We had a shorted outlet that needed to be repaired. Our electrician was professional, and thorough. He was able to give some expert advice on other electrical projects we had wanted to do and was able to give us some rough estimates of how much the work would be. I would definitely work with them again.

Tech did excellent job, was on time, answered all my questions and was able to determine what was causing the problem.

Northern Electrical has been our go-to electrician for tasks over the last few years. Our most recent experience included new installation of recessed lighting. They were able to fit us in quickly, and the workers were great at keeping us updated as the work progressed. Highly recommend!

I have found my goto electricians for our home. Chris was extremely knowledgeable and accommodating to all of our electrical needs. He was thorough in double testing all of his work. We had some tricky issues and he methodically worked through all of the challenges we threw at him.

My call to them was quickly responded to and I was offered appointment times the following day. Great service and everyone was really friendly.

Norther Electrical installed an outdoor receptacle and interlock switch for my generator to feed my panel during a power outage. They did a great job, including running wire behind a wall and replacing drywall they needed to cut away. They also found a couple of unrelated electrical problems that they repaired while they were there. The work was not cheap, but it was done well, professionally and quickly.

I recently had Northern put in a sub panel in the garage for extra outlets and preparing for some larger woodworking equipment. Rich, Dave, and Chris were great with everything from the planning and estimate to the install. They were able to accommodate everything we needed and also help us prepare for the future with extra power outside. We'll definitely be calling them for our electrical needs in the future!

I'm updating my review after a recent experience. We had Northern Electrical look at our switch panel as part of wiring in a new oven. They informed us that the main breaker was failing because it was leaking oil and needed to be replaced. They also installed a new breaker to upgrade the oven circuit.

We just had a state-certified inspector and Penn Power come out and when they looked at the panel they noticed that the breaker that had been installed was not the same brand as the panel, which is against code and something that apparently is commonly known and should never be done. We also have questions whether our main breaker should have been replaced at all, as the inspector said that it shouldn't have any oil in it ever. The oil substance on top was from wires that sometimes do contain oil.

In addition, when they replaced the main breaker Northern Electrical never contacted Penn Power at all when they broke into the box, and we got a visit from the power company shortly thereafter.

After this experience I feel that Northern Electrical took unsafe liberties with our panel and does not have the expertise that I want in my electrician.

I've had two recent calls for Northern Electrical, and both were high quality, professional visits. Our electrician for each visit was Kris. For the first visit, Kris replaced several GFI outlets that had gone bad. As it was a new home, he also took the time to make sure our other GFI outlets were working and showed us which outlets were tied together on each GFI circuit.

For second visit, Kris came out to troubleshoot a light fixture that had gone bad. He thoroughly diagnosed the issue and found a loose connection in a nearby wall outlet. Then, since he was available, he offered to install a replacement fixture that we had already purchased. In about 10 minutes he had replaced the fixture.

While I think the prices are a bit on the high side, they are fair, honest, competent, and thorough, which is more than worth it.

Chris and Dave are terrific. We've contracted Northern Electrical a couple of times and they're responsive, knowledgeable and professional. We look forward to having them back for additional work as we plan home improvements over the next several months. What a wonderful team! We highly recommend this company.

This is the best electrical company we have ever used by far. I needed to have outdoor electrical outlets installed and the work needed to be completed in a short time frame due to the project timeline. The company was always very quick to respond to emails and phone calls and they always showed up on time, were extremely nice and professional, and the estimate matched the final bill. We are extremely pleased and because of their professionalism and quality of work my project will be able to proceed as planned. I won’t be calling any other electricians in the future.

I contacted Northern Electrical to install three fixtures. Dave did the job quickly and efficiently. He was friendly and informative concerning my many questions as a person with limited background in this field. Before leaving, he made sure I understood how to maintain the new equipment properly. I am impressed with the quality and service of this company.

I contracted with Northern Electric to assist in the installation of a ceiling mounted forced air heater. The electrician was professional and courteous. He walked through the project, taking time to understand the job and discuss its progress to date, and presented several reasonable options. Never once did I feel as though I was being talked down to or ever sense that I was being taken advantage of. Nor did I ever believe that he was under some time limit in which to complete the job and therefore compromise quality. At the completion of the job he explained the finished product and answered any additional questions I had. The costs for the service and quality were reasonable and expected. I would not hesitate to use this company for future work.

