The McFarland Landscapers Company met every commitment to me from the initial estimate to completion on the job. The work was professionally completed. One would never know the trees waste was ever on the lawn or pavement. The area was clean. I had a question about a stump that had intertwined with my fence and a full explanation was provided with recommendations for the next pruning of two trees. The cost of the work was great. I highly recommend this company to take care of tree work. I probably would say the same about lawn care it they did that work. I can’t say enough about patience either. The company has a compassionate manager. Dr. Logan.

I would highly recommend Macfarland Tree and Landscape Services for all your tree needs. Nick is the arborist that gave us an estimate. He was timely in providing the estimate on the spot and was very reasonable. He outlined the work that would be completed. After the deposit was made, the work was completed within the week in one day for 3 trees that needed lot of pruning. Eric did the work with his work partner and they ensured we were satisfied with the work in real time. They cleaned up the area and left the three trees in great looking pruned state. Multiple neighbors complimented the work as well. Highly recommended!

Had an appointment. I called the office 5 minutes before the appointment to ensure that person I was meeting with would be on time or if they would be delayed. I was then told that he should be there soon and they would call him so he could call me directly. Appointment time came and went. I waited 30 minutes in my car and no one showed up. No one ever called me back. Next morning I called the same office to get an explanation. Perhaps they came later? Maybe they did the survey without me and had a quote? Nope. I was put on hold for several minutes and I just gave up. Granted I only talked to the person that answers phones and not the workers in the field. So I don’t know internally what is/was the issue.

I know I didn’t feel valued as a potential customer and I gave them or her, the office worker, a chance to get it together.

I’m a project manager that deals with vendors all the time. This interaction was disappointing. Hopefully management sees this and at least apologizes.

Nick and his team are great. We had consistent flooding in our basement after a stone patio was put in, even after having drains replaced, lines cleared, etc. Nick drew up a plan to add drainage off the patio, drew it up, and had it installed in two days. The team was great - on time, polite, and professional. Nick followed up regularly when it rained to make sure everything was good - we haven’t had a drop in the basement since. Highly, highly recommend.

The McFarland team was outstanding with the work provided across the board. Nick came out on a Monday for an estimate and his team was at my house in two days to do the work. I live in Fairmount and had a few branches trimmed down from a big tree in another yard. I also had landscaping done in my small backyard. Two different McFarland teams came out and were top notch. I also might add it was the week of the hurricane rains and flooding that came through Philly. The McFarland team did not miss a beat and was a well oiled machine. I can not begin to express how great my yard looks now as well as seeing the the Philly skyline much better. I called a few other landscape companies as well to get some quotes and the experience was miserable and a waste of time. If you are looking for a reasonable and fair quote for work done in a timely manner look no further than the McFarland team. Outstanding!

I had damage due to a large felled tree from a recent storm. The situation was complicated by fallen limbs pressing against several other healthy trees and my neighbor's fence. The felled tree also brought down masses of invasive vines which dropped like large, heavy bushes all over the yard. Despite a difficult job, my experience with McFarland was excellent. A prompt quote, competitive price, stellar customer service, a job completed quickly, safely and exactly as described. Clean up was meticulous and immaculate. Couldn't have asked for anything more! . The crew that performed the labor were first-rate. They carried out physically dangerous and difficult work with great efficiency, skill and professionalism. They were meticulous and stressed safety as a priority during the process and clean up. I highly recommend McFarland; a friendly, reliable, knowledgeable and responsive service.

Nick and his team did an amazing job. They were always punctual, responsive and neat. I didn’t have to do any cleaning up after the job was completed and Nick was flexible and easy to work with during the design and quoting process. We changed numerous things and it was never an issue. I would recommend Mcfarland to any of my neighbors and friends that are looking for a reliable landscaper to work with long term.

McFarland was a great find for us. We have a lot of house with a lot of yard that had some real gaps. Peter was incredibly quick to respond, envision and counsel. Within a day we had a plan, and his crew showed up the following week - every day, on time, constantly working - with great attention to detail. Incredibly polite, friendly and knowledgeable (and also great with our dogs!). They came in under budget and beyond service. Our needs ranged from horticultural design to installation to various hard scape repairs. Every completed component exceeded our expectations. Highly recommend and will continue to work with them as our design needs grow and evolve with their help. I should add that this all took place within the eye of the Pandemic. Peter not only met our needs - and safely - but also kept his crew working and safe as well.

