We had multiple trees that needed to be cleaned up, including one that was looking pretty sad. The crew came in one afternoon, got everything trimmed, cleaned up and were out before we even noticed, plus did an incredible job! Highly recommend!

We had a tree fall down on our house after a big wind storm that completely wrecked our second story. Their team came in on short notice and did a great job removing the tree without causing any further damage to our house. It was quite the stressful experience and they made it much easier. Would definitely recommend them.

Channing and team did a wonderful job in removing 4 HUGE spruce trees from the sides of our house. They worked quickly and were conscientious when cleaning everything up after the job was finished. Would recommend and would hire again!

....Did an excellent job on a not so easy, tree removal! The tree was situated on the edge of my property line, right next to my neighbor's garage and house, and close to my house. Not only were there several limbs overhanging my neighbor's buildings, there also was only a small area to work within.
I really appreciated the quick response, courteousness of Channing and crew, the extra care taken, AND the reasonable pricing! They worked through a couple of very hot days, with temps around 100, to get the job completed. And once completed, Channing seemed to genuinely care about my satisfaction with the work done. A good experience from the start to the finish, with this company!

Called Channing Tuesday and he came out same day to quote one tree removal and 2 stump grindings. My fiancé works from home and he was able to work around her schedule and come when she wasn’t working! From his quote to finishing the job was less than a week time frame. He’s punctual with time, good with communication and super pleased with their clean up! Also very very competitive pricing! We had 3 other quotes before contacting them! Don’t waste your time call Sioux empire tree first!

Unfortunately, I am now decreasing the rating on this review. A follow-up interaction with this company has soured the previously good experience I had. After removing a tree in my front yard and having the company grind down and remove the stump, I moved forward with another landscaping project. The new landscaping company planned to lay out some sod where the tree used to be. But when they started work in that area, they found that a large chunk of tree stump still remained.

I reached out to Channing, the owner, and let him know that there was a solid chunk of stump still above ground level, probably 2” high (that was previously covered by dirt/debris and unnoticed) and asked if he could return to clear it out. It was shaped like a half circle, and all around it the other part of the stump had been ground down in a satisfactory manner, except this chunk got missed. I sent photos of the stump and explained the issue. The response from Channing was that it would be an additional charge to come out and grind it down again ($150), and they only grind down about 4”-6” deep. I advised (several times) over text that this was not an additional job or a new project – it was a project that I’d already paid for that did not get fully completed. The stump that remained was 2” ABOVE the ground, so it clearly got missed.

I was told that he had highly under bid me for the tree removal and so he “can’t come back out for nothing so”. I tried to explain (again) that I was not asking for additional work, it was the company’s error that part of the tree stump was missed. Just like if I had hired him to paint my house, and a bedroom didn’t get painted. This was not a new project, to which an additional charge would be expected, it’s fixing what the company missed doing the first time around. I also asked 3x to have a phone conversation, so we weren’t solely communicating over text, and I was ignored.

After several days of no response, I had a random message that he could come out and do the stump removal. I responded that I had already had the new landscaping company take care of it (as they couldn’t wait on it) and asked if I could be reimbursed the money I paid to have them do the removal. Since I had now paid twice for the same job, it would be in good business faith to refund me the payment I paid someone else to take care of their missed work. I also extended the opportunity for a phone conversation, for a 4th time. At the time of this review, it has now been over a week and still no response from the owner.

I feel like this was handled very unprofessionally, as there was no acceptance to make it right and fix their mistake. There was no responsibility taken or even an apology given, and a majority of the communication was about charging me more money to fix the missed stump. It was a highly disappointing and unfortunate end to what started out as a positive experience.

I had a wonderful experience working with Channing and his crew. He is very reasonable with pricing and I appreciated his flexibility with my schedule. He is very friendly to work with and took excellent care of my yard after the tree removal. I would highly recommend Channing and this company for anyone needing tree removal services!

Channing was amazing!! 5 stars for great customer service!!! I called 4 other tree services to get quotes and got a standard cost without anyone coming to actually look at what I needed help with. When I called Sioux Empire they said they would come right over to give me an estimate to remove; what I thought was a pretty decent size pile of tree/branches out of the front yard of my house. He came, he quoted and same day not much longer the truck was there to pick up all the trees from the front yard. They were quick and definitely reasonably priced. They will be the first ones I call again in the future and I would for sure recommend them to anyone!

We had a dangerous situation at our home with a damaged tree that needed to come down immediately.
Channing answered the phone when I called and was at our home within 45 minutes to give an estimate.
He was back with his equipment in a short time and it was truly a great experience working with him.
He was professional, honest, and after the job was completed, he cleaned the area so well that we didn't have anything to pick up.
We had a similar situation again and he even came on the weekend to help us.

Channing with Sioux Empire Tree Service removed a very large cottonwood that was over 70’ tall that hung dangerously over the back corner of our house and deck. I got six bids to remove this tree and grind the stump. SETS was not only the fairest price, he was properly insured to do a job like this. His equipment was all new and professional and he was here within a week. He is polite, professional, a great communicator explaining his plan and process but he is also unbelievably capable. He took the time to safely bring the tree down in manageable sections to ensure no damage to our home and he was meticulous in keeping our property in good condition. Two days start to finish and absolutely 100% amazing work. I’m not only a customer, I’ve become a raving fan. I highly recommend Sioux Empire Tree Service.

He was very timely in getting the estimate for the tree removal. And came over and got the tree removed and pulled out one of the stumps and the other two are gonna get pulled out momentarily and he is very punctual about getting things done. I would totally recommend him to anybody else as is very reliable and doesn’t cost an arm and leg. And they clean up after themselves? If anybody’s looking for a good Tree Service , Sue, Empire Tree Service is the one to call!!

We try to do good work for all of our costumers. We would use ourselves to cut trees at our residents :)
