Wood's Heating Service

I contacted Wood's after my previous supplier raised my propane rate from $4.20 to $7.60 a gallon. It turns out that Woods as well as several other local suppliers have some undisclosed affiliation with my prior supplier, making them averse to taking on a new account without the blessing of my original supplier. One of Woods sales agents wasted 10 days of my time, claiming that he was working with my supplier to apparently disentangle Wood's from the prior supplier. Over the course of 10 days, he failed to get back to me on three occasions as he promised. I finally changed to another supplier after the last time that he failed to get back to me. What a difference dealing with my new INDEPENDENT supplier !!

Generally service is quite good, but their ceiling price program is a big disappointment. My ceiling price is $4.569/gal. I just checked about 15 other RI home heating oil suppliers and the prices are between $3.80 and $4.00. This difference can amount to well over $100.00 per normal delivery. I would have been better off paying market price. This will be corrected with another company at the end of the contract term.

I am surprised by the negative reviews about Woods Heating. Woods has been servicing the propane and oil needs at our house for 6 1/2 years. From day one they monitored our gas and oil needs, worked with us on our budget heating plan, made regular deliveries, sent a technician out as promptly as they could when the oil burner goes down even in really bad weather. They are always friendly and courteous on the phone. I have had nothing but good experiences with them for 6 1/2 years. That's a pretty good track record. One star for emails not responded to? A bit less than fair for a review. Email is not as reliable as a call. Keep in mind that Doug and all the folks at Woods can have a bad day too. Or perhaps you had a bad day and your approach was less than cordial. We all have things going on in our lives. Woods Heating gets a thumbs up from me. Keep up the great work.
