My generator failed to come on when power went out on Thursday, June 19th. I did not discover this until I returned home at around 10p.m. I called and the "on call operator". She e-mailed back quickly and communicated the call immediately to a service person. Aaron arrived first thing Friday morning and assessed the problem. He wasn't sure what the time frame for the repair would be, but he locked the part and made the repair by 4 in the afternoon.
I have come to take great comfort in knowing that the generator will come on in these emergencies. The problem was an infestation of ants that had short circuited the electric panel in the generator. I am now aware that this is an issue and will keep an eye on things in the future. (though you should advise customers to be aware of this and "lift the lid" from time to time. And to make sure the weekly test has been success.
