George and his crew installed a 125 foot French drain system in my backyard earlier this year. And right away there was a great difference in how quickly the yard dried out after each rainfall. But on 1 September the remnants of Hurricane Ida arrived here in Bucks County and the system got quite the stress test! The system finally did get overwhelmed somewhat by the amount of rain that fell. But that didn't happen until late in the storm. Something like over 8 inches came down in the area but by the next day the yard was dry and I was actually able to cut the grass without feeling like I was walking on swampland! The first pics were taken during the storm late on Wed evening and the others are from Thursday morning.

By the way, one of the videos on their FB page is from the day they installed the system!

We give Fox Landscape Designs our highest possible recommendation. George Fox is a water management genius, and his crew are true masters of hardscaping craftsmanship. We hired George and his crew in August to address flooding we were getting through a basement window during a heavy rain, and as part of the remediation they also installed a small walkway. That remediation withstood the even more massive rains during Hurricane Ida flawlessly - not a drop along the side they fixed. As a result of their phenomenal job, we hired them again in December for a larger regrading project along a different side of the house (the front). After that project completion, our basement finally smells bone dry without a trace of musty dampness. In both projects, George and his crew were supremely professional and executed the work perfectly, and on schedule. Our new hardscaping looks stunning. George has well deserved pride in his expertise, and you will be hard pressed to find any company that can beat his craftsmanship warranty. We would 1000% hire George and his crew again if we need any further work. Fox Landscape Designs is worth their weight in gold.

1. George is a water management genius:
We bought our house in May, and in July we were hit with a surprise waterfall down our basement window during a heavy rain (picture attached). We consulted with different yard drainage companies and each commented that I am downhill from my neighbor on that side and water runs at my house. George was the ONLY one that accurately highlighted that the concrete around that window was an issue and had to go (in addition to re-grading and creating a swale). We are SO GLAD we listened to George, because he was dead on. The gravel under the concrete was pitching towards the house, and we even discovered holes that had been punched into my cinder block to have water flow INTO my home's interior french drain. George and his crew handled all these surprises in stride, patched the holes, regraded my land. Zero issues since then, and my sump pump that used to work super hard during any rain now barely runs. I stress, of all those I consulted - only George said the concrete was an issue. Everyone else said to keep it. Had we not listened to George, we would still have a hole in our cinder block and an over working sump pump with water running under the concrete at my house.

2. George, Jake, and his crew are true masters of their craft:
George's crew knows exactly how to re-grade the land so water flows where it needs to go. With hardscaping, they not only lay down a beautiful hardscaped surface but pay attention to the details on how that surface is pitched so that water along that surface runs where it needs to go too. In the case of my walkways, there is a very subtle pitch directing the water away from my house. An untrained eye would not see it, but these masters know how to do it and then show it. George also made great suggestions for my walkway, pointing out I may want to trim the front with darker pavers and the result is stunning. As part of re-grading the front they had to take out temporarily my bushes/plants. Jake made amazing suggestions on how to replant them in different spots at the end of the job such that my front looks even better than ever.

3. George really cares about his clients, and is full of integrity and kindness:
When I asked George to fix my waterfall side, he was booked through the end of August. I had a family vacation planned in early August and I was literally having panic over leaving the house empty at risk of flooding with this water issue unresolved. George saw that, took compassion, and worked over time on some jobs to squeeze in this work before my vacation (which I was even debating to cancel). Both George and Jake had infinite patience with all my questions, and explained all the work they were doing in detail.

George and his guys did a great job removing a lot of old trees shrubs and plants. They also cleaned up the landscape and planted trees shrubs and plants. George and the guys had great suggestions and everything turned out great.

I highly highly recommend Fox Landscape Designs for any outdoor projects you may be thinking about completing. George Fox and his team do absolutely meticulous work and could not be happier with the results. We hired George and his team back in July to build us a single level patio with an outdoor kitchen and new landscape around. After looking at our existing patio and the way our backyard sloped, he suggested bring the level of the new patio up along with regrading the yard to allow water to flow freely around our home rather than directly at our home as we had issues in the past with our old patio pooling up with water. I have added a bunch of pictures throughout the process to show the precise attention to detail. One thing to note is George communicates daily through the entire process (this was a 2 week process for us). He provided updates each day of what was going to be done and how it was going to be accomplished. We told George our budget and he delivered to that number and went above and beyond. George truly cares about taking care of his customers and it shows in his work.
The Lynx grill we ordered along with the trash/recycle bin took longer than expected to receive. George and his staff remained in contact with us weeks after his build was completed to install the final touches. When the items came in George's team was out the next day to install.

