I was referred to this company by Veterans Plumbing since the owner retired. From the beginning it’s been a nightmare and I will not be using them again! I originally called to schedule an appointment to have my sewer line hydro flushed just to prevent any buildup. I was giving a scheduled date, and technician that would come. I even received an Email confirmation of the date, time, and technician. On the scheduled date after no one showed up I called the company to see why my appointment wasn’t kept. I was told 1. There was no appointment showing for me, 2. The hydro jet was in the shop, and 3. They had a new computer system installed and it wasn’t saving appointments, etc. I was then given a new appointment date. Based on my past experience with this company I called to confirm the new appointment on the scheduled day. I was told I didn’t have an appointment for that day, because the Hydro jet wasn’t even being picked up until that evening. However I was scheduled for two days later and at the end of the day versus the beginning. I told the representative how upsetting this whole thing has been since no one from the company has bothered to call me, but either making schedules they don’t keep, or schedule without notifying me. So the representative said she would speak with her manager to see if they could get an earlier appointment for me. She called me back later on and said she was only able to get me a morning appointment, but still for two days out because the next day was fully booked. So now today was the day for the appointment, and the two technicians did in fact show up. Unfortunately, they couldn’t get the camera through the sewer line, and couldn’t do the Hydro jet! Their manager told them to snake the sewer to see what the problem was. They came up with what appeared to be wipes, THAT I ASSURED THEM I ABSOLUTELY DO NOT USE NOR ANYONE ELSE IN MY HOUSEHOLD (there’s only two of us). I asked how that and roots could be back in my line when last August when I actually did have a back-up they cut roots, and was able to Hydro jet the line and told me it was clear (that’s when the company the same employee worked for was Veterans Plumbing). However, no explanation could be provided except there were wipes in the sewer pipe. Now comes the final insult: When I originally scheduled the appointment I was told the cost would be $250.00 for the first hour and $50.00 every 15 minutes there after. What the technician told me was the real charge is: $215.00 per person and the Hydro jet requires 2, plus the Hydro Jet is $300.00, and the snake is $100.00!!!!!! So needless to say I was extremely angry since that wasn’t anywhere even close to what I was told! The technician understood my frustration when I told him everything I’ve had to deal with since the beginning and how I was very disappointed with the whole thing. He didn’t charge me for the Hydro Jet (especially since they couldn’t use it) and came up with a more reasonable price. I told him flat out I will never use his company again. Customer’s need to be told specifically what a job will cost so they can make an informed decision if they still want to schedule it, AND customer’s shouldn’t have to be the one constantly following up to confirm appointments etc. As I’ve stated at the beginning and throughout this review, Ground Up will not be a company I will ever use again!