I used McFarland for two jobs: to repair our sidewalk, which had been disrupted by tree roots; and to re-attach a large ivy vine that blown off our garden wall. In both cases they did a very thorough and professional job for a fair price. I'm delighted with the results and found Nick and the team very pleasant to work with. Definitely a five star rating.

We hired McFarland Landscape for a major project at our bed and breakfast. We had a short timeline due to a scheduled wedding in April. We are delighted with the results. McFarland installed about 400 square feet of brick to expand our outdoor dining and created a beautiful garden path and firepit area. Nick added additional team members to accommodate our tight schedule and completed the project in time. He even spruced up the rest of the property with new mulch and weeding so that our property was picture perfect for the event. Neighbors are raving and everyone walking by is stopping to appreciate the lovely gardens and patio. We are thrilled with the finished project and will certainly higher this company again.

Nick and McFarland were great! Beautiful workmanship. They found hard-to-find, large bluestone slabs that matched well with our sidewalk. They expanded and dramatically improved our tree pit. They fixed our serious sidewalk safety hazard from tree roots uplifting sidewalk. Maybe most important, Nick was easy to work with —he made a challenging sidewalk issue easy to deal with.

McFarland Tree Service did some major tree work for us a few years back. We chose them after getting a few quotes and consulting with other companies b/c Peter McFarland was very knowledgeable and interested in preserving the character of our beautiful trees just like we were. He continues to be a great source of support when in comes to hardscaping and landscaping. They were competitive on price, respectful, courteous and on time. I continue to recommend them to others.

I had McFarland come out to replace a flower bed that had mulch and fountain grass. They showed up on the day as promised and did the job quickly and professionally!

Great firm with super professional, accommodating, and personable crews. We needed them to trim back overflowing shrubs/plantings and to climb a very old elm tree with overgrown branches. All of these were blocking sun in our garden. The before and after were at a great price and their work was terrific. Not only that, they are also great communicators, and they did a solid job of cleaning-up. They were careful in our home, and we would definitely hire them again. McFarland is a family business, and it shows in how they treat their clients. Recommended.

I recently used McFarland to have some branches that were hitting my house removed and also to get my property cleaned and bushes trimmed. Greg arrived on time and he knew his stuff! He took the time to answer all my questions and when his guys showed up to do the work they did a solid job! Greg returned to make sure I was happy with the work. I had the wonderful experience of using McFarland-Shechtman Tree Service on June 18, 2024. Mr. Casey came to my home with the two worker's and introduced them to me so I would be aware of the person's working in my yard. I had a 25-30 foot tree to be trimmed. The workers were extremely careful not to damage any of their surroundings on my property. The tree was trimmed so perfectly that it appeared to be a beautiful magazine display. They cleaned my property as if it was a personal assignment. They spoke respectful/friendly/knowledgeable. This company is definitely a 5 star when it comes to picture perfect work and affordable pricing. I would recommend them to the White House in Washington. If you want to go far with your tree service please use McFarland for all of your landscaping services

Nick is so responsive and really talks with you about the best tree for your space. From our first conversation to removal of our old tree and sourcing and planting of a new tree took less than a week. We couldn’t be happier with the new tree. Beautiful and healthy to provide us shade for years to come.

McFarland has been caring for the trees and shrubs at our home for 30 years. We value their advice, their preventive efforts, and the thoughtful and effective pruning work they do periodically. Recently, they provided some much-needed help for volunteers who needed to refurbish a planting bed in our neighborhood park, McMichael Park. They assessed our specific needs and skillfully set up our volunteers to make a visible difference.

Nick and his team were ultra-fast and responsive. They put in a beautiful cedar fence, ground down a stump and re-laid chip stones in our backyard after removing a dying tree a couple of years ago. We are very happy with the work and will co to use to use their services for all our tree maintenance and landscaping needs.
