RHD is an outstanding company. The customer service that they provide is out of this world. I have utilized them for multiple new or renovation projects, and they continue to deliver and exceed expectations. We hired RHD to do some home renovations in the house we recently bought. They gutted and remodeled the master bath, installed a window in the master bedroom, painted kitchen cabinets and installed new cabinets and a pantry on the opposite wall of the existing cabinets, built built in book shelves in our living room, and moved the door for our laundry room. RHD was very responsive to all communication and easy to work with. They were able to give me a quote within a few days of contacting them and were able to begin work immediately, which was hard to find in the middle of COVID quarantine. They were easy to talk to and negotiate with when I needed to add or remove items from the project. My only complaint would be that their initial quote process needs to be more detailed. Several charges came up throughout the project that should have been included originally, but weren't. However, they were very understanding with this frustration through the process and we were able to compromise and both agree if any new charges were added. It was nice to hire someone who knew about this scope of work. They do subcontract the work out, but the subcontractors were excellent and it was nice to have an expert overseeing our home renovation. I would recommend them to anyone beginning a home renovation project.

I am looking for a remodel company. Used Google for the lead. Nice website. The contact form had a lot of questions, as I don't have all that kind of information I used the email link. I asked what is the ballpark timeline as we want to get moving on the project soon. I got email reply that asked another coworker if we should forward to sales or trash it.

I replied to the email. "Please don't trash my email if I am being copied."

The company called me to clear their confusion. However I hope in the future they take requests more seriously.

They are all very professional from the guys in the design phase to the carpenters to the final walk-through. The project manager especially went out of his way on several occasions, and our principal architect is the best communicator! No skimping; everything quality! And no upsale!

We have done several projects with SJ Janis and will continue to use them in the future. They do high quality work, communicate extremely well, and finish on time, every time. I can't imagine having a better experience with remodeling.

The SJ Janis team remodeled and expanded our kitchen space and expanded our living space by adding on a sun room. The design fits our home perfectly and we've enjoyed the new space for many years now. We are very pleased with the outcome!

S.J. Janis built a marvelous 4-season room as an addition to our home; this large project, from demo to completion, took approximately 3 months. We ended up with a spectacular space, better insulated than the rest of our home, with separate HVAC to moderate the heat and humidity generated by the enclosed spa. From the beautiful cedar ceiling to the extremely attractive and durable stamped concrete outside, this is a piece of art. They had excellent ideas for us along the way, for example, the use of Kardean Loose Lay flooring material - a great product that I had never heard off. From planning to project meetings to the actual construction, this was superlative work. Plus, zero punch list at conclusion!

Our house is a 1927 Historical Registered Tudor in Waukesha. The renovations included virtually all of the first floor making this an extensive renovation with a lot of demolition as well as construction. All of the early demolition was done in a way to minimize the dust and debris (we have plaster and lathe construction). The detail in design work was excellent and the finish product exceeded our expectations. Nick Sannes, Jayme Lippe, Joe Klein and, especially, Alton Oakes were excellent and easy to work with. Alton, our Lead Carpenter and Project Manager, went out of his way to make sure my wife and I were happy with his results. He exceeded that in almost all cases as we were generally thrilled with his work. Due to the size of the project with all of its interlocking pieces, the supply issues of 2022 were apparent. The job took two months longer to complete than initially planned but communication was always excellent and we never felt that we were being neglected. We would HIGHLY recommend S.J. Janis for major remodels!

Great representation, but SJ Janis picks and chooses jobs they feel are beneficial to them. Makes sense, but disappointing for those who are seeking a great contractor but get declined.

Update: SJ Janis called back basically asking me to change my review. They used to have a 5 star review as they call and complain to posters to hopefully obtain a 5 star review. No company will ever be perfect, especially with a 5 star status. I assume they do great work, but business ethics are majorly lacking. Seek other honest customer focused contractors.

We just finished an addition with SJ Janis and we have nothing but great things to say. Everyone was very professional, very nice and easy to work with. I work out of my home and this was an additional living room space, so I was a little worried about how this was going to go, but I never had any issues. All of the contractors were great and they always cleaned up before they left. Our PM, Josh, was awesome. I'm a business owner and mom so I am busy and would sometimes I would ask him questions after hours just so I didn't forget and he always got back to me soon after I texted him, which I really wasn't expecting him to do. The price was just a little higher than some other quotes, but not much and you definitely get what you pay for. This wasn't the type of job we were looking to do on a side job type of deal. They even fixed some other things in our home that weren't a part of the addition. Well worth every penny and we will recommend them to anyone looking to do work on their home. Thank you for the beautiful addition and thank you (and sorry) to everyone that had to deal with our very excitable and ridiculous dogs!!!
