Restano Heating, Cooling & Plumbing

I have a Mitsubishi mini split with 3 heads. One of the heads stopped working in May (when it's still mostly cool outside, but the temperature gets a little warmer every day). I searched for a repair company with experience with this type unit. I found a company called "412 Ductless". Their website specifically shows Mitsubishi as a unit they repair. I called and scheduled an appointment. A few minutes later I received a confirmation email from "Restano Heating and Cooloing". I was confused. I called 412 Ductless again (they answer the phone saying 412 Ductless), and they told me they are really Restano. I told the person answering the phone that I called 412 Ductless because of the website description stating they have experience with Mitsubish Mini splits. She told me not to worry, they purchased 412 Ductless and they have the experience to repair my unit. I agreed and I kept the appointment. The tech came out and diagnoised a faulty communication board. $687.00 to repair (includes part and labor). I agreed and they ordered the part. A couple weeks later, the part comes in. I scheduled the repair. The original tech came out and he installed the board. The repair didn't work. He said it didn't work because it was the wrong board... He said it needed a power board, not a communication board. He said the power board was not in stock so it had to be ordered. So he leaves. A week later, the board came in. I scheduled the repair for the following day, June 26th. It is now late June and its getting hotter outside. A different tech came out this time. He installed the power board... but It didn't work. He continued trouble shooting and determined it may be a control valve in the outside unit. He said he needed to call Mitsubishi and discuss with them. He said he would be back on Monday June 29th... two days away from a forecasted VERY hot (heat dome) with temperatures approaching 99 deg! As he was leaving, he asked for payment for the board he installed! WHAT? I told him no. He called his boss. When he got off the phone he said I would not be charged at this time.

Today is Monday. The tech did not come back as he said he would, instead, he called. He said mitsubishi confirmed his diagnosis. He said the part cost was covered by Mitsubishi warranty but labor would cost $1000. I called Restano to speak with management about the guarantee on their website "Upfront Pricing -The quote you get upfront is the price you’ll be paying - NO SURPRISES!". I spoke with someone and I explained the situation. He put me on hold. When he came back he told me he spoke to management and they would call be back in 24-48 hours! I asked if there was anyway I could speak to someone now. I elaborated more and explained this issue had been going on for well over a month and that extreme heat is on the way. I told him I originally called because I wanted a company with experience with Mitsubishi mini splits and I ended up with technicians who apparently know nothing about them. His response... Sorry. Nothing I can do.

So, now I wait!

BE WARNED: If you are reading this review you likely have an issue you need repaired sooner than later. This could be you! Don't fall for their advertising. Don't hire this company! They are to large to care about their customers. I will update this review when/if my issue is resolved.
