I had a disappointing experience with Carolina Contracting & Investments Inc. While they were not the lowest-priced option, I moved forward expecting a higher level of service and project management. Unfortunately, that was not my experience.

The project timeline extended well beyond what was originally communicated, with little proactive communication or clarity around delays. Overall coordination felt lacking, and the project did not appear to be effectively managed from start to finish.

One of my primary concerns was that the individual acting as the project manager was actually the company’s Marketing & Business Development Director, and this was reportedly her first time managing a project. As a result, several important details were overlooked throughout the process.

After the project was completed, I was also contacted directly by one of their subcontractors stating they had not been paid for their work. This was concerning and added to my overall lack of confidence in how the project was handled behind the scenes.

Additionally, there were professionalism concerns during the project. The individual I understood to be the superintendent (Art) frequently arrived at my home with a noticeable odor of alcohol, which was uncomfortable and raised concerns.

Based on my experience, I would recommend that others proceed with caution and ask detailed questions about project management structure, communication expectations, and subcontractor handling before moving forward.

The team did great work, our deck looks very professional and they were even kind enough to take some of the displaced dirt and fill in some ruts left behind by the rig that delivered the materials (different company). Would hire again!

Plan was to replace roof and sidings. Delt with Scott Dean. He came out to inspect, great conversations and was looking forward to working with him. I literally didn't hear from him for a whole week, not even a text. When he does reach out he text saying he's been waiting supplies and wanted to set up the project acting like nothing was wrong. I texted him back next day letting him know I went with someone else after not hearing from him. I'm a patient person and feel sum communication should have been given at least once during that time frame.

Never hear back from any Carolina Contracting reps. I think they are either out of business or just don’t car about the customer. I have literally left half a dozen messages over last three weeks and even used their online tool for help. I wonder if the owner knows how far his company has gone down.

Scott was very attentive. He was quick to respond to all calls and texts. He was a great help in negotiating with the insurance company. We were very pleased with the final project.

I will never in my life recommend working with this company, due to the fact that you have an employee that doesn’t represent your company the way you advertise. A employee by the name Arthur, is so demising and disrespectful instead of taking an opportunity to bring on new business, he makes threats to potential clients, and his tasteful comment about hard-working employees. I would never work with a company that allows someone like him represent a company on and off the clock.

Highly recommend this business. As a subcontractor it’s hard to find businesses that communicate effectively, and stand behind what they say. Carolina Contracting has been great to work with over these last few projects.

I can't say enough about the excellent work that Carolina Contracting did completely demoing an existing wood deck and constructing a new TimberTech deck. The project was challenging. The deck is sixteen feet off the ground with +20 stairs and extensive lighting. It was done on budget and on time. Scott Dean and his team worked hard every day on the project from early morning to dusk. They are true craftsmen. Communication was exemplary throughout the 3-4 week project.

Very happy with the great deck that Carolina Contracting installed for us. Super easy process, timely communication and a solid finished project. Kudos to Scott, Moises and the whole team.

Outstanding work, what ever you need done they were able to complete it at a timely manner. I needed a safe and affordable deck and they did just that. Plus Scott and his team went out of their way to over build to make sure we were safe but also make it aesthetically pleasing. Anything that came along they kept us informed and make sure we were educated to make the right decisions. Very pleased with their work and can’t wait to call them back to do more home Reno. You won’t be disappointed.

The people at Carolina Contracting are very easy to work with, from the top down, they do excellent work on short notice. They did a bathroom renovation for me in a minimum time. We were well pleased with their services.
