My husband and I went to Home Depot to make an appointment to have a garage door opener installed. They outsourced it to a subcontractor. The guy who showed up (Justin Snyder of Snyder Installations) was very rude and unprofessional. He didn’t call to let us know when he’d be here, as most people do out of courtesy. When he did show up, he ignored me when I greeted him. He did not acknowledge my presence or even look in my direction as he started pulling on the garage door and looking around. I found this to be rude and disrespectful.

When he finally did speak, he gave a list of problems (which was fine) but his explanations of the problems didn’t make sense (e.g., he was talking about cables overlapping when there was only one cable). He said he was was unable to do the work because our door was misaligned. He complained about the possibility of having to come back “500 times” to do our work (apparently a far trip for him). After my husband showed up, he was somewhat respectful to him but (again) ignored me and my questions, focusing entirely on my husband.

Later, I phoned the company to voice my concerns about the encounter. When he answered, he was even more rude than before and called me “petty” for calling out his unprofessional behavior. He did not apologize for anything, said “he didn’t have time for this”, and angrily told me that he wouldn’t be doing the work for us. He also informed Home Depot (who contracted out to him) that he refused to do any work for us. He blocked me and my husband on from his company Facebook page so I am unable to review on him on the company site. I’ve never encountered some as rude and unprofessional.

Home Depot called and (without apologies) told us that they were unable to schedule another company to do the work for us, leaving us high and dry.

I have been staying close to this west Mefflin home depot since 15 years and always been loyal but after multiple bad experiences I now have lost my interest in this store. I had a really bad experience when I bought a Samsung refrigerator, I had to wait for it long time and it arrived damaged TWICE seriously. and I had to send it back. And now I ordered a door in store one week back and waiting for it to arrive so I can complete my project at home. I received a call and was told politely offcourse, that that product doesn't exist and will refund my money back. Seriously after a weeks of waiting. didn't they know that when I ordered that one week back.

My hot water tank started to leak on Wed, 12/30. I read Home Depot's ad that stated if you call before noon your new hot water will be installed the same day. "same day installation" ad plastered everywhere. I was there at 9:30 in the morning bought a new hot water tank, set up an appointment for Mitchell Plumbing to come out for same day service. I even spoke to Mitchell Plumbing myself and they said they would be out between 12:00 and 4:00. I waited the entire day and no one showed up or even called me. When I called Mitchell Plumbing at 4 they said they had no record of my appointment but after checking further they said they found it but was scheduled for Sat. Wed to Sat is NOT same day installation.
Home Depot advertises same day installation but DOES NOT honor their ad. They just left me stuck with a leaky hot water tank and no hot water for two more days.
I will never buy from them again.

Hot water tank went out. Immediately looked online, filled out a form on The Home Depot’s website. Within an hour or two I got a call from Mitchell’s plumbing for details. I provided them, braced myself for the cost, and was given some options for same day installation and haul away over the phone. Pulled the trigger on it through my HD credit card, Mitchell was there within 4-5 hours and it was done. 0% financing. Only thing that could’ve been smoother was the paperwork since their tablet couldn’t get an internet signal. Overall this was quite painless. Satisfied. Hope it lasts.

They installed a new furnace and ac unit in a timely manner and I was very happy with the level of care they took with our families needs, including our fur baby!

I’ve used Low Cost HVAC for years. The team is fantastic! They take pride in their work, are professionals, and don’t leave a mess. I’ve used them previously for maintenance, but had them install a furnace and A/C recently. Couldn’t be happier with the quality job they did.

After being charged $1800 for labor and dragged around for 13 days with no heat by another company, we called Low Cost Heating & Air in West Mifflin for a second opinion. They had installed the 8 year old furnace for a relative, and Keith came within 30 minutes to take a look at it.

Rather than replacing a part and hitting us for a day or two of labor as the *other company* wanted to do, Keith appraised the problem honestly and gave the burners and other parts a through cleaning with nitrogen and chemical cleaner. Problem fixed in less than an hour, for a fraction of what we were being charged by the big company with the TV commercials. And we saved $1500!

I’ll never call another HVAC company but Low Cost Heating & Air.

These guys are the best. They installed my furnace back in 2018 and just replaced my AC this year. They work fast and are friendly, fast and professional with reasonable prices. When my furnace went out in February of 2018 we called and they showed up within 2 hours of the call with space heaters in hand, Had my furnace in within a day. They show up when they say they will and do what they say they will. Even saved me money when they fixed an electrical problem I wasn't even aware of at no extra charge. Honest fair and good people, I have recommended them to family and friends and would recommend them to anyone. Great company run by good folks.

Just like the Christmas story father I fought over the years to keep my 34 year old furnace going.

I decided to go the new furnace route upon extensive research.
To my surprise because I had no heat in the coldest week of January 2026
The super hero team of Keith Dawn and Kurt rearranged their schedule and arrived the next day. Installed my new furnace explaining everything thru out the process.
Left me as tho I had known them for years.
Prompt courteous informative and at a great cost for much needed service.
And even called me that night and next day to make sure new furnace was fine.
