First of all, the guys were very nice and did a good job. My 2 stars are are because of unfair pricing. I was told my job would be $800; $400 per hour for 4 people. I ended up having 3 people for the first 20 minutes and 2 for the remainder of the total 2.25 hours. Because of this, I expected my bill to be $500; however, my bill was still $800. Kirk said the bill would be “what we discussed,” and I agreed. My understanding was that meant he would adjust the price for having fewer men on the job. He meant it would still be an $800 job. I feel like that was very unfair. Because I didn’t clarify with him, I still paid the $800, but I will not use his service again, and I do not recommend him.

What a great job Wellman did of saving my two trees so that I can still have shade And all the dead stuff was cut off. Cleanup was fantastic and I would never use anybody else again after having dealt with two other tree services. Thank you, Wellman Tree Service

I googled and called a couple services after our tree was blown down last night in the storm completely blocking our driveway. Kirk from Wellman called me back within an hour and explained they were backed up but would try and get to our house this morning. He said if I could get anyone else, to let him know but if not, they would be there. They showed up at 8:00am and were done around 9:00am! The price he quoted was high but what do you expect if you want immediate, professional, courteous service?? Customer service is alive and well! I'd definitely use them again and recommend them.

My experience with this company came as a neighbor of a job that they were completing this past fall.

I came home from work to find a scuffed-up driveway from where the crew put machinery to complete my neighbor’s job, large scratches to my garage, torn up areas in my front yard, fencing scraped up and broken off in two places, and numerous branches on my rooftop. Upon myself taking the branches off the roof, I found a gutter filled with fresh leaves from a maple tree in my backyard. Wondering why these would be here, I look in my yard to find a fresh cut of a healthy branch in MY TREE that the crew cut off without any consent (along with two other branches snapped, and just hanging from the tree).

Was there a note, call, acknowledgement of any of these issues? No. Likely hoping that either I would not recognize these errors or that I simply wouldn’t speak up about them.

Upon calling the company and speaking with them (Kirk), they then acknowledged that the branch had been damaged when they were working on our neighbor’s yard so they cut it down. No apologies, instead explaining that it was a tough job that they had been tasked. Multiple pictures of all the above were sent to Kirk. Upon no answer back for a few days, I followed up again, now that one of the broken/hanging branches had fallen on its own, and luckily no children were playing around here at the time as it was fairly large.

Instead of apologizing for his crew’s obvious mistakes, he instead chose to over-and-over again explain how it was a very tough job for his crew to complete and that sometimes things like this happen. Upon our second conversation, we voiced our concerns and why we were frustrated for the damage to our property on a job that wasn’t even our’s, rather for our neighbor. During this, we literally got HUNG UP ON from Kirk (assumed owner/manager). None of the damage mentioned has been (or was even offered) cleaned or made-right by the company. Instead, their offer back after finally acknowledging that damage done by the crew was unwarranted and careless, was to complete some further trimming of the tree for free of a branch that was damaged was from a storm years ago before we even owned the home; unnecessary to complete at this time, had no cause for concern, and unrelated to the current issues at hand.

I would not, and will not, EVER recommend this company to anyone. The lack of professionalism and negligence that they work with is unbelievable.

We’ve used Wellman Tree Service before, and their work is always top shelf. Most recently, they removed a large Green Ash that was in a tricky spot, and they handled it quickly and professionally. Stump removal was included, and they went the extra mile by clearing all the debris and filling the area with dirt so everything looked clean and finished. Their crew is skilled, courteous, and clearly takes pride in doing the job right. The level of care and attention to detail they provide sets them apart from other companies. Excellent service every time! Highly recommend.

The three workers were very professional and informative when pruning and trimming our trees. Our neighbor also uses Patriot Tree Service and is also happy.

Patriot Tree Service did an absolutely amazing job for us after the big storm here on the west side of Sioux Falls. They came to remove our huge fallen tree within three hours of calling them. Great service with efficiency in every way from cutting to clean up to hauling away!

We had a storm Tuesday night. We had two large trees damaged. We have had bad luck w tree removal companies. Few if any return calls. We had been recommended to try Patriot Tree service so I called them. Tanner answered the phone and was at our place within 90minutes. He gave us a good affordable quote and had a crew out in the pm and it was all done by supper! The crew was super professional and thorough. Good safety practices and many procedures in place to prevent property damage. They were all courteous and I was most impressed they did little things like small branch and leaf cleanup. Tanner was respectful and communicated well. Patriot actually answers the phone! Quickly! I strongly recommend them!

We had a fantastic experience with Patriot Tree Services! They had originally planned to clean up our Lucian tree and apple tree before the storm hit. Then, after we had multiple storms the same night, our trees were in desperate need of major help. Despite being incredibly busy, they came out quickly, even helping our neighbors as well.

They responded within a week of the storm, which we really appreciated. Every interaction we had with them was professional, and they were incredibly efficient. The crew worked hard and made sure to clean up everything when they were done. My husband and I can't say enough good things about their service.

We hired Tanner from Patriot Tree Service to cut down a few tall trees on our property, and they did a great job! I was impressed with how they made sure everybody was safe, and cleaned up the mess afterwards. Communication was amazing. They’re the absolute best company to call if you’ve got trees that need trimming or removing.

This company is incredible! Last year another company cut down a tree on my neighbors lot that impacted a part of our yard. Doug agreed to come back and level off the area and lay sod. I called the other company and spoke to the owner. He said he would look into it and get back to me, but said Doug no longer works there. I never heard back from that company after several attemps. Long story short, Doug is now part of Patriot Tree Service. He came back, leveled the area and laid sod at no cost, just as he said he would when he worked for the other company. That is a man of his word, a man of integrity, a man of character, and someone I like doing business with. If you have any tree needs, Patriot Tree Service is your go to company. Highly recommend him.