Northern Electrical performed three upgrades to our electrical set up in our home, and I couldn’t be happier about the work done by Chris and Dave. They installed a 10 circuit, manual throw generator transfer switch, an electric car charger circuit and outlet, and they also redid the wiring to our bathroom to bring it up to modern code standards. The finished product is neat, tight, polished, and honestly looks better than any other electrical work that was here when we bought our house.

Their people worked with us to both hear out what we wanted done, and then provide constructive guidance on how to adjust our plan so as to best meet what we described our goals to be. This was particularly useful with the generator transfer switch / panel, because we did not fully appreciate the important details with such a piece of equipment prior to Northern talking to us about what all goes into making them work properly. We adjusted our project plan based on their advice and are very happy with the result! And better still at no point did I feel like they were trying to just ring more money out of us.

We could not be happier with the service we received from Northern Electrical, LLC. From my initial phone inquiry, I was able to communicate our needs to Jill, the Office Manger. She was so patient and helpful. The technicians, Kris and Dave, who installed both a bedroom and bathroom fan were professional, friendly, knowledgeable and meticulous with their work. We were quite impressed and would highly recommend them!

I had a dusk to dawn light fixture installed. Motion light installed. Door bell that was non-functioning for about 12yrs., and a lamp light on the side of house non-functioning for about 22 yrs., repaired & the electrical wires were repaired in the fixture. Everything was done to prefection & Dave (electrician) was very professional, knowledgeable, and he explained what he was about to do & wanted to make sure i was pleased. I felt safe & secure in his presence and that means a lot. I knew he took great pride in his work & being a professional the work was done right & i can count on that for many years to come. So, the price you pay is worth every penny. I will be calling this spring for ceiling fan & electrical sockets to be checked out. I am beyond pleased ~ just wish i would have done this years ago. Great electrician(s), but expensive with confusing invoicing/pricing policy.

I had no problems with the electrician who came to the house - he was a great guy, trustworthy, and competent. If I could call him back, I would. But I won't use Northern Electrical for future work.

My issue is with the charges on my invoice and my final bill. I should have asked more questions when I requested the initial estimate. The problem I have with Northern Electrical is that they don't itemize the invoices, so I don't really know what I paid for. As a consumer, I don't like the lack of transparency and feel like they charge whatever they want. I compare it to receiving a medical bill. Their invoice stated the quantities of items used for job charges - it doesn't state the individuals costs for anything. It doesn't state the labor costs or how much they charge for wiring or outlets, etc. At the bottom is what you owe!

My main frustration centers on the fact I received an initial quote of $844 to relocate the wiring in a wall that we are having a window installed, repairing 2 outlets in the garage, and diagnosing/fixing an attic exhaust fan. I was well aware that the estimate could change. When the electrician showed up to the house and removed the drywall for the window, it was discovered that there were no additional wires that need removed. Great news! He kindly replaced the face plate and 2 outlets along the wall so that they would match the white ones throughout the main floor - it took less than 1 hour and something that I could have done myself. On to the next project in the garage, it was a simple GFCI that tripped (we are new to the house and the GFCI was located outside). Great news again! So far, so good. On to the last project in the attic, standard repair for attic motor and switch. All done! Then, I received my final bill for $1400. How? The first 2 projects went better than expected! The 3rd project involved stock items on the truck! The electrician was super polite and encouraged me to call the billing department, which I did. They knocked off $300 from the final bill due to "invoicing errors" and kindly reminded me they are a 5 star company. I believe a legit 5 star company should have a more transparent pricing policy.

Over the Easter weekend my home had experienced a major power surge. It rendered the house without electricity. After leaving many messages on answering machines, Rich of Northern Electric was the only one who responded. He quickly identified the issue and advised me what to do. He came to my house promptly on Monday morning with all the equipment necessary to do the job and his crew of Kris and Dave where very competent and professional. By late afternoon that same day my electricity had been restored and my house was safer than it was before. Thanks again!
