Be careful if you are an African American renting from this company. Completely ruined my living situation for me and my toddler son.

Mr. Barry Hoffman has been a like a fairy godfather to me on this project. He has sent hours going over everything with me to make sure that I understand and holding my hand through this entire process. He has a breadth of knowledge with a historical perspective that is unparalleled. I highly recommend him!

Barry Hoffman coordinated repair of leaking shower, saved us thousands of dollars and left the house in pristine condition. He is extremely knowledgeable about the construction of old homes and how to repair them.

I’m incredibly happy with my kitchen renovation done just about a year ago! From the first meeting through the end of the project everything went pretty darn smooth. Definitely not the nightmare most people told me I was in for during a kitchen remodel, lol.
The team was beyond fantastic and a pleasure to have around, my project turned out exactly as I had pictured, and it was finished on budget AND pretty close to the projected finish time!

After interviewing several contractors I chose Hoffman Construction to do a new roof, replace front porch columns, and rehab the old windows in my century home. All the work was done very well. Barry truly cares about his clients and takes pride in doing quality work. His carpenter John was great, as well as the team of roofers and gutter man. All projects went as smoothly as possible with only some minor bumps in the road and delays due to the freezing weather. Barry was in contact with me through all the projects and was easy to get a hold of for any questions. I plan on meeting with him again to talk about future projects.

Barry and his expert carpenters did a full bathroom renovation for us, including demolition and install of a new shower system. The work was fantastic and we are very happy.

Barry was communicative throughout every step of the process and provided great design insights. His carpenters were courteous and professional.

Overall, Hoffman Construction did a great job. As with many contractors, there were many subcontractors whose work had to be coordinated by Mr. Hoffman. The logistics of this were handled very well, and Barry made every effort to keep the job moving forward. I want to especially note the high quality work done by the main carpenter on the project, John Newton. All of the other contractors also worked in an efficient and professional manner. I was most impressed by their attention to detail, and the willingness to make everything meet our expectations.

Hoffman Construction and its proprietor, Barry Hoffman, listens to his customers' concerns and addresses them. He works closely with his clients to advise on materials and how to best solve the issues in the least expensive way. I have had Barry completely remodel my basement with finished walls, flooring, and electrical work. I have had Hoffman Construction install crown moulding in my three bedrooms upstairs and I have had them remove wallpaper, repair walls, and repaint the rooms. In one bedroom I had them build two additional closets. When my third floor roof leaked causing the plaster to fall off the walls and ceiling, Barry advised me who to contact to replace my roof and then he completely removed, insulated and replaced the drywall on my third floor. I would not have had Hoffman Construction do so much work on my house if I did not have faith in Barry's ability to complete the job to my satisfaction. I can heartily recommend Hoffman Construction and, should I need to use them again, I will.

Very friendly and professional workers. Barry was quick to respond to any questions and solve any problems that came up. John and Neil were also very helpful to us and gave us insight on other projects we were working on. The work Hoffman Inc did was beautiful. So happy to have chosen Hoffman Construction for our remodel and I would absolutely recommend them to anyone looking to turn an unusable, outdated, and not functional space into something that can be enjoyed for years to come.

I highly recommend Hoffman Construction. From the beginning, Barry was helpful and professional. His advice on how to finish my basement was wonderful. He was patient as I discussed my dream and budget, and he said shared great ideas to accomplish my goals. All the workers (carpenters, plumbers, electricians, plasterers) were wonderful. Always on time, neat and a joy to have in my home. Barry checked frequently to make sure that the job was moving along to my satisfaction. The finished room has become a family space we truly enjoy. I will definitely call him again for future projects.

We have used Berry Hoffman of Hoffman Construction and his crew for several construction projects, big and small. We have always found Barry punctual, responsible, resourceful, and imaginative in finding solutions to problems in our older home.

We needed a structural repair for a recurring crack in our ceiling that was due to a design defect dating from its original construction. Barry worked out a solution with our structural engineer and came up with a novel solution the engineer approved.

Barry’s crew worked over three days to rebuild the ceiling support in the narrow crawl space of our attic. They were always on time, polite, informative, and cleaned up promptly and thoroughly at the end of the day.

We had a second HVAC issue which Barry dealt with the same creativity and responsibility. We have found his prices reasonable, especially considering the quality of their work.

I had a fantastic experience working with Barry. He was super quick to reach out to me and schedule a time to meet and look at both my garage and bathroom. He was honest and thorough with his opinions on the work. While my job was on the “smaller side” (converting a side window into a door for my garage) - he was able to quickly schedule a day to get the job done. Barry is very responsive, has very competitive pricing and he & his team cleaned up well once they were done. Would definitely work with Hoffman construction again!

Gruelling attic renovation project with custom built-ins and custom tables: Hoffman Construction got it done!

Barry (Hoffman) and his merry helpers did an awesome job on our kitchen. We did a total refresh from ceiling to floor and it went very well considering Covid and all the material shortages the contracting industry has to deal with in these times. I’d highly recommend Barry and his crew all day long. We love our kitchen and the quality of the work.

We have worked with Barry and his crew for over a year on three different investment property projects, two of which were major fixers. He took our water destroyed kitchen (pictured) and made it absolutely beautiful. He specializes in kitchens and baths, though we have also used him to finish out an attic, do basement repair work, interior gas line replacement, new plumbing, wood floor refinishing, countertop replacement, luxury vinyl plank installs, etc. Our projects with Hoffman Construction have all come in right around budget. His subcontractors are really nice, honest, hardworking, respectful, and show up when expected. Barry is always responsive over the phone and open to working through any of my questions or ideas. When any issues come up, Barry is quick to make it right or talk through solutions. He is helpful in finding budget friendly ways of doing things, while still providing a quality product and quality work. He has many many years of valuable experience in renovating historic homes, which is an absolute necessity, and a unique and desirable trait to look for when investing in Cleveland. I would highly recommend you hire Barry, except that I don’t want the secret to get out and he get too busy to work on my future projects. ;) Joking aside, you won’t regret working with Hoffman Construction if you choose them for your renovation project.

Barry and his wonderful crew did an amazing job in my kitchen renovation! It was a total tear out and redo with beautiful results. The craftsman who worked in my kitchen were expert, polite (beyond belief) and tidy. They worked quickly and I had a working kitchen, albeit not complete within weeks. I highly recommend Hoffman Construction for kitchen, bathroom, basement or other room remodel!
