My toilet backed up fecal water into my bathroom tub. I called & talk to Jake Good to make sure they can actually do something emergently to be worth the $199 off hour service charge and I told them specifically that I suspect the cause to be a frozen pipe. He said it's probably just clogged. He spent 25 min to look at my tub (a quarter filled with fecal water), go to the garage to look at the pipe that had a sheet of ice nearby (the ice melted because I had moved 2 heaters into the garage the day before), unscrew the pipe's cap to thread up a camera, and said the pipe is blocked by ice. For him to confirm that my pipe is frozen and to recommend that I buy a torpedo heater to accelerate the thawing process would have cost me $400?
1 star for ease of appointment
1 star for respecting my home by putting on shoes covering.
1 star for taking $100 off of the camera cost.
So I paid $300 to still have a tub of fecal water despite talking to the plumber 1st to make sure he understand that I thought the cause was a frozen pipe. Jake should have said during the call that nothing can be done if the pipe is frozen and to give it more time to thaw. -
