General Contractor reviews in Middletown, Rhode Island

JPS Construction and Design’s reputation for high quality craftsmanship is well deserved. This was our 3rd project using JPS and certainly the most extensive.

The 8 month project involved both exterior and interior renovations, the first floor taken down to studs. From the design phase through completion, the project could not have gone smoother.

Our project manager, Andrew was exceptional. He was truly a partner every step of the way, including working with us to insure we stayed within our budget. All throughout, keeping us on schedule.

The renovations exceeded our expectations! We highly recommend JPS Construction and Design for any project.

Wow what a great job they did. I am so happy with the installation of our new floating stairs. They were professional, courteous and always on time I would highly recommend them to anyone and use them again in the future

Jamie & his team are amazing! They are always looking for ways to help local businesses and organizations. JPS Construction was generous enough to make a donation to our organization to assist with taking a group of kids to Ireland to learn about their agriculture and how they grow things in other countries! You can always count on JPS to support local businesses and organizations!

Kevin and the team at JPS were fantastic to work with from start to finish when designing and installing our Viewrail staircases and custom nosing. I would not hesitate to work with them again, and recommend them very highly.

I have been working with the entire JPS design and construction team for nearly 3 years now, I have found them to be very responsive, professional, efficient and talented. I have utilized all of the services JPS offers to its clients. I have been told that the house they built for me is some of the best workmanship and craftsmenship anyone has ever seen. I recommend JPS to any homeowner who is looking to build a new home or renovate an existing home.

Our experience with JPS team has been top notch. Working with Kevin Sawyer as our point person has been excellent. The project of window replacement is underway plus JPS stepped in to help us with an unexpected chimney issue, providing on the spot critical assistance and guidance. Excited and VERY satisfied to be working with JPS to the finish line!

The JPS Construction does a great job maintaining our home. They manage repair and update projects and monitor our home when we are away. Their service is terrific, very reponsive, high quality and fair prices. They installed a stage 2 charger in our garage when we bought an electric car, installed a home generator and manage large and small projects equally well thanks to Sue and John.

The JPS Construction and Design team demonstrated exceptional performance during the entire design and new-build construction process - they get top marks across the board!
The design team helped us consolidate and improve our ideas for a large custom house - both the overall architecture and interior design. They successfully incorporated many details that were important to us, and clearly communicated cost and schedule details along the way.
Their expert Project Manager was involved early on during the design process, and led the team of JPS builders and subcontractors every step of the way to produce a great result. Frequent communications between the Project Manager, subcontractors and owners was an important part of the JPS new-build process, and helped ensure project success.
Maintaining consistent high quality in every aspect of their work is built into their process, and a source of satisfaction that we continue to enjoy now that we live in our new home.
We highly recommend JPS Construction & Design to anyone considering either renovations to an existing home, or a more comprehensive new-build construction project.

JPS Delivers!! What an excellent experience. We needed a new roof and several skylights replaced. Jamie and his team exceeded my expectations with every phase of the renovation. I highly recommend! JPS is the BEST!

We hired JPS after another contractor had let us down. JPS did a fantastic job. Our project manager, Dominic Skrajewski, was not only accessible, communicative and quick to respond, but he was also often pro-active in heading off any potential issues. Site Supervisor Kevin Levesque was reliable, organized and also engaging throughout the process. The workmanship was outstanding, the project completed on time and they were fair and transparent. We wouldn't use anyone else in the future.

After a decent experience with JPS in 2023, we trusted them again in 2025—and deeply regret it. A simple two-bathroom remodel turned into a nightmare. JPS ignored the design blueprint for the primary bathroom and completed the rough-in nine inches off, requiring full rework. Due to poor communication with their plumbing subcontractor, our family room ceiling was opened and closed three separate times, causing needless dust and disruption. Basic measurements for tile and cabinetry were repeatedly wrong, leading to incorrect orders, delays, and avoidable design problems. The entire process was excruciating. We won’t be using JPS again and strongly recommend looking elsewhere.