A huge shoutout to Jake, one of George's most seasoned guys on the crew for his phenomenal work. Jake is an absolute mastermind with a saw. The precision cuts needed to be made for the design in our patio are extremely precise. He also was a part of the final touches to fully complete the project.

Fox landscaping exceeded my expectations! I called in a panic, our basement window well was filling up every-time we had heavy rain. I was in constant fear our basement would flood if we didn’t regrade our yard. I called Fox landscaping after I searched, regrading professional near the Doylestown area.
I spoke to Ashley and she was extremely professional and timely.
George came out to our home, a day later. He gave us a reasonable quote for the job. We agreed, and set up the job asap. George and his crew were out, less than a week later and completed the job the same day. We couldn’t be happier!
We also received another quote from George for another area that needed regrading. We thought we’d wait till spring.George never pressured us but, because his team was already at our home, we asked them to start the second job. They started the same day and finished the next morning. Again, couldn’t be happier!!!

Seems like from other reviews they’re great if you need emergency work done! But don’t bother getting a quote for your project work. Sure feels like they’re out here fishing for suckers.

I’m upgrading from a 100 amp to a 200 amp panel. Getting a few quotes. Reached out to wire doctors because they have great reviews.

They charge an $89 fee to come out to do a quote. That kinda bites, but I get it. I’m sure it helps cover costs and screens people out.

Guy came next day which was great!

They quoted me $11,500. Said they would offer a “discount” (which to me is just a blatant fake sales tactic) of $4000 and really didn’t give a reason for offering said “discount”.

To the wire Doctors - AI is here now guys. Your customers can check your quotes. I sent AI pictures of the circuit breaker, and the meter outside. Our job is relatively straightforward. We’ve got overhead cabling coming into the house, so no trenching will be needed. Sure we’ll need grounding rods installed, an emergency shutoff switch, and (supposedly) a surge protector is also required by NJ state code. But that does not justify the price that was quoted.

I understand there might be something I don’t understand or am missing. But I am very skeptical. I’ll take this review down if I am missing something here. But I won’t if I’m not convinced.

Careful doing business with these folks! I’m sure they do great work. Just make sure they don’t take you for a ride!

Jamie went above and beyond to make sure our issue was resolved. All the staff are very friendly, professional, and passionate about the work they do. Not only was our problem fixed, but they had it working better than before the issue developed. Could not be happier with their service, highly recommend!

The wire doctor came to assist me at my site with two separate emergency’s. A broken HVAC unit and exhaust fan. We formulated a plan and Jim the tech executed them both perfectly. Had me up and running in record time . I would definitely recommend

The Wire Doctors are awesome! I called on a Saturday afternoon with a breaker issue. Ken was there in less than 2 hours and fixed the issue promptly. I will definitely use them in the future for more than emergency electrical work.

Emergency room pricing.
If you have an emergency, and don’t care about cost, The Wire Doctors might be a good option.

I explained I had several electric projects I needed someone to scope out. The show up fee was $89. That doesn’t go towards any work eventually, it’s just $89 flat.

When the technician arrived, they were friendly and knowledgeable about basic electric work, but couldn’t help with more advanced questions.

They found two outlets that didn’t work. They quoted me another $327 to diagnose and fix the outlet problem.

While that’s an insane amount of money for an outlet replacement, I agreed to it.

After they finished replacing the outlets, they told me it was going to be another $254 for labor and parts. 🤯

That’s a grand total of $670.00 for a decent conversation and two outlet replacements.

When I called the company afterwards, they refunded $150 and asked for a 5-star review.

The technician said they would get back to me with a quote to replace my can lighting with led lights. They never got back to me with a quote (which I’m sure would have been over my budget).

I recently contacted The Wire Doctors for a problem that I was having with a timer switch that kept tripping my circuit breaker. Within minutes, Jamie called me back and set up an appointment the same day. Jim from The Wire Doctor came out and found what he thought was the problem but later that night the circuit tripped again. I again contacted Jamie and she responded within minutes again and had Jim come back the next day and advised us to change out some old power strips we had and that plus what Jim found in one of the light fixtures seemed to be the problem and all seems to be working fine now. The Wire Doctors were friendly, professional, and very thorough when it comes to their work and dealing with customers. I would definitely recommend them to anyone that is in need of an experienced electrician!
