sent out through my home warranty. After reading reviews, I was nervous. They came when promised and had my air conditioner fixed in under a half hour. He had the part on his truck, so no need to order it. He was pleasant. Based on my experience, I would definitely recommend them.

They took a long time to even come see my furnace/AC, then they said the needed 2-3-days for parts to arrive. 10-days later, I called to ask for an update and I was told they were "too busy with other customers." Finally, they installed the parts while I was at work. I returned home, and the furnace/AC was not working. They said I must have broken it again (while I was at work?!). I demanded they come fix it that night or the next day because the temperate was in the 90's. They told me they had too many other customers, and lied that no one was working the next day. The finally agreed to come the next day and never showed up. They continued to lie until I finally looked at the furnace myself. It was wired completely incorrectly and there was a blown fuse. I got a fuse at the auto shop and read the furnace's manual - it took 5 minutes to fix the AC. Salego refused to return my money.
