SGM Tree, LLC

We’ve used SGM twice, and unfortunately our second experience was extremely disappointing.

The first time, they flipped a machine in our yard, leaving fuel, holes, and damage—but we gave them the benefit of the doubt and assumed it was just a bad day.

We hired them again to remove two large trees. From the start, communication was poor. We were even told to “remind them repeatedly” if we didn’t hear back, which felt unprofessional, but we moved forward since the actual tree removal had gone well the first time.

When they arrived, Jordan repeatedly told us he had underquoted and that the trees were much larger than he remembered. They removed one tree but had to return a second day for the other. They left trucks and equipment overnight, which we were fine with.

The next day, I heard yelling and looked outside to see the climber arguing with employees. He then came down from the tree and left the job entirely. Jordan told us the climber wanted more money and quit. We were told they would clean up what had been done and return with a new climber or a crane.

We paid for the first tree and left for the day. When we returned, the yard was a mess, but we assumed they would finish when they came back.

Two weeks passed with no communication. Then Jordan texted saying “his tail is between his legs” and that he would not be using a crane and does not have a climber to complete the job.

Meanwhile, they continue posting new jobs on social media but have not returned to finish ours.

We are now left with:
• Large holes throughout our yard from heavy logs being dropped instead of properly lowered
• Branches and large wood debris covering the property
• A creek filled with logs that has begun to overflow
• A yard that is unsafe for our young son

To try to make the job easier for them, we even removed part of our fence to reduce how far they had to walk equipment. Unfortunately, they did not use any ground protection boards, and the tire tracks through that area are now so deep they’ve turned into literal pools of water.

We are also now scrambling to find another company with availability to finish this job, as this work was supposed to be completed prior to our upcoming pool installation.

We have spent our own time trying to clean up a job we paid professionals to complete.

This experience showed a serious lack of professionalism, communication, and accountability. It’s incredibly disappointing, especially since we previously referred this company to others.

We can no longer recommend SGM and would strongly caution others.

Jordan and his partner showed up on time, were super professional and did amazing work. One of our trees had a nest with two baby birds and they took their time and relocated the nest to another tree.

We had 5 trees taken down and it was a great decision.

We will definitely be using their services again. Highly recommend.

These guys were great. They did exactly what we wanted and took to time to make sure we were happy with their work as they did the job.
