Working in real estate, I deal with a lot of different companies for my clients, and our experience with our own home with McDermott truly stood out across the board - not just in superior quality of workmanship, but in responsiveness, communication, and understanding. Remediating new construction was something we didn't expect to deal with, but we feel we could not have been in better hands for the remediation than we were with McDermott.

McDermott Construction remediated the stucco on my Malvern home. They multiple wrapped and replaced it with Hardy Artesian and stone up the chimneys and around the house to match the front. They also changed all doors and windows. So it was a big job and they were extremely efficient, professional and most of all attentive to details of perfection. And this was done during COVID.

They also painted inside and left everything perfect when the job was done. It felt like I was working with a part of my family that cared which is rare in the business world! The owner Andy was on-site most of the time and just a pleasure to deal with as well as the other employees who are too numerous to name. In my opinion they are the best choice if one needs any or all of this this done!

I can't say enough great things about McDermott Construction, but I will try to tell it all here. We had our stucco removed, new stone and siding installed, mold removed from behind bathroom shower and laundry walls- then those rooms rebuilt and repainted and front porch rebuilt. It was so easy working with Andy McDermott and his brother, Tony. Right from the beginning, Andy set up a very informative planning meeting with my husband and me. He kept us informed of every step of the remediation process, if we had had questions or concerns, he responded and took action quickly. The workers were diligent, well-trained, non-stop and considerate. I was so impressed with their work ethic and their tolerance for extreme heat and cold. They did not "mess around," arriving punctually, working hard until their quick lunch time, then back to work until quitting time. I rarely saw any worker hanging around on the phone or stalling. AND, they always cleaned up after themselves. Unbelievable in this day and age! Our job required some outside contractors and experts who were also very competent. It was difficult living inside a "fishbowl" but the crew did their best to give us notifications and privacy. To top it off, the itemized punch list was completed, and they cleaned all of the windows of dust and dirt. We love our house again!

We had the pleasure of working with Andy during our whole house stucco remediation project. Throughout the entire project we found Andy's team to be very professional, prompt and on top of all the work. The on site manager, workers, supervisors and all team members would show up on time and work diligently with minimal disruption to our daily lives. They were very clean and did not leave a mess at the end of the day. The whole project took 3 - 4 months to complete and if we had to do another project we would pick McDermott construction anytime!

We chose McDermott for our large stucco remediation project. While this is a project that no one should have to endure, the team at McDermott were pros and helped us through it every step of the way. Andy, Samme, Roseanne and team were always available for questions and the entire crew treated our home as if it were their own. From following COVID protocols to making sure everything remained clean and usable, we can’t say enough positive things about the service provided. They really went the extra mile to ensure that this was as positive as an experience as possible. Thanks to the whole team for the extra love and care during this time.

Working with Andy McDermott and his crew and Samme was a great experience. Everyone on the job was respectful, cleaned up beautifully each day and couldn’t have done more to meet all our needs and answer any questions or concerns we may have had. They worked on our home for eleven weeks. In the end our remediation was beautifully done. We now have a brand new home!

I cannot offer enough positive feedback for my experience with McDermott Construction. I used McDermott for stucco remediation. From the estimate process through to well after completion, McDermott Construction was professional, prompt, courteous and, overall, just sincerely interested in making our experience as best as possible. Starting at the top, with Andy, through to the project managers and the hardworking construction team, everyone with McDermott brought this same attitude and commitment to the job.

A few personal experiences that really made McDermott Construction shine to me:

1. Professional: They were very interested in making sure the construction site was safe and secure, including the location of materials, safe distance spaces and the like. This project also occurred in the early stages of COVID and the whole team took serious precautions the company had put in place. This really made me and my family feel very comfortable.

2. Responsive & Customer Focused: I had two minor but time-sensitive issues arise with my house, one was during construction, one was well after construction. Neither were related to the remediation directly. Both times I reached out to Andy merely to see if he had a suggestion on my next step, especially because I didn’t want to complicate the remediation work. Not only was Andy very responsive to me, he and his team came out to help when (frankly) they didn’t need to. This kindness will always last with me and will always show the true character of the owner and his company!!

3. Dedicated craftsmanship: Andy’s construction team was full of hard workers who made sure they produced great work product and maintained a clean and safe construction site. My remediation finished just days before Christmas- and the team really pressed hard in December in order for us to have a completed property by the holiday. I remember on the last day - maybe a day or two before Christmas and as the scaffolding was coming down - one of the foremans asked if he could take a photo of a nondescript side of my house so that he could show his young kids the work he and his team accomplished. That meant something to me. To me, it showed a real sense of pride in the hard work this young man and his team put in to fixing the house for me and my family.

I hope all of these stories of my experience show the integrity of Andy and McDermott Construction. Stuff can come up in any type of home improvement project. That’s why, for me, trust in the contractor is so important before I start any project. From my experiences with Andy and his team, I know that if the unavoidable were to ever come up, McDermott will approach the issue with honesty and a desire to do what is best for my project and my family.
