About the business:
McCarty Holsaple McCarty Architects (MHM) was founded in Knoxville in 1965 by Bruce McCarty and Robert Holsaple as Bruce McCarty and Associates. From the beginning, the firm was built on a belief in thoughtful design, collaboration, and architecture’s ability to strengthen the communities it serves.
Over more than 60 years, MHM has grown alongside Knoxville and the East Tennessee region, contributing to many of the area’s educational, civic, cultural, commercial, and community landmarks. While the firm has evolved across generations of leadership, Bruce McCarty’s commitment to design excellence and community remains an important part of MHM’s foundation.
Today, MHM continues that legacy through architecture, interior design, planning, historic preservation, and sustainable design—creating places that enrich daily life and leave each place better than we found it.
