The Davey Tree Expert Company

I had bragged on Davey for some tree removal and rightly so. Everything went very well. People have always been kind. But I also had also planned treatments to help some new trees I had planted. They came out and sprayed some fertilizer on the ground and said they would be back in 2 weeks to inject something into the ground. The papers I was given that day said ”select trees treated with humates in preparation for fertilization in a couple of weeks” and the person told me the same thing that day. No one ever called back so I contacted Davey and was told that I was told wrong and nothing else would be done until the spring. I will trust them that was correct and that I was told wrong, but $240 to come out for a few minutes to spray some fertilizer on the ground is outrageous in my opinion with another $240 due in the spring.

This is an edit to my prior above review where I had questioned whether all the services I was charged for were completed in fertilizing trees recently planted. Stephen from Davey came out and spoke with me about my concerns/review. In the end, he made things right by me so I am updating my rating. It is obvious to me from speaking with Stephen, that Davey does care about taking care of their customers which is refreshing.

This is an updated review as of May 16th, 2024. Stephen with Davey came out to the house today and fixed the problem. We talked about the problem and we both could have been better with communication. The work is completed and I was assured if there is any other problem with the work, it would be fixed. I really think it's good now.
I changed my 2 stars to 5 stars now.

THIS WAS THE FIRST REVIEW
The only reason they got 2 stars is because they were hired by my insurance company and Davey came out fast to remove 2 trees that had fallen but I guess at $8500.00 I'd move fast too. The problem is they left massive ruts in my yard and almost 10 months later, I can't get a phone call or my yard fixed. If you hire them or your insurance company recommends them, check your yard before they are paid. I didn't have that option since it was insurance and the company that hired them, could care less. I truly hope this review helps with someone's decision before you are out of a lot of money or your yard is trashed.

COTY'S CREW: From Stephen McLaren's original walk-through and suggestions to when Coty's Crew came on the scene, THE DAVEY TREE EXPERT COMPANY was totally knowledgeable, professional and courteous. Not only did everyone know what they were doing, the entire team appeared to be enjoying working together. I was very impressed from our first meeting to the time the Davey trucks were pulling away. I also feel that you were reasonably priced, and will be highly recommending DAVEY to my friends. Again, thank you for a job well done!