I would hire JPS again and again. Building a new house can be an overwhelming and unpredictable experience, but not in my case. My house was completed on time and aside from unforeseen costs, under budget. The attention to detail - from plans, schedules, construction and finish work - was extraordinary. Every JPS employee who came to the job site was courteous and professional - and my project manager, Dominic, could not have done a better job. I highly recommend JPS for any project, big or small.

We had an outstanding experience working with JPS Design & Construction on the build-out of our new café at 135 JT Connell Hwy. From start to finish, their team was incredibly attentive, professional, and dedicated to making our vision a reality.

The entire team was on time every day, ready to work, and brought both insight and creativity to our final design. Their expertise and attention to detail made the entire process seamless. Our project manager, Loukas, was on-site daily, ensuring everything stayed on track and that all of our needs were met. His commitment to keeping things moving efficiently was instrumental in allowing us to open.

JPS went above and beyond to make this project a success, and we couldn’t be happier with the final result. If you’re looking for a construction company that delivers high-quality work, clear communication, and exceptional service, we highly recommend JPS Design & Construction!

Thank you to Jon, Aaron, and the team at JPS Construction for doing a great job on the addition to our house in Newport. They got the project done in a professional and courteous manner. The communication from the project managers, Jon and Aaron was excellent and the end product reflects the quality of the JPS internal team and their choice of sub-contractors. I would highly recommend JPS Construction for construction projects in Newport and the surrounding area.

JPS built our home in Portsmouth in 2022-2023
We have remodeled or built 7 homes and this was by far the best experience. They were professional and most importantly if something was wrong or wasn’t working they showed up and took care of it.
Dominic S. Was our project manager and he was fantastic which made our experience great!

Billy and his team were amazing to work with right from the start! My husband and I struggled to find a team dedicated to what was considered more of a face lift renovation and we couldn’t be happier with the process, the work, and the expertise that Billy and his team with JPS delivered for us.
Our kitchen went from an early 2000s dated design to our dream kitchen and the team ensured we were informed through every step of the process.
It takes a lot to of research and commitment to find the right team to work with and welcome into your home and we’re so glad we chose Billy and his JPS team. We will absolutely use him for future work and highly recommend him to others!

Overall I had a very positive experience with JPS. I was looking to do a total remodel of my master bathroom and adjacent laundry room, combining them into one room and hoped to add a soaker tub. I've never done any sort of home remodel before and needed a lot of help through the process. Sue and Tom from the design team were able to come up with a floorpan that worked for everything I needed, which seemed a miracle given the space we were working with. I also worked with Lindsay and Morgan at Design House, a JPS sister company, to come up with the cabinet and tile selections, which was an enormous help. The amount of decisions can be overwhelming but everyone on the team, including the project manager, were super helpful throughout the process. Lewis and his team did an amazing job on the remodel itself, they were all extremely courteous of my property and the homes around me, the job site was always very neat. As these things tend to do, the whole job took a lot longer than anticipated but despite that, it was worth it. The new bathroom is gorgeous, better than I could have imagined. Deepest thanks to all of you!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

We are extremely pleased with the completed garage conversion into two bedrooms. From start to finish, the project was handled with a high level of professionalism, clear communication, and attention to detail. The quality of workmanship met—and in many areas exceeded—our expectations, and the finished space is both functional and well-designed.

The construction crew was punctual, courteous, and respectful of our home throughout the entire process. Their work ethic and craftsmanship were evident every day, and they maintained a clean and organized job site.

We would also like to specifically recognize the project managers, Jon and Aaron, who were outstanding. They were consistently responsive, transparent, and proactive in addressing questions or adjustments along the way. Their coordination and oversight kept the project on schedule and ensured a smooth experience from beginning to end.

We highly recommend JPS for any construction project and we look forward to working with them again on future projects on our home.

We hired JPS Construction to build our retirement dream home in Little Compton. Overall we are thrilled with how it came out! Project manager Kevin along with Matt, Jon, and Jordan were all professional and cared about the quality of the work being done. They were nimble and willing and able to change things on the fly when needed. As with any large project there were some hiccups along the way, but the JPS team listened to our concerns and made sure everything was dealt with to our satisfaction. We would recommend JPS Construction for any new build or remodel.
